When I made my Argo plow frame. I was worried about the load on the bearing supports, and breaking them. I ended up running 2 supports all the way back underneath and tying in to the hitch on the back. Keep up the great content.
I enjoy your ideas and building projects. Like me, if you have a want and the metal and ability to weld, you can make most anything. And the equally neat thing about doing that is you can customize anything to fit your needs. I do the same. Thumbs Up!
Hallo, mein Freund. Ich verfolge alle Deine Videos. Wieder ein sehr interessantes Projekt und eine saubere Arbeit. Ich freue mich auf weitere Videos von Dir.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
if you want to have the line work for a long time, I would change it for a strap. Have had one on my ATV for the past winter and never had a problem with it anymore. Way better than a rope in my opinion.
Awesome job Donn, now to see it working will be fun!! Looking forward to seeing the fun you will have with the 8x8 snow plow. Stay safe and have fun and Happy Holidays to everyone over there. Fred.
Nice work and nice plow. Do yourself a favour and take off that extra sleeve of protection on the end of the winch line and toss it in the garbage. Tks for sharing
Я увидел русскую Ладу. Если я не ошибаюсь, это она!) надеюсь в скором времени увидим видео про ее восстановление) Крепление для отвала получилось отличное!!!
Good job Donn! Being quite familiar with Argo's , I wouldn't recommend any attachments to the composite body, motor and clutch assembly as it is.., for reasons that it isn't designed or recommended for this application. If it were a consideration.. I would've opted for a snow-blower on the front instead of a plow. With a snow-blower, you do not need tracks. The added weight with a plow and tracks, [possibly counterweights] for traction would be hard on the sprockets and the rest of the running gear components. A decent blower is cheaper and can be mounted on wheels or skis, and it will throw snow further than you can push it. A blower would be more beneficial for use in deeper snow with a small lightweight machine. The only drawback with the blower is that it needs to be raised several inches off the ground for unpaved driveways.
I'm probably not ready for much snow, but hopefully that means we actually get a significant amount this year in Michigan. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year man.
The only thing I might have changed is the washer for the pin. While it is nice and easy. One can get some of that round stock and bend and weld something a bit nicer which will be far thicker and less likely to bend or snap off.
I'd think the longer vehicle with a lower centre of mass would be the better bet. Not that the Bobcat wouldn't do it, but it would probably be a bit of a bucking bronco ride.
Argo frames and wheel mounting areas crack while doing normal Argo stuff! Look at condition before he repaired this one! Now with plow up front it won't last at all!
i think the position of the plow mount tabs is a bad choice, it's going to add torsion to mount on front axel, feel like it would have been better to put plow mount tabs on front leading edge so force is applied straight back into the chassis rather than at an upwards angle
You should have used a hydraulic piston instead of a cable. With the cable its only the weight of the plow holding it down with a piston its the weight of the vehicle.
15:53 I don't think putting the load on one side of the axle is a good idea. Better make it a C shape going around the front axle on the upper side and then continue to grab the same way around the second axle, to spread the load over a larger area of the body.
Only thing I dont get is, why do we always work on snowplows in the winter instead of July when it's nice and warm.. I need one of the hole reaming things, what are they called, hole reaming thing................. I dont celebrate the holidays, I celebrate Merry Christmas aka >> Lk 2:11 {{ For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. }}
Love your channel. Been watching a long time. If I might ask, why leave the channel name permanently on the screen for the entire duration of the video. I personally find it a huge distraction. Not a complaint, just an observation, Forgive me if this has been addressed before. please keep up the great content.

I don't own an Argo, but that was my first thought when I saw how Donn mounted the bracket
Still, Donn is a master fabricator
I hate snow, having a machine like this might temper that hate a little ❤
I love that lads car you have, great job

Perfect design, fabrication, form and function
Merry Christmas🎅🤶🎄⛄❄️🙏🎁
Thank you for sharing this
Vivement que la neige tombe pour un essai !!!! superbe

All the best for you and yours for the Holidays thanks Donn
I hope we get some tracked argo snow action 👍

Thank you for sharing, another great video, always a pleasure watch your video, you are and inspiration 👍👍👍👍
I can remember when we used to get snow here in Northern New York and have it last for more than one day.
Great as allways.
Eventually a connection between the mounts of the Plow and the Winch. To devide the forces.
Clean welds bro very clean. Good choice putting it the Argo. Bobcat would have more weight but the Argos more fun lol
Täitsa nagu päris 😇
Kõva töö 💪💪
Happy Holidays to you too Donn, thanks! 👍💪✌
Well done! Just in time for the next snow fall. Merry Christmas.

For finer adjustment of plow height, add a pulley.
If you get the track conversion for the argo , then that girl will be a beast
Merry Christmas Donn!!!!
My coffee and breakfast+Donn DIY new video on Friday it's christmas before time :) salutation young man !!from Montréal,Québec!!

18:15 important detail is that you need to drill into the plastic on the other side! ;)
I see Donn DIY, I click on like first and then watch the video
Why not mount it too the skid-steer? Heavier and more power and industrial strength
but less fun
Great video
Great vid as always wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄
Next week we're kniting snowchains.. 😂

Another great build!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎆🎇🎉🎊🪅👍❤️📹😃
I would mount it on the bobcat not the Argo
You mean that cast aluminum won't hold up like industrial steel?
Color me surprised
That's why the channel is Called DonnDIY and not Colbytyree2592DIY 😂😊😉

@@creepingjesus5106 I take it you don't have a skid steer
They manufacture plows just for skid steers

EL TRABAJO PERFECTO PERO LOS TORNILLOS MUY CORTOS
Your fabrication work is sublime as always. Is this to keep your UTV free for logging? Happy holidays!
very very good

Didn't you have this on the other tracked machine you built years ago ? I remember the modded winch motor for plow angle video you did for it.
What happen with the cnc plasma?
why you don't use your plasma cnc?
Mr.Donn did you fix the gear in it(or is it the same one)very nice, very nice
Hey Donn... i want to convert my Argo to proper hydrodtatic drive, like the skid steer. What are your thoughts?
Why not just get the track kit and it'll drive on top of the snow - we used to have one with tracks it was a great bit of kit for on a grouse moor
👏👏👏👍
👍💪
I noticed that you have Polish keys, have you ever been to Poland?
I am NEVER ready for winter, hate it...
Didnt know that you can drift an Argo 😂
Only thing I dont get is, why do we always work on snowplows in the winter instead of July when it's nice and warm..

Magnifique

สวัสดีครับ
It's fairly dumb to mount it to cast metal
It is the standard OEM location, though personally I would not use an Argo to push snow.
Cast metal is only between the plow mount and Argos steel body frame.
