I think Bella does an amazing job at portraying how women are treated in society. All the hidden meanings are insane. I hope more women can be inspired by her music
The ending realization was so well conveyed. Society in most of it's parts programs women to be what they want them to be. There are women who were forced to conform and there are those who resisted. And the end of the day, this conditioning and division of women due to standards and expectations of society pushes them to turn against each other unconsciously, while the main villain - society in all of its discrimination and misogyny, gets away with everything. It is only when we see, as women, that we're all in this together and we should have each other's back that we can actually resist and successfully defeat the villains.
It may just be my own personal interpretation, but I love the moment where the „doll“ who was seemingly programmed to attack Bella happened to stumble upon what is happening in the world outside what is essentially an echo chamber, locked in a box and unable to see the violence and prejudice being performed against her own kind, and she truly opened her eyes, now understanding Bella‘s anger and courage to fight back against those above. It feels so similar to people who grew up the way I did, with conservative Christian parents who pressed the beliefs that women should be the way men want us to be, and I was so heavily anti-feminist up until I turned maybe 14? Cause i had just been raised my whole life to believe that feminism is dumb and unnecessary, when in reality, as soon as i began to crack out of my parents shell of beliefs, my eyes have opened so wide to the problems we face as women and i now fully understand the anger and frustration of all the feminists I used to look down upon when I was young. The story Bella tells with these music videos are so interesting. We see Bella start a rebellion that she ends up not winning (at least immediately.) She even was about to get defeated by Grimes. But Grimes notices all the harm that the people she works for are causing the other dolls and stops. This message, especially in our current political climate is so important.

The ending realization was so well conveyed. Society in most of it's parts programs women to be what they want them to be. There are women who were forced to conform and there are those who resisted. And the end of the day, this conditioning and division of women due to standards and expectations of society pushes them to turn against each other unconsciously, while the main villain - society in all of its discrimination and misogyny, gets away with everything. It is only when we see, as women, that we're all in this together and we should have each other's back that we can actually resist and successfully defeat the villains.

It may just be my own personal interpretation, but I love the moment where the „doll“ who was seemingly programmed to attack Bella happened to stumble upon what is happening in the world outside what is essentially an echo chamber, locked in a box and unable to see the violence and prejudice being performed against her own kind, and she truly opened her eyes, now understanding Bella‘s anger and courage to fight back against those above.
It feels so similar to people who grew up the way I did, with conservative Christian parents who pressed the beliefs that women should be the way men want us to be, and I was so heavily anti-feminist up until I turned maybe 14? Cause i had just been raised my whole life to believe that feminism is dumb and unnecessary, when in reality, as soon as i began to crack out of my parents shell of beliefs, my eyes have opened so wide to the problems we face as women and i now fully understand the anger and frustration of all the feminists I used to look down upon when I was young.
