I really enjoyed the video. It was excellent. I think it proved that some of the less expensive batteries are still good quality.I think it would be interesting to lot of us cheapskates to test some Amazon lipos. I have one suggestion or request. I am a very old guy and I worry about safety. I've done some stupid things in my life. When you're doing speed runs I would suggest that you don't have your son or anyone else laying down next to the track with the radar gun. If something goes wrong and it veers toward him lying down, it would be difficult for him to get out of the way. At fifty mph or higher that could be bad.
Sheesh those basher batteries are nuts I been doing alot of research comparing the 2 batteries and the gensace have some serious power. I'm glad I went with those gensace can't wait to get them. Good video homie.
As mentioned previously, missing the point of C-rating all together. You can not compare C-rating if you are not using batteries with the same mAh, the C-rating is in relation to the mAh rating. The Gens Ace Basher 6800mAh 120C can deliver (if there claiming is true) 6.8A x 120 = 816A (yeeh right) while a Spektrum SMART 5000 3S 100C can deliver (if there claiming is true) 5.0A x 100 = 500A (still bye, bye ESC since the biggest Spektrum ESC can only handle 160A). Since the Gens Ace Basher is 6800 mAh it need to back down to 73.5C to be equal in power delivery to the 5000 mAh 100C Spektrum.
I will take HRB any day of the week. They are cheap/ long lasting and reliable. I cant find a reason why to buy a branded lipo for twice the price of an HRB or any other small brand lipo
Mark, the ESR Meter Mark ii is the best tool hobbyists have to test LiPo batteries. This tool tests internal cell resistance and C ratings. It gives a better picture of a batteries overall health than a charger does. I highly recommend anyone into RC have one in their tool boxes.
Gens makes good stuff. Another battery I like to run is the Sundapow batteries. I have a 2s lipo, 8000mah, 130c. I also have Gens shorties 2s with 5500mah, 100c. These have much more power than most 2s and take heavier gauge posts for the battery leads. The way I see it, the higher the Mah and C, the better.
I just ordered a Arrma Outcast 8s day before yesterday. Would be a good battery to look into in both a 4s and a 3s pack. I also just ordered two Smart 30c 5000 4s packs with the RC Club points I accumulated and only paid $68 for a pair. I would have gotten 50c or 100c packs but all of which are on back order. At least packs with the balance lead. I've not yet purchased a G2 charger yet and buying a G2 50c or 100c (were the only ones in stock for the G2) would be counterintuitive. I can also use the smart batteries in my Super Rock Rey which is why I wasn't so hesitant about only 30c packs. I've been needing new packs for quite some time, but have been more into gassers than electric.
It is nice that your Son backs you up on these test events. I just did a battery review like this on my channel. I’m 1 person most of the time so the Skyrc GNSS is perfect like what someone else has already commented on. You ought to get one Bro. They rock when it comes to data and are real easy to use.
Evan is a brave trust worthy soull to take a chance of taking a 57mph RC car to the face laying on the corn like that lol Now that's dedication to the hobby right there folks 🔥👍 Those Basher batteries surprised me Hard Core RC did a vid on some basher versus racing batteries It's worth checking out They jumped a Kratan EXB 59ft high ✌️
I bought 2 of those bashing batteries to run 6s in my maxx and man I love them my maxx is wicked with those batteries. I was using 2 5000mah 100c 3s zeee batteries and I can tell a big difference between the 2 it’s definitely faster and I get a lot of run time.
my son has an arrma senton 3 s and he is using the gens ace 3 s 8000 mah 100c lipo in it and that thing has more power than it knows what to do with it just make sure you get it strapped in tight if you don't and take a hard tumble you will split the case open
My dad used them in his Spartan and they were so strong they literally smoked the esc. He had an esc cooling line split at the rudder. It was the first run with the RC Boat Bitz adjustable trim tabs. He had the 3s 100c 8000 mAh ones
You can also get a water bottle cut the top off and put your motor in the water run it half speed for 1-3mins and you will see all the dirt get cleaned out ✅
@@Clavitz1 I purchased 4 Zeee 3s, 50c, 4500mah softpacks from Amazon for 88 bucks total and I have been using them for 9 months so far. They all have at least probably 30-40 charges each. I live in 100° weather and bash them in my Typhon 6s, my Typhon 3s and my Velinion Slash and they are still running as strong as the day I got them. Very fast. And they stay ballanced nicely. I do take very good care charging and storage charging them so maybe that's key. However Zeee batteries have done me well. I highly recommend them.
C ratings are directly related to mah. Testing 6800 120 c against a 50 c 5000 mah spectrum is super lopsided. The spectrum 5ks 50c max power output, would match a 6800 30 or 35c. You should be able to see a huge difference in punch. The high c ratings should show itself under very high loads. Overgear that car, then check top speeds. You should see a bigger difference if the c ratings are true...
C rating is like the size fuel pump on your full size race cars you can’t run a top fuel car with small block Chevrolet fuel pump because it can’t supply the volume of fuel those 12000 hp require.
You can't shoot a radar gun on an angle like that because you're picking the car up while it's accelerating not at top speed. Big fan just throwing in my 2 cents
Man I run 25c 5000 3s traxxas in my Revo 2 stock I run hard. For a good 25-30 minutes..I run with my nephew he has a MAXX and runs expensive 100c batteries I won’t name andI constantly out run him by at least 5-10 minutes. You can bash with lower c batteries all day. He came from the 1/12 carpet track world and it doesn’t translate over to bashing. In my humble opinion.
C = discharge rate so lower C batteries will always run longer, but higher C batteries also help me do flips much more easily with the immediate punch (if that’s your thing)
This is basically a advertisement paid for by Gens Ace, they been giving out lipo's left and right and nobody actually really tests them they just praise them, how about we do a comparison in a brushless boat wide open until lvc and check runtime, temps, and actual capacity.
So your criteria for " best " battery is higher top speed run at full charge . Aren't there several other considerations to test before awarding the title to this new battery ? I'm brand new , you've been around . This sounds like a premature conclusion I'd make .
And thats not even the freaking speed gearing dude. Speed gearing will hit probably 65mph. its the fastest 3s basher in term of speed. The traxxas cars claim also 60-65mph BUT you hove to buy the pinion and change the spur gear to reach that speed. Its like trying to fit 5 superchargers in one engine vs one who just needs 2.
For 2-3 mph its still not worth it. I wont buy any branded lipos until they get to the range of budget lipos. The budget lipos for 1 have betetr warranty and customer service than any branded lipo. They last longer from my experience so far wiTh them Too. Never had one puff on me yet. I cant justify to buy 2 3s lipos for 130$ here in canda when i can get 2 same specs for 80-90$

