Every time you do your tasuki sabaki, you seriously look like a boss! The swift movements and the crisp sounds of the sleeves being secured announce “Get ready! Things are about to go down!”
I'm watching from Kolkata, India. I love the japanese cooking and I like how healthy it is. As a person on weight loss journey, some of these dishes look perfect for me. Your presentation is really good.
OMG, it looks so easy! I'm so going to try making it tomorrow! Ever since I saw an anime with onsen tamago in it (Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi, for those wondering, cooked inside a real onsen, no less!), I always have wanted to make onsen tamago. Thanks to you, Taiji, I can do that now! ありがとうね!
I like the technique for cooking the eggs. That is so easy, but obviously takes a wee bit of practice to learn exactly how long to leave the eggs in the water.
@@taijiskitchen its a long story. I came long way from traumatic obssesive hate for eggs since kindergarten to transform into a beast eating duck embrions and all kinds of eggs 🤭lover.
Hi Taiji! Thank you for another awesome video! :) So when you keep your egg in the fridge for later, I assume you leave them in the shell? Have an awesome weekend.
@@taijiskitchen ooh! Yes for ochazuke! I was under the weather a few days ago and I made ochazuke with umeboshi and it was divine! Would love to see your take on it. Question: Can I eat onsen tamago with ochazuke? Or would it be too strange if I use green tea for the liquid?
@@Icha74 oh, cool! that would have been one of the ochazuke idea. I would not put onsen-tamago to ochazuke, since the half-runny yolk would dissolve in the tea. but if you had the idea, you can certainly give it a try!!
Thanks Taiji さん, love the details and effort put the video がんばれ(^^) *Grin* please teach me how to “tell if an egg is cooked from the outside” as you said in the video 😂
thanx for the request! i will think of some thing. for the time being, you can try this Hiyashi-chuka, a summerly ramen noodle dish: ua-cam.com/video/R-Nlxjtyjcw/v-deo.html
thanx for the request, I already have two with summer veggies, cucumber and eggplant: ua-cam.com/video/XRdG5nYo9NI/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/9SYzdB_-_YU/v-deo.html but I will see if I can make some more.
i cook mine for 17 mins but mine comes out runnier than yours , i guess your eggs were at room temp yet mine were fridge temp. i love it both ways though , there is no way you could make an egg for me not to like
well, it took me also a while to get it right, and also dont succeed every time. so dont give up and just keep trying!! luckily eggs are not expensive and even if you fail, you can still eat the eggs.

I tried making this for the first time 1 month ago and failed. Today I tried making onsen tamago with instructions from you and it was a success.

Onsen tamago 🤔... my new life goal. Arigato bro

Hi Taiji! Thank you for another awesome video! :) So when you keep your egg in the fridge for later, I assume you leave them in the shell? Have an awesome weekend.
oh, yes, of course in the shell. once you crack them open, you gotta eat them right away!
thanx and glad you like it!!
So exited to try this tomorrow ❤️ might have it for lunch
This looks delicious!! Gonna try! 🤤
Thanks for this egg hack because your eggs came out perfect. 👍
hahaha, thanx!
like I say in the video, its a bit too hard cooked than I actually want it to be. so perhaps next time 14 min.
This was beautiful

Are your eggs room temperature or fridge temperature before you put them in the pot?

Are the eggs room temp or just out of the fridge at the start
I was thinking the same..
Can you also make summer dishes?
Yes! Something with summer vegetables!

left mine in the water right after it boiled for 20 minutes and it was still half raw, should I leave it longer
Ahh don't forget the cooked egg white stuck on the inside of the shells!
You're the GOAT for making stuff we can actually cook in US, instead of all these obscure ass ingridents like other cjannels
hahaha, thanx!
thats exactly how and why I am making my videos, so that more people can enjoy Japanese food and more easily!!
O ya, a restaurant in Boston, sells onsen eggs for around $30 a piece.
I have to try this when my chicken start laying again.

Hi, Cold water or normal room temperature water?
cold water, so that it cools faster.
