Building an Easy Scuba Tank Rack for a Boat
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 лип 2023
- Easy to make and install/remove PVC rack for scuba cylinders. Attaches to the holders under the gunwale on a center console.
Materials (using 1" PVC pipe):
4 x 7" PVC
5 x 8" PVC
1 x PVC length needed to secure under gunwale length
5 end caps
4 Tees
1 90 degree elbow
3 x stainless eye bolts (www.amazon.com/dp/B07G212F6H?...)
4 lengths marine bungee (www.amazon.com/dp/B0000AXTIH?...)
5 small stainless steel screws
PVC glue
Very clever, but simple! The fitting to the boat won't work with my boat, but the overall concept has got me thinking. Thanks.
Glad it helped! Let me know what you build.
Would love to see how they handle on the water mate when your on the plane
I’ll post an update when I take it out next.
@@reefball1 awesome be good to see I'll be doing the same as yours cheers
Update-the rack works great on the ocean. I inserted a thick wooden broom handle from home depot into the long PVC length to ensure it had extra strength (not sure if it needs it). I also added a couple extra longer bungees to hold up cylinders that are attached to BCDs and regulators.
@@reefball1 awesome thank you very much for the update I'm definitely going to give it a try myself cheers
How far does your long pvc pipe sit under the gunnell? Also, do you think the screws in the rods holders will be strong enough? Any changes you would make now?
