I ‘m a DIY nail person (doing my own) and watching your shaping videos has helped me tremendously! I get compliments all the time asking me where I get my nails done and I’m so proud to tell people that I do them myself.😊 When I get stuck with a particular shape I always go back to your videos for a refresher; thank you!
Honestly i am so grateful that you still do these back to 'basic' videos. I go back to watch them ALL THE TIME!. If you can, can you do a video of creating nails to the length your natural nails usuallly are please. Xx
I picked up my hand file and followed along... I wish I could show every one of you how stunning my nails came out. Listen to Suzie when she says it is in fine-tuning the details. I've never worn the almond shape before and now I don't think I can wear anything else. Thanks, Suzie!!!!!!
I have had ballerina/coffin shape for 6 years, then I tried almond shape last summer and now I can’t get over it. It’s just so elegant and beautiful, and I’m like “how could I wear a different shape before?” 😂 so in love with it 💙
I COMPLETELY know what you mean. I was square for many many years, and after I perfected almond, I fell in love with it, but I’ve never got back. I can’t get enough of it!❤️
I attempted to shorten my almond gel extensions, I ended up with coffin. I wasn't upset about it . I have square extensions that are to long, thank you for this video it will help me out so much to get that almond or stiletto shape. Just started out with gel X nails, square nails and gel polish for years. I love that almond shape, so pretty.
Suzie, I have learned so much from your videos! Thank you for always clearly explaining everything. I wanted to ask if you could show us how to make the best nail photographs for the business as yours look flawless everytime! Kisses!
Hi! What if the client wants to do a fill & shorter almond from a medium square? Would you recommend to file the square nail shorter, and then shaping the almond? ☺️ Thank you in advance! 💖
I’m new to applying extensions to my nails, I bought almond shaped ones off a brand I like called ‘mylee’. I find they are personally far too long for my preference and have resorted to cutting them into a square shape to get my desired length. What would you recommend for me to do as I would love to keep the almond shape? I also am not sure whether I should file the extensions before or after curing them on to my nail beds. Thanks ❤
No! I do not. Simply because there is very little nail on a nailbiter for the product to hang onto. And full cover tips have an expectancy of being long. Too long for nail biters. Also the exposure of the underside of the product. Getting onto a nailbiter. Skin on a continual constant basis is a problem. Too much exposure. It’s nothing against the gel X system I’m speaking against full cover tips in general. This is not Brand related. This is the style of tip. I’m suggesting you should not use for a nailbiter..
No! Leave that shine - in fact, if you want to get the most chrome effect out of my specific reflections, nail polish, you want to apply to coats of nail polish to a preferably gel topcoat. So to be clear, finish your natural nails with a topcoat of Gel. Completely cured. Then apply two coats of nail polish color. Make sure it’s dry and then apply a layer of gel topcoat. You will get the most intense chrome shine out of it.
Whenever I change my shape from a square to an almond I end up compromising the sides. Rather than coming straight out, they end up going up. How do I keep this from happening?
I just started doing gel nails and I need help!😭 the main thing I’ve been struggling with lately is color transfer to my top coat, Is that normal ? I know the color gel top layer is sticky but for me it seems like it transfers too much color onto the brush when I try to put on the top coat. Is this normal ? Any tips?
I hope I’m understanding your problem correctly. But if you are transferring gel colour to your topcoat, then your gel colour coat is not being cured properly. Make sure you cure each colour gel layer in between before you put the topcoat on. And if you are curing it in a UV or LED lamp, I would suggest then that the lamp is not curing your product possibly not at all if you’re getting that much transferring. So check the kind of gel that you’re working with and see what lamp you need for that.
@@NailCareerEducation thank you, my lamp works well with my more translucent colors but it could be i need a better one since it doesn’t seem to be curing the darker colors
It's likely high risk with chronic exposure. I just came here to comment on a new study of these UV lamps. Researchers found that they cause DNA damage, genetic mutations and could cause cancer. I got interested in gel polish a few years ago and learned a lot from watching Suzie's channel. I haven't done my nails in quite a while, but when I saw the article about the UV lamps, I immediately thought of Suzie. These lights are dangerous according to the study and shouldn't be used. I'm going to throw mine away. Suzi uses the UV lamps for curing her acylics amd polish more than anyone I've ever watched. She puts her hands under the lights numerous times each time she changes her nail polish or sculpts a new acrylic nail set. This reminds me of the tanning beds people once used. They are UV light as well and a lot of people have gotten skin cancer from using those tanning beds. I hope Suzie will see this and read about that study. I feel very concerned for women who have been using these lights extensively for years.
Great tutorial! I alwsus try to do ballerina or square nails, but then I end up filing it into a almond shape, because I’m not happy with how the other shape turned out, and been doing it the wrong way. Now i learned how to do it in the right way, so thank you for this tutorial.
i always end up doing a mix of stiletto and almond xD make it narrow of right at the free edge instead of leaving it like you did. it can be hard to know when to stop fixing your shape and file the top instead. for the shape look of. but all you need to do is that down the thickness thanks for this video. :) love all your videos and your voice is so calming :)
Are acrylic nails bad for your nails? I have really brittle nails and I’ve tried everything from nail tablets to nail strengthening varnish (expensive stuff) and my nails just don’t last. But would acrylic nails do long term damage? If anyone knows the answer please let me know?
Hi ... from ALL the video's I have watched of Suzie's & I mean ALL - its not the acrylic that would damage your nail, its how its removed(& prep'd). And I can attest to that myself, long story- but its taken me 3yrs to fix my nails with gel & full cover tips, after a BAD removal😔 & if you have weak nails, my personal suggestion is dry removal (ie no acetone soaking) only efiling & hand filing. Xx Good luck 🙃
Fiona has done her homework and very good reply. But yes what damages our natural nails is how we remove all of these products. Doesn’t matter if it’s acrylic or hybrid gel for cover tips, glue hard gel gel polish. If these items are pulled or ripped or scraped too hard on our natural nails, it can damage. Before you do any enhancements on your own natural nails, make sure your natural nails are healed and grown out and healthy. The trick is not to over, file your natural nail, or anybody who’s doing your natural nails you don’t want them to over file or rip anything off. And if you were attempting to learn how to do them yourself, don’t practice on yourself until you’ve learned some techniques first
Can you please respond? I love watching your channel and envy how you make doing your nails look easy, even though you've been doing this for years. I don't know if you've read my request before. Other nail channels who use expensive nail brands have done channels about using nail products from Wish and Ali Express and I was wondering if you could do the same? Make it into a three part series where you use Ali's acrylic one week, then gel the next, then poly gel on the third week? Maybe give your best and worst reviews on some of the products? And they do have EMA monomer from Ali Express. I would love to see it. Also, I have a great idea for doing nails on yourself without ruining your nails.
Why would Suzie use junk out of China? She has used lots of different brands over the years. Look thru her past videos. Encouraging people to use junk/toxic products is not her brand - in my opinion
I like a very soft almond if I get them longer; they feel like they have been around forever (or at least since the 50s since they have that kind of vibe) but they are new and quite classy. Otherwise, I try for ovals though my mostly square nails detest it.
Hello...I am starting to do my own nails..I always have a problem..my nails are wide and curve ..from side to side not from cuticle to tip, making it difficult for me to see & neatly paint the sides..Do you have any tips?

