Suspension oils. Best choice?

    Ok I have a question. If you can't get the fork oil recommended by the manufacturer, in this case a 10wt cSt of 32.2 @100C and 8.4 @40C Which cSt variable should you look at? as some other brands have a cSt close to that of the 40C but not to that of the 100C. For example a Motul Medium/Heavy has a cSt @40C of 8.3 which is close to the recommend oil but the 100C cSt is 57.1

      Hi!
      The viscosity test for oils comes from engine oils, that’s why I guess it’s applied for any other kind of automotive oil.
      About your question, for forks I always compare viscosities at 40 degrees because it’s closer to the operating temp of the oil in the fork. It will never grow to 100 degrees, so 40 it’s a good point for me.
      The opposite happens with the shocks. They usually work at higher temps because they are closer to the engine and without cooling airflow, so they are more likely to work close to 100 degrees.
