Ive heard in a tournament, that the direction of your shield only influences in which direction the shell is reflected.
The block chance is purely the result of your shield strength. :)
Shield stacking might be a thing tho, I don't know, I'm a noob ^^"
Stacking shields doesn’t work it says in the setting of the shield (I think) and chance is based on shield strength but there a minimum and max chance of reflection and angle of impact I believe the closer to 45 degrees from the shield thingy the higher the chance the closer to being perpendicular the lower

The UI for shield projectors says that they have a minimum and maximum deflection chance, depending on the angle the shell comes in. Steeper angles make for a higher deflection chance, with a max chance of 40% for a strength 10 shield.
So yeah. Angled shields = good idea.