You really need to get a gnss speed reader it can also show acceleration

I picked up two my self a few weeks ago. I been liking them a lot. The fit on the vortek is perfect.
What’s the run time with them on the vortek

Agree with you great batteries had my bashing 3s for 2 years still perfect

I got a goldbat 5,200 80c 3s lipo for 23$
57 mph on stock gearing that’s pretty dang good those batteries are very nice looking too

Sold just ordered two of them….
Mark you have to get a losi mini t brushless!
I got two venom 3s 5000 mah 35c for my kraton because that’s all the hobby had, also going to use them in my infraction
It is nice that your Son backs you up on these test events. I just did a battery review like this on my channel. That’s just flat out impressive 👍🏾 Damn

Those Basher batteries surprised me
Hard Core RC did a vid on some basher versus racing batteries It's worth checking out They jumped a Kratan EXB 59ft high ✌️
Proof is in the video. Want to see long term and storage of these batteries.
Amazimg results i wonder how your running that much c when the max is supposed to be 50c according to the owners manual
Yep more amp's means better acceleration and better top speed as there is less voltage sag.
I bought 2 of those bashing batteries to run 6s in my maxx and man I love them my maxx is wicked with those batteries. I was using 2 5000mah 100c 3s zeee batteries and I can tell a big difference between the 2 it’s definitely faster and I get a lot of run time.
Does the smart charger work with these new gens ace batteries? Balancing also
my son has an arrma senton 3 s and he is using the gens ace 3 s 8000 mah 100c lipo in it and that thing has more power than it knows what to do with it
just make sure you get it strapped in tight if you don't and take a hard tumble you will split the case open
Great vid as always! If you need lipo's that are actually worth the money you pay get yourself some Zeee's
You need to try turnigy rapide 5500mah 3s 140c much cheaper so would be good to see the difference if any
My dad used them in his Spartan and they were so strong they literally smoked the esc. He had an esc cooling line split at the rudder. It was the first run with the RC Boat Bitz adjustable trim tabs. He had the 3s 100c 8000 mAh ones
A baterry cant explode an esc
Thanks for the information
U like the spectrum batteries I hear lot of negative saying for the price they don't last any longer then a off brand battery
Gotta do whole shot numbers
How do you take the block out?
Anyone know how to clean a brushed traxxas motor?
Spray it out with electric contact cleaner from the auto parts store let it dry then use some 3 in one oil to re oil the bearings or bushings
You can also get a water bottle cut the top off and put your motor in the water run it half speed for 1-3mins and you will see all the dirt get cleaned out ✅
Think ill stick with zeee 100c lipos for half the cost
The question is how long will those last until the battery is basically unusable compared to these.
Just received those in the mail today for my two Kratons, how do you like them?!
@@Clavitz1 I purchased 4 Zeee 3s, 50c, 4500mah softpacks from Amazon for 88 bucks total and I have been using them for 9 months so far. They all have at least probably 30-40 charges each.

@@TankerChango ok thanks. A few people told me to take caution with inexpensive LiPos so I had to ask.
Try it with the 20t gear👍
Killer hat!
Was all the batteries brand new ?
The difference between the 50c and 100c spektrum batteries is not worth upcharge in price.
Motor: SpectrumFirma 3660 (3200) 100a
Battery: 5000mAh 50C = 250a it's too large for motor
Replace motor and enjoy)
3S TURNIGY RAPID 5500 / 140c from HOBBYKING , $45, ROAR approved, there killer, I also own the Gens Ace Bashing lipos .
Smc or gens ace??
Will that 120c basher battery fit in the arrma Mojave
Yes
Yes it will fit in Mojave~

Aloha 😄😄

Hay Mark how much for the hat?
Stay Safe Stay Healthy
Plz just try see the difference between a bashing rc and a speed rc with those lipos.
with higher amperage you get less voltage sag. Voltage = speed.
Shoot these gens ace 6800 mah 120c batteries are $95 a piece now! I wish I would've caught them when they were $80 smh
You can't shoot a radar gun on an angle like that because you're picking the car up while it's accelerating not at top speed. Big fan just throwing in my 2 cents
What's the internal resistance
Hmm i need to check
Well I can’t they make those batteries for Traxxas as well?
Traxxas are limited to baterries because of their baterry tray design to lock you up with their baterries
Olla😁
