I know all about getting frustrated with sewing into dark fabric. I finally stopped and let it sit for 24 hours. The next day things went much smoother. Great advice, thanks!
Your instructions are always so easy to follow. I also thank you for sharing all your knowledge. And by keeping your videos short we can go back alot easier to watch them!
Hello Dawn, I am a new subbie, I am so going to start using the paperclip idea... my Lord, that alone will stop a lot of cursing... lol... and the knots on the outside when covering it is a brilliant idea... always trying to find a different way to disguise the ends inside... so glad I started binge watching you to catch up... Hugs and Blessings Lovely...
Great tutorials! Love the fabric. Good tip about using tissue paper to leave in too. I agree with the 5 holes. I have been using 5 for awhile and find the pages are in much tighter.
Dawn, thank you so much, for showing us this, and the tip about using the paperclip to secure the thread, is so awesome 👏. What have you called the new puppy 🐶. I really really love 💕💖💕 dogs 🐶 so I really really don’t think your nuts. Thank you so much xxx Mags
Need to find me one of those zero centre rulers :) I Will save cardboard from different packagings that look 'cover worthy' to give a bit of body to the cover. I like that tip about the paper clip as well. Have you ever used Crochet cotton for your thread? I find that has a good strength to it, especially if I double it when I use it to sew. Bees wax - the tamer of all threads, great and small.
Yep! A zero center ruler makes things a lot easier. I used crochet cotton in this journal ( ua-cam.com/video/yyidy-MIRkg/v-deo.html ) since I was leaving the binding threads exposed on the spine
I like the paperclip idea, thanks for that tip. Could you share a link to the ruler you used, please. I can't find that exact one. I like it better than others that showed up when I searched. Looking forward to the next video 😊. PS ... Happy Halloween 🎃
www.amazon.com/dp/B00167YOHQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I bought mine in amazon but you can probably buy elsewhere. It's a Tim Holtz brand ruler. I've used many many different rulers but this is my favorite

Thanks so much Dawn, I have one question, how many papers did you use in your signatures ? , Good luck with your puppy, what's her name? tfs...Hugs....Mary
Hi Mary! Most of my signatures have around 10 pages or papers. Making 40 sides. Puppy's name is Carly. Her golden retriever big sister is 17 months old and her name is Carmen. Carly and Carmen , The Golden Girls. LOL
