Very clever! People that complain about how long it takes you to make the jig aren’t considering the fact that once you make them you will always have them. Seems like a great system to me.
Quick question: as you round-off the corners by hand with sandpaper, how do I ensure that the radius that the jig puts on the tenon will match that in the mortice? Thanks.
Veramente grazie 🤗
Since you are using a 1/4 inch straight bit only means you are using the shank to rub against the guide. Won't this cause friction against the bit causing it to potentially heat and burn your guide? Also it looks like you extend the shank very far out. How much of the bit shank are you actually gripping in the collet?
It's actually better to use a bit with a bearing. For those who don't have one, I've shown that you can also use the bit that came with the trimmer. The length is not a problem, and it is firmly held by the collet.
@@twcdesign I'll give it a try. Nice design for sure. I would be more comfortable with a bigger router with a larger bit shaft diameter. I usually do things with hand tools since I don't make many iterations, but this seems versatile enough to build.
excellent - very well thought out & precise - those who follow your designs should'nt have any problems producing tenon cuts with extreme accuracy - many thanks for enlightening us on how to do this !
@twcdesign Hi! thanks a lot!! You are a genius. Not only for this one but for all other things you do. Thank you very much for sharing your work with all of us. Big hug from Argentina! :)
Reason: Because a wide tenon-mortise joint won’t work in a narrow piece of wood and a narrow tenon-mortise will be too weak for bigger designs. 😉 Kind regards Anders Sweden
@coppulor6500 Mortising jig on a table saw or on a band saw. Best to save the router for things that can only be done with it. The router bit has less cutting service and therefore will dull much more quickly. There are lots of videos showing the other approaches.
from the mathematician's standpoint i adore this technique because at that point you have frontloaded all of the precision work. imagine you have apprentices working with you to complete orders - the result would be foolproof every time. incredibly sleek and hardly takes up any space in the workroom

Can you identify the router bits that you use for this jig? Many thanks!
@@twcdesign thank you!
@@twcdesign thanks a lot 👍🏻

9:38 That snap when the joint completes is the most satisfying sound in woodworking.
You didn’t convince me to build it but I can’t deny your instruction quality. You’re great at making videos.👍
My new favorite woodworker. By far. All your work is truly sick! Love it! I’m glad the algorithm made our paths cross.
Very clever! People that complain about how long it takes you to make the jig aren’t considering the fact that once you make them you will always have them. Seems like a great system to me.
Wow, every time wow. Thanks for sharing all your KREATIVITÄT (sry switzerland, my english is bad)
The mortise jig should just be on the other side of the tenon insert, so you can just flip it around and it would be reversed.
Brilliant design. Now we need a mortise jig to complement this one 👍
Very nice it looks fast to set up and very accurate.
Quick question: as you round-off the corners by hand with sandpaper, how do I ensure that the radius that the jig puts on the tenon will match that in the mortice? Thanks.
Great work, and thanks for the video.
Where can I have the plans for this jig?
Genio genio genio genio!!!😮😮😮
Yesss been waiting for the full ideo on the jig, thank you!
Awesome jig, you are a genius my dude. Thanks
From where you've bought this tape, can you give us a link 👏
THX in advance
Cheers from 🇦🇹
Thanks very much for every detail congratulations 🎉🎉🎉

Your work is fantastic. Congratulations!
Wonderful, this one I’ve got to make.
How about the drill bit you use. May we know the link where you bought it?
I'm interested too

What is the reason for the two side wings to protrude slightly, instead of being flush (3:39)?
I think it’s so that the blank for the tenon can be put right against the jig accurately each time?
I want to know also! I think it has to do with helping the screws to hold better

I could have made 4 huanched mortice and tenon joints buy hand and accuret by the time you messed about .
An old carpenter 😅
What are the drill bits you use? They seem nice..

I am with you there. I would definitely do a bit of bulk waste removal before stressing a trim router motor/bit like that.
It's actually better to use a bit with a bearing. For those who don't have one, I've shown that you can also use the bit that came with the trimmer.

cute enough. a bit fussy. I will stick to my table saw's tenoning jig.
Bellissimo. E dove sono i progetti?
🗣Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with the world.🍻🍻🛠✌🏽
Beautiful what do you use to mark the pieces
Perfeito !!! Um Dia também chegarei nesse ponto ! Grato pela " dica" !!!
As always a brilliantly made jig thankyou
Now I know this job requires a lot of meticulousness. especially in 7:36
Nice video. I like your wood clamps, who makes them. Thanks.
Beautiful. It makes such neat joints!
3:53 why would you choose the bit without the bearing?
For the slots (mortise)
Great idea and well executed.

Hello. Amazing tenon jig. How may I get the technical drawing so I could do it myself? Thanks!!

Astonishing precision.

Hi,
I have watched the plan video which is great, but is there a drawing posted anywhere?
Thank you
Looks overengineered to me. Can't understand, he came up with a number of templates - what's the big deal?

Cool, you built a homemade MFT.
I like all your videos
Very smart. Great design.
Great stuff!
It's Easier using saw and chisel...
Excelente 😮🫡🫡
thank you its an amazing jig
Parabéns, excelente jig
Nice
What about longer pieces of wood?
You can set up at 90 degrees and put the wood along the workbench. Bit more difficult to keep steady though.
Very good 👍
Genial sistema!!!
Pure genius!
Please I must know why do you angle the cuts between the holes!!!?
The layout measure what size plywood how thick ,wide and long ,also all hole layout mark ????? 🤔
Wow 👍👍
Ty for this awesome jig. Genius
Brilliant.❤

Excellent!
Effective, but the highest dust production of any technique for this purpose. I think other approaches are better.
Such as? I'm a newb to mortise and tenons

..morsetti troppo alti 😂
You can do the same to the hole, having a guide as well
You know you’re taking away business from Leigh tools and their frame mortise and tenon jig.
Sensacional!

Thanks for your sharing, really helpful to beginner.
Very impressive, but I do it a lot faster on the tablesaw.

Sensacional 👍🏻
