I was watching a UA-cam video that discussed GLP-1 Plateaus and Insulin resistance. Thought you might be interested. It’s called Mastering GLP-1 Medications with Dr. Nathalie Niddam and Dr. Gus Vickery.

I got the "you have to do 6 months of documented fitness/diet, have to have a BMI over 35, etc." for Blue Cross/Blue Shield Anthem. Basically unless I go to a very unhealthy place and do documented fitness and diet instead of on my own, I'll never get insurance coverages for these drugs. That's what has driven me to compounded (that, and can't find the drugs at any price most of the time). Right now I'm as healthy as I've ever been, but I don't know that I can maintain this without at least a bit of Tirzepatide. All of this is definitely going to drive people into some weird places in terms of using off label, gray market, or "research only" stuff.

Thank you for clarifying which BCBS is sending out this letter. I know it can start to be spread wider but all the videos no one would state which one this is for.

Sidenote (and NSV) - Was kinda sick recently (side-effects! 😱). But by Thursday, I’d mostly recovered.
And then, out of nowhere, I finally realized, “Hey. I can probably hike hills again.” It’s weird. It just *never* occurred to me ‘til now, 10 months in.
I guess you hit a certain point of weight-loss where your subconscious just nudges you and says, “Yeah. You can do this again. Dummy.” 🤷‍♂️
So I tried. Very familiar short loop, out in the boonies a bit, but a *steep* hill. ⛰
Could barely do it at 240 (which is when I started doing it). Did it for several years. Stopped doing it when the weight jumped up to 275. That was almost a decade ago. 🗓
But now I’m 220. So I went and tried. 🥾
I’m just barely old enough now that a decade could maybe make a major difference in how much wind I have. Sad to say. 😢
But, nope. In fact, it was the *easiest* that hill and that loop has *ever* been. On the first try. Weight matters more than age, apparently. Cool. 🙏
And, I saw five deer and two coyotes. Kind of a further reminder of stuff I’d given up. 🦌
As I lose (hopefully) more, will be interesting to see what else my sub-con reminds me to do, that I had forgotten all about. 🤔
And, I get the feeling that this is pretty common. Yeah?

Was that the retatrutide reversing fatty liver w the glucagon receptor or agonist? Very interesting. That can really save alot of lives. Very hard to live, let alone lose weight with a damaged liver.

Eh Dave, don’t worry… that 10K subs mark will be hit sometime ‘tween now and the 4th of July, no matter what. ✅
Even if you were to have Jillian Michaels on as a guest. 😳

My NASH/MASH has been completely reversed with the help of Tirzepitide. My fear is I’m on Zepbound with all these new rules will I lose my coverage because it’s Zepbound? This is scary times It has helped me so very much and can’t afford to lose coverage I’ve never felt better than I do now. And was prediabetic have PCOS insulin resistance high triglycerides high cholesterol high blood pressure my life was awful medically before this medication I don’t want to have to go back to that!

I agree that other insurance customers shouldn't be charged more for obesity if they don't need it. Maybe it should be a rider on the policy if you have an obese BMI, say over 35 if that is the line in the sand they have chosen.

What is going on in Oklahoma you were mentioning? Please do share. Maybe this will help me. I'm so so desperate to feel better. I don't even care about the weightloss anymore at this point, lol. I just want my pain to get better again and my inflammation to go back down.... like it was when I was on mounjaro. I cannot keep living like this and idk how much longer I can do this.

I wonder if the reason my autoimmune conditions were so much better while I was on mounjaro is because they help with fibrosis....I have limited scleroderma which causes fibrosis throughout various parts of the body.... mostly the skin, muscles and connective tissues for me...... I am in so much pain again since I've not been able to get it due to costs and Indians won't cover it for me even for metabolic syndrome even though they claim they do cover it for that.... my rheumatologist wants me back of it but there is nothing I can do to get it

Hila monster bites don’t cause low blood sugar. Neither does a straight up shot of a GLP-1.

      Should have said “lower”

    • @ManOnTheMounjaro
      @ManOnTheMounjaro  17 днів тому +3

Exenatide is an analogue of GLP-1, developed from exendin-4, the peptide isolated from hila monster venom. It mimicked human GLP-1 (which lowers blood sugars by stimulating beta cells in the pancreas). It just had a much longer half life than natural GLP-1. It’s literally the foundation of these meds.
