I love this video so much.... because it's my pet rescue magpie's favourite. I put UA-cam videos of magpies on for her every night and she responds to this one best. What's even more interesting is she has started imitating the same sounds!
@@Nickvin I feed them raw fresh mince they love it! I keep bird baths for all the birds to enjoy! Birds r such characters! And crows r very resourceful! And kind to! They share! When I throw car a ps for crows th eye call out loud to all then other crows "come and get it"🥰
@@catfeatherss She has mastered the bird calls and also does a brilliant wolf whistle & dog whistle. Is still obsessed with screens - laptop, phone & TV, especially bird and animal videos. Can't believe a year has passed since I commented! Since then she has become more loving and cuddly... when I lay down she enjoys snuggling into my neck, side or back of my legs. Even tips herself over for tummy rubs & loves kisses on the neck!
@@kurtreber9813 ahaha I was joking. It depends where you live tho. Some areas are higher in crime than others. Look up Gosnells or Armadale in Western Australia. Those are the main hotspots. I used to live in gosnells and I remember my mums car got broken into quite a few times
@@kurtreber9813 honestly I think magpies get a bad wrap. They only swoop to protect their nests and territory. It’s only natural for them to see other animals (including humans) as threats to their nest. We have some that live in the trees around our house in Byford and they are pretty chill. I personally love how they sound when they yodel!
This sweet charming little magpie just wants to please someone with his incredible vocal gift. I almost shed tears while listening to the different sounds and the bird seemingly wants to be loved. I do love him/her.
I love how birds often look like they're doing absolutely nothing. Sometimes I mimic bird sounds, people actually think it's bird, if they don't see me do it, but I usually do it to make friends laugh. I wonder why some of these birds mimic sounds lol.
Anyone notice the Police Sirens this fella does is not the direct sound, but the sound of the Siren within a city (Delay/Reverb) bouncing of the buildings? Its like taking a vocal and adding reverb to it in a mix.... It aint just a police siren, but one with FX on it! Incredible.
I once heard a squirrel chattering and swearing in the back yard, behind me where I couldn't see. I turned around, and there was no squirrel! It was a Steller's jay on the fence, mimicking. Creeped me out!

I watch this every day now cuz it's so funny to me. This magpie has got the ambulance sounds /sirens down absolutely pat so much so that I sent this to a friend of mine who is a former firefighter . City slicker magpie. So funny!
until today, i honestly had no idea magpies did this! either that magpie has been hanging around lyrebirds too long or just ate a crack rock the junkies dropped on the ground, and is now just talking absolute gibberish?!

You gotta come at them with a huntin' dog that has its nads intact in the Spring. They figure he's an egg thief. Gets 'em real worked up, they'll follow you to your car headfirst without any brakes, so carefull coz their beaks are pointy.
It is because where you live, the magpie here might live near the Australian fires and it hears the fire trucks a lot more than its normal magpie calls so it thinks it is important.
You need to talk to them come to them with something to feed them,They will start looking at You as a good person and start showing you some Love,trust me they will start talking to You and looking at You as a friend🐦
@@GiorgiosP13 Australian Magpies aren't actually related to Magpies overseas, which belong to the corvid family(which includes crows etc). Presumably the ozzy ones were named magpies for their similar appearance to overseas magpies. Australian magpies are classified as songbirds, I don't think corvids are.
magpies actually mimick other noises to blend in and confuse other animals. theres a video about a magpie mimicking an alarm circuling around that is completely true, check it out
I think it’s impressive how the Maggie copies even the echos of the sirens. Sounds EXACTLY how the sirens sound when they’re down the street.
those echos are called 'doppler effect' :-) bird's got a physics class!

It's a him U can tell by the colour of their backs if it's pure white it's a male and if it has grey through it it's a girl.
But babies have grey all over so U can tell the difference
