Thank You! The last year I've had a great time rebuilding two stand ups for my son to ride, and watch him on the water having a blast. I've only been on sit downs, but last week and thanks to your video I gained the confidence and went for it! On the 5th attempt, I was up. Now I can ride with my teenage son and me at 50! Sincerely, Thank You!
Same here dominant foot up front has always been key to staying upright in choppy water at speed. People pick up bad habits and never excel because it feels right in the beginning. When I started racing IJSBA I learned so much from the pro riders. Most of it felt really awkward at first but in the end, it felt 100% right. I raced motocross my whole life and decided to get into stand u jetski racing 7 years ago thinking I would not get hurt as bad on a jetski. Turns out water is very unforgiving and likes to rip you apart rather than give and slide like on dirt. Rather than breaking bones, I was tearing ligaments and muscles, lol.
That’s a fact to all that! Yessir, for sure when you crash out on a Jetski and hold on it’s really rough on your shoulders, ligaments, neck, ect even jumping takes a toll on the body. 💯
Dominant foot forward while learning. But in a while it's good to learn how to ride with either foot forward. I rode this way for over 20 years. It's best to got comfortable doing this so you are ready for any situation. I also always turned left, with my left foot forward. and made right turns with my right foot forward. Works a treat!
Can do either or. I find when the going gets tough and you’re in choppy waters going full speed having your dominant foot up front gives an edge in balance.

What's up with people wearing wrestling shoes on jet ski? is it the new trend?
Not new where I ride. I think people like that they are flexible and won’t fall off after being laced up.
