    Great Job Daniel!
    You chose a great topic for your lesson.
    I really like the definition and explanation of the “lazy bend”, is very clear and effective.

    Daniel, this lesson helped me a lot ! I used to play this lick by sliding the minor 3rd to the 2 now I figure out that’s a bending and is to separate the notes ! Thx a lot !

      The bending is definitely the trickiest part! Glad I could help!

    Great lesson Daniel. Your relaxed pacing and explanation is refreshing. Love your tone, is that coming from the Matchless via the Ox box?

    • @DanMmusic
      @DanMmusic  3 роки тому +2

      Hey thanks Manny! That tone is the ox box, but its actually a vintage projector amp that I have behind me. David Ryan Harris from the JM band has the same one I do, and its a 6V6 amp with a huge amount of dynamic range a la Mayer, so I thought I'd give it a go today!
      I have a video earlier on my channel all about projector amps if you want to learn more!

    i think the sound of the "lazy bend" ain't necessarily bad cuz that gives the "blues" feel that John is aiming for, especially when he plays it by sliding down from the 15th(the blues note) to the 14th on the G string instead of bending, which might make the lick easier! Otherwise, great video !!!

    Nice. What is that box on top of your Matchless head? I always see that but I don't know what it is.

    Deja Voodoo by Kenny Wayne Shepherd band is a song that has this lick all over it. Check it out guys, its got so much of a main character title track vibes

    Good one Daniel. As a high gain player who plays blues, rock, pop and even funk I gave in and bought the Mayer in a box cornerstone antique v2. It’s pretty good. It should be. It’s overpriced. 😉I thought I’d get it to switch things up. FYI the only Mayer stuff I like is the TRY cd. The 2 dvds and a few blues rock songs. That’s it. Not a fan of his sob rock at all. Best song is covered in rain and the solo too but everyone keeps harping on gravity. So some girl said to me yea but those blues things are 10 yrs old. Uh gravity and slow dancing 16 yrs old.

      How do you like the pedal?? I've never seen that before--looks awesome but also tricky to get!
      Covered in Rain is a deep track... you sure youre not a HUGE Mayer fan? Jk, great solo on that one. I was lucky to see it live a few years ago. The thing I like the most about Mayer is his versatility, so while I welcome the sob rock, I certainly understand the preference towards the bluesy stuff. Its definitely fun to listen to
