Giger needs to film a video with Rodney Mullen one day soon 😎
Hey Jonny just wondering has Rodney ever reached out to you for doing these tricks?
Yeah he did reach out and told him to practice more .
@@ObscureSampology 😂😂
I'd love to see them shred together
I was just thinking about this, kind of
we need the answer to this question
That is insaaane 🔥 It baffles me to realize what an absurdly huge trick book Mullen had. Which is great cause it means we can expect this series of yours to go on for a good while 😊
@heel Aye nice to learn something new everyday! 👌 Didn't say he invented it though, just saying it was in Mullen's trick book, as in: the maneuvers he was capable of doing.
HAS, not had.
@heel this actually isn't a butterflip at all. It's a disaster reigentes (not sure the spelling). The butterflip goes to a truck stand (pogo)
But either way they're both in Rodney's wheelhouse
Love your attitude, persistence, and style, Jonny Giger! You're my favorite. Keep it up man!
I like how you and Rodney had matching outfits at the end. :D
I love your dedication and how much you enjoy landing Rodney's tricks.
I really love the fact that you show how much work it takes to be able to do these tricks. It's discouraging to see people do it effortlessly without seeing the work they put in to get to that point. Great job! Keep it up!
This is my favourite thing about Jonny Giger's content.
Thanks for never giving up! You’re a testament to hard work paying off.
You’re awesome Jonny 👏🏼
Deine Videos verleitn dazu diesen Roodney Style zu lernen. Super geil!
Looks so freaking cool. Awesome to see you rocking Fallen
Amazing content with great editing! You really are a many of many talents!
Super smooth makes Jonny, that comparison at the end was mint 🌿
Great job! Amazing to see the effort over several days to make it happen
Thanks for yet again showing us the work it takes to achieve excellence.
awesome energy m8! legendary
Did a report on that book in high school. Loved it. Love your skating just as much.
You're awesome, man!
Also did a report on Mullen's book for school. Best book I ever read!
I have to say - it looked asolutely wonderful! :)
That was so rad man!!
Unusual and tricky trick but it really look good! Congrats you nailed it!
I love seeing everyone doing what they love, I have finally achieved inner peace and feel truly connected to all, that is. skateboarding is part of me its really truly amazing I just started and the only way to learn is by failing and falling.
That was sick bro!!
I just tell everyone I know this guy is great when they ask about my board. I skate one of your revive decks dude! Surprised me how many people didn't know about your channel yet. Keep up the good work and inspiration for creative skating.
You're truly amazing dude!!!
Never thought about that little board keep motion with the back foot for that trick, but anyway I think Rodney always started the trick from a full railstand spin (board and wheels on the ground), where you already go to "sideways" board-wheel position, like 45 degrees, without that little railstand spin Rodney does. Other than that - very nice!
P.S. Rodney also did that one in 3D Extravaganza part of Almost Round Three just fyi.
Loving the new camera angles 😊
Someone has to send these to Rodney, dammit, these two gotta meet! 😁🤘🏼
I skate because of you love you bro
thats just insane giger
Your day 3 outfit reminded me of Jason David Frank when he was on Family Matters.
Honestly this channel is the reason why I really started trying to learn skateboarding
I have that book! Great read!
I don't even skate, but your dedication and persistence is inspirational.
Love the shirt!
IMO you landed it about 30 times in this video lol 👊🏻👊🏻 your a beast on that board
All your videos in the past 12 months have been amazing. Covid really pushed the quality boundary of your channel. But this one, I just about liked a little bit more than the others, even tho you only showed this one trick.
Tuen mol Büecher läse, gopfristutz nomol :)
Would love a montage of tricks you feel are too much effort! Maybe some commentary on why they're not worth working towards?
You make t best skate videos. Make only what you want to make Jonny we'll still enjoy it💯🤙👍
Such a clean looking trick, I've been wanting to get a freestyle board and play around and this looks like fun.... LoL
I really enjoy your videos man, I have destroyed my right ankle 11 yrs ago (on flat ground, can you believe it?) I can't skate anymore, can't even be on my feet for too long without pain, +getting older, duties, work..... , but I still love to watch the most elegant sport there is.
Since I'm not a rich person, best I can do is give you a sub.
Thanks for all the effort and quality you're putting into these videos.
Really good job. Stay safe.
The butterflip is a stationary trick invented by Keith Butterfield. The trick Jonny is doing is more like a "casper disaster" with an additional flip.
i came here expecting to see that and was disappointed
It's the same flip as a Reintges flip, just executed differently. Rolling Reintges? Reintges Disaster? Front foot Reintges? Nose hook Reintges?
Exceeeept that the Casper position was never achieved in this trick. You're right though, the butterflip IS a stationary trick, but so was the Casper until sodney went "hm I bet I could grind that" 🤣that is to say, I think it's more similar to a butterflip than a Casper
@@Ordinary_Red I never said it looks like a "casper", I said it looks like a "casper disaster" with an additional flip...
@@archrodney OH MY SOUL YOU ARE SO CORRECT! 🤣Pardon my bad English, I am still learning
6:55 MY FAVORITE TRICK EVER! hOW DID YOU DO THAT?!?! lol
Nailed it! 👍
Jonny you’re the best!!!
thx i love this trick
Thank you for this video, as a beginer it give a lot of motivation to see that at any level, skateboarding is about patience and repetition.
