Awesome video! I absolutely loved how honest it was and filled with a nice sense of humor. Great work. Also love the Niner bike. I have one just like it.
My wife's colleague rode up there every weekend--for years. The dude broke his hip on that day. [And you inadvertently captured that moment in time via your commentary]. He is a doctor at Beaver Medical group. He had a hair line fracture to the hip, which did not require surgery. He was out of work for several weeks and my wife had to cover his patients. Do you have more footage of the incident? By the way, the old doc doesn't ride that route anymore. His wife sold his bike!!!! Please let me know if you have more footage. We are going to show this clip to him. So, any more footage would be cool. You literally recorded a day that intertwined all of our lives together!!!! That is insane!
Oh wow!! That's insane. We didn't actually get any footage of his crash or group of friends, we felt it would be in bad form to do so-- he looked in so much pain! Best of us to him in his recovery!!
I literally live by prospect park. I ride Elizabeth park and also sometimes by the lds Mormon temple. I plan to ride to kaz ramen in grand terrace for 24hr ramen.
Big Bear is always rough on gravel bikes. I knew Holcomb Creek was a no go, and Clark's grade sucked when I rode it unladen so kudos for making it up that thing with a bikepacking load!
Oh it's the girl from reddit! Nice. I'm slowly getting my gear in and will start doing small vids soon. I'll try to message you when we get ready for Catalina and stuff.
We don't have the GPX but the route is linked in the description! :) Would love to hear what you have planned in the OC. Feel free to message us on IG @christinasooi @jooiride
@@jooiride Very Cool route. I did a similar trip that hooks through Arrowhead and Lucern Valley! Deep Water Canyon is cool. Here is some info on the Orange Crush. Would be easy drive or train ride from Santa Monica to Santa Anna or San Juan Capistrano. Shoot for you guys ride it from the door! I will post shortly in the Stage Coach 400 Facebook Forum. Hi: I literally can't go to angelus oaks . . . the whole place there is on fire. The air down here is even smoky af. I have an ultra heavy 2003 specialized bike. But, I can't f ing go up old 38. No joke, some fvker with a gender reveal party using fireworks started the blaze and the whole mountain is entirely in flames, raging, towering infernal of heat + hellfire.
We always bikepack with a water filter and cleansing tablets to avoid anything potentially bad happening from natural water sources. It's really important to do research about water stops before the adventure and also have a backup plan (i.e. filters) if the original plans don't work out! Lucky for us we came prepared. 💪

How did you treat your water?
We used a water filter that made it safe to drink. We also ride with purification tablets!
@@jooiride Ok, I was curious. That looked like an epic ride that was probably a bit gnarlier than you guys had expected!
What do you use too edit your videos?
We use Final Cut Pro!
@@jooiride thanks

Ugh, I know! It's really super sad! I hope the air clears up, it's bad here as well. Stay safe out there.
That water spot is probably not good to eat.

@@jooiride yes, I know I have been riding for 3 years.
