Now Poarch's massive fanbase is juicing a pop music career at a scale and pace typically benefitting Disney stars. Unlike the easygoing fun of her TikTok content, Poarch’s work as a singer revolves around dark and mature themes. “Build A B*tch” - already streamed more than 300 million times - tackles misogyny and male gaze. “Living Hell” is a raw portrait of her abusive childhood spent in the Philippines. “Cathartic” is the word Poarch uses to describe its creation. Talking to Footnotes about the video, the former Navy cadet details how yellow was the color of her bedroom, a hue with heartbreakingly negative associations. “Living Hell” is exactly how I would describe my childhood,” she says. As someone who use to be a disliked of Bella, I thought she gained her fame from being just a pretty girl on tiktok.
But Living Hell revealed she is very much a real person who fought against so much.
When an artist is willing to relive their trauma to tell their story to others, i have a deep appreciation as someone who has been through some truely aweful shit.
It also helps that the music is catchy.
I am confident to say I’ve become a fan. From one survivor to another, I’m glad you got to vent with this. I hope you get closer to happiness with each song.

If you go to the actual music video on her yt page and not this, she has commented and explained this video, this song and the meaning, and she there says that it’s still extremely hard for her, and honestly, from someone who has experience similar things but especially the same feelings of being trapped in your own prison from hell, as she wrote in that comment, hours of therapy, tones of meds and so much more and it still doesn’t exactly help, sadly, it’s called trauma for a reason:/ and things that happens in your childhood often forms us to the people we are today and leaves marks:/ I have ptsd, depression, internal stress, anxiety and panic attacks on my papers of what I’m suffering from, I take 3 meds every day and night and yes, they keep me sane enough to kinda keep myself alive, but I still have anxiety almost every day, su!cide thoughts and harm my$elf.. trauma is extremely hard to get over, I been trying every there is to offer for years now but nothing really helps, so I totally agree with you, I hope she will get over it and feel better, she wrote in the comment on her vid that we, her fans, is her best escape which I’m really glad for, but after hearing what she has to say about her past and trauma, and hearing how hard it even was to film this video, I am sadly sure that this Do still bothers her..