Great job for this butterflip, I go back try hard my shove it haha
Incredible
Scam
I feel like that mascot guy wasn't acting or playing the part. He just had his mind blown that hard by Rodney and it's a natural reaction.
Primo slide butter flip out?..
Let's see it ! 🤙🏻🔥🔥🔥
Awesome
Favorite board art
No.1 Fan From PH
Terima kasih karena sudah fokus mengulas balik trik trik rodney mullen sehingga bisa kami pelajari ...sangat sangat membantu 😍😍😍
HEY JONNY!!!
Nice!
Always looks so Beautiful there, dreamy 💯
Imagine Jonny throwing this at BATB
Would this be considered a sliding trick? Might not count at BATB
@@MaxSwank don't think so

がんばれ!
This isn't a butterflip. A butterflip is a flip from rail to truckstand. So you start in rail, the board does a 3/4 heelflip, and you catch it in a truckstand. I don't even know if this has an actual name, but it's basically a Reintges flip variation.
Also, when going to rail hang your right foot over the edge of the board more. This will let you catch in rail in the correct position without having to almost jump and reposition your foot. Your toes should be on the wheel as it's coming up, about when the board hits 45 degrees.
Yeah, it's easier to hook the board with the middle of the side of the right shoe's sole to go into rail position. That's how Rodney does it, from the looks of it.
I met Keith Butterfield , who invented the butterflip. That's not the classic butterflip , which Is a stationary freestyle trick catching the board in 50/50
Only freestyle board I ever bought was a Keith Butterfield model... interesting to see this trick get some attention
Love your videos, you are insane! :) great trick, you executed very well. Can i ask if it is possible to buy your golden/green mountain or hill themed promodel boards?
dude it is so awesome how you break this shit down. I woulda killed for you as a resource in my teen lol. I feel like now, at 35, I could learn to do this on a reg on my board even though I've only been riding transport for the last 10 years. I know it's a lot harder than that (5 hours on this trick to a stick).
there currently are 638.000 skaters on the planet, every single one subscribed
Beautiful work as always. So when are we going to see a Bull Flip Johnny?
bravo
That was sick. Rodney would be proud. Would have be funny if you did the spin at the end like Rodney lol
That Legend of Zelda Giger board is actually so sick.
thinking about doing something similar on my longboard, of course without the primo hahaha
You should definitely do a recreation of the mullen video once you did all the tricks :D
Awesome and beautiful
Jhony is great
Sexiest trick i've ever seen. Imagine ollieing into primo onto something and butterflipping out D:
A variation of a Reintges flip my friend. Butterflip is half Reintges to truckstand. Great to see nonetheless.
as soon as i saw that i was like oh its a casper disaster Reintges flip not a butter flip
What do you think of nollie backside shovit body varial?
peace of art
So glad there’s now a trick named after me 🥰
There isn't a trick named after you.
@@XxgoodbudsxX my friends call me Ollie so I bet you feel silly now
Sou aqui do Brasil que top ver você fazendo as manobras que Rodney Mullen eventou 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

@@Paulincg isso isso kkkkkk
Nice going JG!! Have you have met Rodney?
the way hes talking with his hand on day 5 made me realize he seems so italian
There was something particularly artistic about that trick, almost like a musical phrase...
lmao, Ive never seen Jonny struggle with a trick like this before. That flip is insanely difficult!!! ll die before I even get close to trying this.
my name is caroline
This is not the most effort we've seen him put into a trick
@@TheRealMrCrowley that's probably why they said "I" and not "we"
@@WICK_3D what's your point? Because he's never seen it means no one can inform him that it's not even close?
Some casperslides took a lot o time too... Not sure if more though..
You should make a video where you have a skate sesh
myman..!!!!!
I wish you did that trick on the waltz board :(
The Mullen tricks you say would take too much effort or your "bucket list" tricks in general would be very interesting to hear more about!
Yeesss!
I have done this trick many times. It is the only primo flip that is easier to do while moving.
Brooo, so many patrons at the end, you must be making like 2 times the minimum wage just with them, that's amazing!
Did this trick many times. Also filmed it.
Bro. I need that board lol
Ok now, awesome trick, but that's not called a butterflip. Butterflips are railflips to 50-50 (truckstand) done from the Cooper stance, just watch Beau's video(s) on them. What you are doing starts with a "casper disaster" and transition to that flip which I don't know the name of. The casper disaster is called like that because it's like doing a fakie casper 180 but messing up and getting stuck in a railstand with one foot hanging on the griptape because.. well, you were going for a casper. Hope this was helpful, now we need some hardcore freestyler who knows how toe-side railflips from a heel-side railstand are called and we're golden.
would this trick be aloud at battle at the berrics?
13:10 All my „Rolled Ankle Senses“ were triggered by this one 💀
what are tips to land it
insane trick!
But im disapointet, that the berrics loss never is adressed...
would have loved to hear some thoughts / interview / insides
cheers
keep ur good work up :)
Imagine pulling that out in a game of skate!
2onunicycle kill the comparision to show this versoix's "spinvanne"
i smoked circa 2000 joints in this place 🎉😂❤
Is that board available to purchase?
That's a super rad trick, but a butterflip is too truck.
