- Peppermint Dreams were inspired to write Bonded by Blood after a very chaotic gig in 1968. Apparently, some bad acid trips had circulated amongst the crowd, causing mass hysteria. That night would come to be known as the most violent night of the flower power era, with 28 confirmed deaths which included 2 decapitations.
In 1984, Exodus frontman Paul Baloff discovered a live recording of the infamous Peppermint Dreams show and was inspired to write his own song based around the incident. However, he found it much easier to just take the original Bonded by Blood lyrics and get the guys in Exodus to write new music for it.

I will say.. you amazing taste in music... i LOVE this song!
This is Bloody Fantastic!
I seen them live in 69 on a acid trip.
🤘💯🤫
Genius!!! Gorguts, Morbid Angel or Sepultura next perhaps?
Morbid Angel and Sepultura are on my list. Gorguts would be awesome if I can find a style to fit their lyrics with.
@@RetroRarities1960 Sepultura on bossa nova would be interesting (By the way, they recorded a bossa nova mock song for a TV commercial, named Coquinho)
@@festafunerea Thanks for the info about Coquinho. I'd never seen that before. A Bossa Nova version of Territory should be up in the next couple of days 😁
Was THIS tune that song track, to 'BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOGS'? Keep up the good music.
It's quite possible it may sound similar. I was after a Strawberry Alarm Clock vibe with this song and they did appear on Beyond the Valley of the Dolls soundtrack.
Busted or The Lonely Boys next?
What???
Lol AI can do a lot of things. But I wish a disclaimer was required for AI because so many people think it's real
I know that not everyone will read the channel description but I do have an AI disclaimer there. Plus I do like to make the video description silly enough that most people should realize it's satire. Glad you enjoyed it 😁
@@RetroRarities1960 Yeah I totally feel for it until I read about the decapitations lol