You make it look so easy. Can you do almond shape on shorter nails, I don't let mine get too long
Why must your videos be so therapeutic ❤😊😮
I do this all the time coffin to almond and stiletto to almond….it’s my favorite shape every 💜💜💜💜💜 Thanks for sharing 😊
Almond is one of my favorite shapes when getting tips and in general. Not too sharp, and not too clawy.
Great t timing! I recently went from coffin to almond and this will really help me perfect my shaping next fill. Thank you! ❤️
SHE ACLUALLY HELPED ME BECAUSE OTHER VIDEOS WERE NOT HELPFUL BUT THIS ONE AND IT WAS SO EASY TO DO.
She made it look so easy 😩
Right! I could never! Only shape I can barely make look decent is square 😆
Don’t sell yourself short. Many people cannot accomplish square very well, so patch yourself on the back for that one.
Great info leaving the polish on helped to understand so much better thanks for sharing this. 💜💜💜🤗
Thank you for this! I just tried to bring my squares to almond and ended up with botched stilletos. You're a lifesaver
The editing on your videos are awesome! The visual inclusions are very helpful thank you!
My favorite nail shape! Thank you for the tutorial, I keep mine almond shape but sometimes file wrong and don't know what happened.
It’s amazing how just a slight wrong move in the wrong direction can throw the whole shape off. So I hear you’re coming from.
I'm amazed at how easily the shape came to me after following along! Going to have gorgeous almond gelly tips done at home thanks to you! :)
Almond is my favorite shape.
Thank you for these GEMS 💎 Suzie! & Cameraman love the added graphics that help explain what Suzie's saying xx🙃
Thank you, you really help me.
it's so hard to get the different shapes of nails can you show us more

Her whole decor is giving Shrek, fairytale creatures, and never never land 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞❤️❤️❤️❤️ obsessed
Shrek?!?
I feel like almond has been trending a lot lately! I’m going to try this out!
YESSS!; please go for very long and pointy almond shaped fingernails as they induce the most intense pain and pleasure when giving suppositories 😍
Love watching you!!!xx😊
Your voice is so soothing 😌
My favorite shape!
Great explanation! Could you please show how to reshape an almond nail after shortening and fill? Thx😘
Outstanding
Suzie, I have learned so much from your videos! Thank you for always clearly explaining everything. I wanted to ask if you could show us how to make the best nail photographs for the business as yours look flawless everytime! Kisses!
Oh, that is a great idea. Maybe I will do that on one of my shorts.
your square nails look soooo good. i wish my wife had nails like this.
If you like square nails so much you can always file your own square 😊

Beautiful

Hiii, I love your videos. I have a question, do you recommend gel-x extensions for nail biters? ❤

@@NailCareerEducation Thank you so much!! Would small press ons be better to let the nails grow?
Hi Susie, can you achieve this with a bit shorter nail ? To go from square to almond ?
saved my life, my nail tech refused to switch my shape from coffin to rounded but she made the coffin way too square! i hateeee square nails
Thank you very much for such detailed video ❤ That is exactly what I need 🥲
You are great! 😇😇😇
Can you tell me the varnish you have on x. Thanks for everything ❤
Hi suzie when u use your nail poilshes do u have to take the surface shine off the fake nail ? X
No! Leave that shine - in fact, if you want to get the most chrome effect out of my specific reflections, nail polish, you want to apply to coats of nail polish to a preferably gel topcoat. I've always loved tye almond shape, but never been able to wear them on myself. It was in the top all the time lol. I can't wait to try again!!!

Ugh I always do this too 😭 I don’t want talons
By far the best shaping video I have seen!
Thank u for making perfect almond
Omg!! my arm and always ended up looking like stilettos and I honestly just gave up. Thank you so much. I can’t wait to try this

What about short ballerina? ❤
I have c curved nails almost [ curve and when I do this it looks like someone took a bite from my nails when looked at the side
I’d have to draw it on there and then file it. Otherwise my nail would look like ⤵️⤴️↩️↪️

It’s meant to be funny cause it’s unexpected. It’s not for everyone
I love Almond shapes, I have a square/coffin combination, after always getting almond. They're beautiful, but I missed my almond nails.
