Hate going to a salon, too. No one ever listens or takes the time to really learn about your hair. They just get involved with their own egos and preconceived notions about the latest trends and how to upsell you, and you end up miserable and broke! Having a stylist as involved and empathetic as this guy would be heaven.
Totally agree! I went to salons for YEARS, never really happy. When I realized they would say how beautiful the cut or color is. It was from the STYLE or color for it's purpose. Not that it looked good on me. But it was how they were trained to cut and color.

There's a weird phenomenon even in women where long hair starts to make you look really old. I just asked my husband if I entered that stage yet and he said no...lol This guy was definitely experiencing it. He looks SOO much younger now. This cut really works for him.
On the contrary, I find that women start cutting their hair shorter and shorter as they get older which does in fact make them look older. With regards to this man's case he looks way better now.

Shorter hair is easier to take care of and as we get older, our hair gets thinner and drier. It is better to go shorter if you can't take care of it. You look older just like this guy did despite not being old. His hair was frizzy, dry and the grays were overexaggerated because of the long hair. That's a precision haircut that was executed to perfection in every way. As a previous poster noted, once the gray comes in, it can make you feel and look older. This cut takes years off the client and highlights his features. The beard is the perfect length, too.

The biggest problem I have with men with long hair is they don't take care of it or they don't know how to, so it tends to just look ragged. When men cut their long hair off, they always look better, more clean and masculine.
Even the dog couldn't believe it lol, his little girl was just freaked out by the big change, she'll love it eventually because her dad looks so handsome. So glad they decided to trim the beard a little more, it completed the whole look nicely, and Dan's hair is looking good! 🙂👍

I did this years ago after having long hair for about 15 years...I went to buy some clippers, came home, and within minutes I went from shoulder length hair to 1/2" hair. It felt amazing and it was very freeing to me. I loved having long hair, but I was ready for a completely new look. I have kept a buzz cut since then. This guy looks great. Very handsome guy.

Another very educational video! I wish he had let you take off the whole beard & stash, too. A buzz cut like that exposes the architecture of the head, and I think with his jawline, having it all clean would have been striking, in a cool way. But of course, I could be wrong.
