Thank you for your input. I didn't know whether to add music or not. The video seemed kind of dry, especially during the nutritional information segment. I really appreciate you comment.
@@roberta.edinger9405 I think the music is fine, if anything the volume just needed to be lowered a tad. I think that would be key in striking a balance. Nice review btw
Great Value is very tasty food!!! Hormel is great too, but, in a pinch and to save money I will eat Great Value products! You have to remember GREAT VALUE or Walmart does NOT have it's own processing plant. Walmart pays another well known brand to make and label for Walmart... Soooooo, the question is, WHAT is Great Values hidden real brand? On another note though, I believe Checkers uses Hormel chilly sauce on their hotdogs and if I remember a long time ago, a friend of mine worked at Checkers and told me they use Hormel products............ SPICE WISE, Hormel wins. Price wise, Great Value wins........ "Store brands are usually made by name brand companies. GV peanut butter is made by the same company as Peter Pan peanut butter. Both by ConAgra Foods. GV bread is made by the same manufacturer as Sara Lee products. Sara Lee is currently owned and by Hillshire Brands in North America which also makes GV bread. GV pasta sauce is made by the same people who make RAGU sauces. Currently that is Mizkan Holdings out of Japan. Basically look to see which brand name is on the shelf right next to the GV brands and that name brand company probably also does the GV brand of that product."
I literally had this problem at the store today! I wanted to make nachos but I didnt know which one to buy! Thank you very much, this video was very helpful
Very good review and very smart way how you distinguished by separating the inside and discussing comparing. I always buy Hornell but also buy the cheapose just to experiment. Walmart cheap brand some are pretty good definitely worth the savings
Hormel has 2 different types of chili one with chunky beef a d one with pork and beef together I myself prefer chunky beef yummy 😋 thank you for great review
I recently swapped over to GV, but was eating Wolf Brand. Found that here in 2021 that the GV is thicker now, but still not like the Hormel (this video) or Wolf brand. That said, I found that to be a plus when heating the chili on a burner. The thicker chili you'll definitely have to manage so that it doesn't burn to the bottom of the pan. None of these is going to ever replace homemade chili from a kit or scratch like the Carroll Shelby kits (not sure you can even get those any more). These canned chili for me are not stand alone meals like the kits that use ground beef, pork or a mix of that as 80/20 or whatever. So with these I'm putting it over a hot dog or on a plate of pasta or rice. That's where the GV shines, over rice it's like a Cajun red beans & rice side order from a Popeye's/Bojangles or other spicy Cajun chicken fast food. I definitely only eat my kit recipe chili as a stand alone chili bowl, dipping bread into it. Which leads me to another recipe, a chili filled edible bread bowl (something like sour dough). The GV is competitive, like this video, you'll probably be disappointed with any canned chili and that in itself is a disappointment that it's not your kit made chili.I go with the least expensive of them. With the other more robust canned chili, you can always add some water to it. Inevitably the less runny it is, under the heat, that's gonna eventually dry out and stick or burn to the pan if you don't stay on top of it. If the GV is a substantial savings for the can of it, can you get 2, maybe even 3 for the price of the Hormel can. And now you're feeding more folks as a family. Nutritionally they appeared to be close, but the Hormel with more ingredients had a little more nutritional value. That can be a bad thing too though, maybe your diet and what else these chilis go onto as a topping starts to exceed your daily calorie counts ?
Interesting video and well done. However, I came on here looking for a good canned chili. I just ate the Walmart Great Value and I didn't like it so I imagine I won't like the Hormel either. I'll go on exploring.
GREAT VALUE !!!!!!
Nice video! I think it’s better without the background music, but maybe that’s just me.

Maybe harmonica music
How about Mariachi music?
I think 'Dark Side Of The Moon' for next time............🤣
IMHO, the cold taste test is the definitive test.
Agreed.

We love Great Value chili for 99 cents a can.
I was surprised just how good it was for the price.

Cheap doesn’t mean poor quality; and it could always be a GREAT VALUE👍🏽
Glad it was helpful!
thanks for the review
No problem!

Unlike some big name brands... Great Value sour cream doesn't have guar gum....sometimes Walmart is better than more expensive brands
yup i would say you were right on this great video
Glad you think so!

Wow! Thanks for the information!
The hormel is my favorite 😍🤤 especially on hotdogs
It's also good on Chili Cheese Frito burritos!
That sounds really good right now. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you
Hormel chilli + Oscar Meyer hot dogs + buns = 2 minutes in heaven you aint an american until you had this !
Totally agree!
It takes you two minutes to eat a hot dog? Amateur 😂
Sonic The Hedgehog approves!
Nice and cool video I liked it
The Soy Flour would be used as a thickener. You can't have it both ways.
great value might be thinner, but has better beef, better flavor, better price and most importantly, no soy filler... GV all the way
I love Great Value products...
Me too.
Growing up I always liked can foods it's not so bad my parents always working and every now and then I would make some can food
Thanks for sharing and for watching.
I use to like Hormel Chili but it taste nasty now
Thanks for your input.
I found out from a comment thread the Great Value is made by Hormel for WalMart.
Most likely thicker because of the Soy Flour.
Seems plausible to me.
Wow the hormel can comes at
$3.50 to Nicaragua
I bought the one without the beans
Thanks for your comment. Hope it was good.

I appreciate your comment and I hope you can find a favorite.
Campbell's brand canned chili beans is similar to what you get at Wendy's fastfood.
@@sonofadeadbeat3051 I'll check that out
Definitely soy is bad. I always check for that.
Dude..........LOL if it's that close why spend almost twice as much for the Hormel. That's a no brainer.
Put some minced sweet onion in it Yummy Soy will make your pepper stand up.
50 cents?!? It's $1.70 today 😭
You sound like @luckypennyshop’s dad
Actually, @luckypennyshop’s dad sounds like me. Thanks for noticing.
