For vintage items with a smell, you can try spraying them with vodka - just decant (cheap) vodka into a little spray bottle and mist and allow to dry. Doesn’t always work, but it’s gotten that “vintage” smell out of things I’ve bought secondhand. It also works on delicates - I spray my blazers down after I wear them to extend the time between dry cleanings. Good for your wallet and the environment! Very cute bag… it looks like the those spots are from the handle pressing on the suede being flapped over. Try lightly brushing it was a suede brush.
