i picked this up as an upgrade to the aerox 3, i really like how the a5 side buttons protrude a lot more than the a3, mainly i just wanted more side buttons similar to the g502 but not an entire numpad. i went from g502 to r650 to a3 to a5, the a5 is a nice middleground between all of those mice.
the thumb button is something i have to reach for, the flicky switch isnt difficult to use but i mightve preffered just a button over it, that being said it works fine. and i got it for 90 bucks so imo worth.
Had this for a while. Never going to buy a mouse from steelseries again.. Everything is fine about the mouse except scroll wheel. Not sure if it is some design flaw or the components they use for scrolling wheel, but it started bugging right out of the box. When you scroll down - it goes up every 2nd/3rd step, when you scroll up - it goes down. Overall, the scrolling becomes really annoying. I had rival 310 before it and it had the exact same issue. Tried every single step I found on the internet and steelseries page, nothing helped. Support told that the last step would be to try to clean it. The issue with that is that you need to take it apart and to do it, you need to take off the pads of mouse which basically messes them up and then you need to buy new ones which are only sold steelseries store.. If you are looking for mouse - choose razer or logitech (just look for the ones with optical switches).
@@Izou96 I changed to razer basilisk v3 a year ago - it never had any issues. And on top of that it has free spin feature which is amazing thing to have
so I have just baught the Aerox 5 after owning the Razer Deathadder V3 Pro and I have to tell you in my opinion it is just the better mouse. It just feels more solid, has a dpi button on the top, which I actually need and the thumbbutton in my opinion is perfect. I never click it by accident. Who cares if the sensor is "outdated" I mean nobody really NOBODY uses 30.000 dpi with the razer. I play 400dpi just like most ESL Pros. So the most important thing should be, is it comfy for you and does it fulfill all your needs. And for this mouse I have to say YES ! I just love it. And 74 grams feels super light and might be my sweetspot. The 63g of the Razer just felt like nothing at all. So having just a little bit of weight in the hand feels really nice
I have the Rival 5 that is the same but wired. I bought it for the black friday and I paid 45€ with a 25% discount if I remember well. I am very satisfied as I have a big hand and I can use all the function buttons in a really comf way :) I think 149€ is too much for the wireless version.
I feel like I'm going to hit the side button before hitting the flappy button upwards. 74g for a holey mouse for THAT PRICE is kinda eh. Review the $70 Dareu A900 mouse please.
IT's the most amazing feeling mouse I've used, Clicks, wheel feels perfect, the feet are the smoothest I've used as the feet don't have that bulge on the outer edge that takes a year to break in before lol, using it on a Razer Atlas glass its phenomenal, Still have 3 other mice and they don't feel anywhere as smooth gliding. there's like zero noise above what my arm sounds like across the mat. The holes...I'm not completely sold on yet hope I get used to that it feels weird. I may sand down the rough texture on the holey part... but over all, much better than Mouse I've tried and sent back recently like the Viper V3 pro/deathadder V3 pro, endgame XM2we...... I like that there's no yucky rubbery coating on it like Razers recent mice. its big and better for my larger hands but also light. never had a mouse this good or smooth before Seriously though Get a Razer Atlas glass pad to pair with this it's out of this world.
Seems like a pretty decent mouse and I personally like that the extra buttons aren't too intrusive but it's about time Steelseries update their mice with 3390 sensors and for gods sake why can't they release new versions of their old beloved shapes?! It's like Steelseries hates their own customers.
Doesn't matter if they update or not. Your not gonna notice any difference whatsoever and that's a fact ☺️😂. They are 1:1 sensors just like everything else and the dpi deviation isn't absolutely retarded like most razers bs
@@cwbgaming8913 Their latest mice perform perfectly fine with the latest firmware but some of their older mice like the Sensei are definitely a bit outdated. It also took them quite a while to update the firmware that improved the click latency on the Prime. It's the only mouse that I've noticed the click latency being high on compared to other mice but the buttons are really stiff as well.
Tbh these are very similar to old Steelseries mice when it comes to shape, the main difference being all these holes. I have Aerox 3 and Rival 3 side by side rn and they're literally the same when it comes to shape. Not sure how these other Aerox models compare.
@@dominiorrr6510 Yeah the Aerox 3 is the same shape as the Rival 3 but some of their beloved shapes like the Sensei and Rival 310 haven't been updated for a long time.
In my area it costs 80 bucks instad of 140 right now in 2023. Do you think it worth it? I have pretty big hands and really just want a good mouse. I have the Steelseries rival 300 right now and Im looking for a upgrade. The wired version costs only about 40 bucks now, is it really worh having to pay more for a wireless? Idk i havent had any.
Bought the mouse on amazon for $75 (its a refurbished one + I got a 3 year warranty for an extra $10) as of writing this I've had it for 3 days and its nothing too special, I like it, it has enough buttons for my taste, and it feels alright (aim wise). Of course I still have to get used to it considering my old mouse was 105g (Death Adder Elite) and this one is 30g lighter, but other than that I would definitely do some research on some other mice before buying this one, unlike myself just ordering the first one I seen that was wireless lol.
I think rival 500 had the best side button layout. How I wish they make a mouse with rival 500 side buttons + aerox shell + no led lights for less weight. That in my opinion is the best mouse.
Returned it second day battery poor on wifi, rgb just drain battery, sotware so so, some strange use wheen moving on screen can t click on folder - always missed ( maybe my fault) . Two button up down, cant use at all 2 buttons - only one. Price is little high.
im curious for one thing, how can i clean the inside of it, since it's got an honeycomb kind of cage and all kinds of shit can get into it, how can i clean it without breaking anything, like hairs, dead skins and any kind of filth.
There's normally screws underneath the mouse feet. So you'll need to peel them off first. The top shell should pull a part. I'd recommend searching for a tear down video for this mouse if one exists. There might be a few cables that might need to be detached first. You could also just get a can of compressed air and just blast it through one of the holes.
Love your videos!! Which wireless mouse should I get this coming Black Friday? I have 18.4x10.4 hands, use claw grip mostly, play VAL and OW2, with around a 37-65 cm/360 as my sens range?
Do you know if this mouse can be used as wired by connecting the charging cable to the computer (with the minimized delay that some crave). In other words when connected by wire, will it use the cable for data transfer or via Bluetooth?
I got the arox 9 pro wireless and I know it's a MMO mouse but I still play fps all that and it's still my fav mouse so far (it's my second mouse. The first one I had was a Logitech g hero something)
damn this mouse had me at “slightly ergonomic” and lost me at “the right click overhangs”. Does nobody care about people that have two fingers on the right side of their mouse? Lmao and that software, im sticking with my Haste
I bought this mouse a month ago brand new. And it died aka. stoped working connects to the cable or wireless and it doesn't work or it keeps reconnecting continously. Sent it to the service place and they told me the electronics on these are prone to die. So I do not reccomend this mouse at all. I loved it but as for it working a big no from me.
I was considering buying 8 of this mouse for my family of four, but upon hearing it has not received the scroll-wheel-feels-real-seal-of-approval I will be taking my business elsewhere.
can you limit the DPI options on the DPI button to just 2 settings for example? would be crazy clutch to be able to lower my DPI with one click for sniping!
