I loved this video best review I've ever seen keep going. I needed to decide between this and the arctis 5 I now know I want this thanks so much your awesome.
Thanks this is a very informative video covering everything properly. Having just ordered these I was looking for some general guide videos and this is by far the best I've come across. Nice one 👍
I’ve used this headset for about 3 years literally no complaints battery life is great sound is great with the right settings I play Csgo and the default settings weren’t great but I switched some up and it’s amazing I sometimes where hat and it’s still comfortable overall great headset
Hey, I saw that nobody touches on this aspect in reviews so I wouldn't know who to ask.. The volume controller on the left is for the headset itself, right? Meanwhile the one on the right controls the game and chat drivers volume I assume.
I wear glasses and got them recently. They are very comfortable. The build is nice and I like how it adjust with the strap. To me it's better than others that you have to pull the ends up or down my other skullcandy headset broke with those adjustable features. Without using their software it's already pretty nice but I'm a customizion nut so I can't wait to mess around with the software. I don't have the same issue with the ears or while wearing glasses. I do wish it was fully Bluetooth so I can use them with my phone but not to big a deal. Over all love them as a midrange headset.
I had this headset for five years and was my main headsets for 3 years so longevity is fantastic. I'm currently using the Steelseries arctis 9x as my main headset Steelseries is favorite brand. And I've used razor logitech turtle beach and rig. Rig is also another very nice brand.
Great review! Was struggling with getting the sound right at CS:GO, first checking different EQ settings on the net, but found just an ever easier solution, just keep it simple, either go DTS and pick Game preset or just play default, works great. Or do you have a better option? :) What is confusing is the two volume wheels, the one at left is for volume, the right one, also adjust the audio, not only the chat sound (thx for explanation btw), so it's confusing. Also you get two options at the colume option on your screen's taskbar, 'chat' and 'game', keep the chat one enabled as output/ input using Discord or so. The ski-mask is something you don't really feel, completely new feature for me, but works great, floats with the hair, but the earpads are not the biggest, if you got bigger grown ups ears, it does fit, but I'd wish for bigger space, test it before you buy is my tip. The software is pretty easy and good, should have some FPS EQ option just like Logitech got. Mic works good, having sidetone disabled and the mic volume in the software on like half, works great, the only issue as you said, is that if you touch the mic it does a scratch sound. Also a pro is that it is adjustable, like a cable. If the battery indicator doesn't show up or showing a red light even you've fully charged it, just put the charging cable into the headset and to your PC while having the software open, make sure you pair them first and update the software. Been using threaded headsets before, so boring with the constant cable management, so investing in these, yes, a good move for the money and when battery low, just keep charging cable and fast net adapter close to you.
thanks for the review man. im very close to pulling the trigger. Once question, can the headset play audio while having it on charge? Does the charging cable act as a pass-thru or does it use the wireless feature while on charge? Some times I want to use the headset wirelessly and other times plugged in. Hope you can answer!
The game/voice chat is useful on pc as well. I have my discord set to come out of the chat channel (there are 2 separate audio channels on pc) and then everything else set to the game channel. Can easily lower discord sounds if im trying to hear something in a game and your friends/guild arent being quiet lol. or if a game/video is overly loud when youre trying to listen to what someone is saying.
bro i have that problem and my mic is to quiet but i have max voice volume and i return them and got a new pair and i still have the same problem i can’t hear footsteps and people can’t hear me when i talk
I’ve just got the Arctic 7x for Xbox one & Series X I love it. it’s just slightly to bass heavy for me. Which Eq switch is it I adjust to reduce bass a little. They confuse me and don’t show which one is for Bass, treble etc.
Hello, I have the arctis 7 too. Playing Valorant and COD sometimes I see myself lost with the positional audio. It's not clear where the sound is coming from. Do you ever noticed this?
@@TheRafa1221 interesting. There are times in certain games where I feel the surround sound feature doesn't do much at all and In others it makes a huge difference. Could be just those specific games?
what bout simultaneous audio inputs? can you, for example, plug USB into PS4 and use the line in on the wireless dongle to plug aux into a PC and listen to both audios at the same time?
How is the noise cancelling from, for example, within a household?.. Really trying to find a headset that blocks out the noise of my housemate and street noise lol
Watched the whole video and couldn't find what I was looking for. Hope you could answer this. Can you use the headset and mic wired? For me only the headset works and the mic doesn't.
I bought these but for some reason I was expecting something better. For example, for Warzone aren't good enough because you can't hear the steps and my friends say my mic is really low (even when all the volume is high). I love steel series but sadly these one are trash for shooters.
I have a question is there a way to use this with my ps4 and pc without having to disconnect them from my pc and having to connect to my ps4 and just not have to keep on disconnect and connect over and over again?
Hey man! I have a question if you can answer it. Does the headset "remember" the settings you put on it as in I change the settings on my laptop and then plug it into my PS4 or can't you do that?
So, mine just broke. The connect the headband to the earcup with a SINGLE point. That point will break. My first broke at about 13 months and SteelSeries covered it. The 2nd at almost two years. Its a MORONIC design decision that is supposed to look cool, but ultimately is a major flaw.
The arctis 7 is the worst headset I've ever bought, it doesn't even work with the PS4 and sounds like muddle C%$^on the PC. What a waste of good money. I guess it's my fault for not reading if they worked with PS4 before buying but you would think they would add that little fact to the box.
I really like the fact you added time stamps in the description I don't see any one doing that. It's much appreciated.
really nice review keep up thr good work!

Really good review, I just need to ask can I turn off sidetone ?
Yes you can!
What game is that on 10:02 ?
Awesome review thank you!
Nice review!!
I just got the 7x and I'm loving it so far!
I just bought them as well, and am encountering bad mic quality problems! Have you noticed it, or heard about it?
@@Romeq07 No, I have not. I might suggest reaching out to Steel Series. Maybe, it's a defect.

You can change it in software if you’re on pc
sound quality is really nice on these problem is the mic its not that good

Good point! I never used the voice chat option on PC so I never truly used that dial, but I'll have to give it a try sometime when it comes to discord
Anyone else here always buys first, and watches reviews later..? Guess I am lucky this time.
hahaha yeah same
Great review!!! I got him now! But question, why is my standby button blinking green when i'm gaming?

3:43 wait when has there been RGB on an earcup?
It was originally RGB around the outside earcup
There are plenty of headsets with RGB

I got the 7x and wonder how the durability is on the Arctis? I just bit worried about it, i guess i will have a 1-2 warranty.

How did it sound in COD warzone ??
The blinking light is normal?
How does it connect to pc, Bluetooth or wifi

does this headset have voice and game audio options like the higher end ones? as in voice set up on discord and game set up on desktop? thanks
what bout simultaneous audio inputs? can you, for example, plug USB into PS4 and use the line in on the wireless dongle to plug aux into a PC and listen to both audios at the same time?
Sadly no, it will prioritize one over the other. Of you're using USB it will prioritize that over the AUX input. Same goes for wireless over USB input
