The other day I went to some Mexican street food stands and ordered food in fluent Spanish. It was really fun to see the street food vendors reactions to my Mexican Spanish and accent. The guy even said I was like Canelo, the amazing Mexican boxer from Guadalajara! (He has a light skin tone like myself) That was a funny and kind comment. This was also the first time I've ever tried "tacos de canasta", a dish which originates from a small pueblo near Mexico City. They were delicious! Thank you for watching, you're awesome :) New videos every Saturday.

Hola, I'm Nate. I used to not know any Spanish at all, and I had no interest in learning the language. I thought learning Spanish would be boring, a waste of time, and would provide no value to my life. Then I started taking Spanish classes in high school and everything changed for me. I struggled with learning the language a lot at first, but thanks to my teachers and my Spanish speaking friends, they helped make the learning process fun. Within a few months, I had gotten to a conversational level, but more important, I had become a more confident person. The real win for me, though, was the friendships I made and strengthened. I discovered that not only did I have higher self esteem, but being out in the real world with people, whether old friends or new ones I met, made me feel more alive and connected with the world around me. Now it's my goal to create videos that make you smile and inspire you to learn Spanish or another language!

1:32 "Nomas quiero dos de papa y UN de frijol." Your Spanish language skills are impressive, 99.99% native like but it's super minor details like asking "dos tacos de papa y UN de frijol" (instead of uno) that show you are not a native speaker, for a distracted speaker this can go unnoticed and they will say you're a native speaker. Congratulations for speaking Spanish at such an amazing level. I don't like Tv show stereotypes like Narcos that portray Mexico and the Mexicans as drug dealers and don't show the real Mexico which is a nation of people who strive to be better in Business, Science, Culture, Music, Arts, we're good people. If more Gringos spoke Spanish like you do and more Mexicans had a good English level the two nations would understand each other better and build great things together.

    SI O NO BANDA

Your Spanish is great, but I'm more impressed with your understanding of Mexican culture: It's okay to talk to strangers and be friendly with them. Gringos don't do that. If gringos don't know someone it would be weird to randomly talk to them. It's a big cultural difference.

It's all relative--I'm sure Mexico is cheaper overall, but when you can easily make 15-20$ an hour here, those prices aren't crazy by any means.

    Hi Nate!
I'm just watching your videos and I'm very surprised about your language level. Congratulations! I've already subscribed 😊
Just something that I noticed in this video in particular. You use the word "changarro" to refer about the vender's stand (I don't know if that's the correct word) and it's ok to use it, but maybe it doesn't sound very polite. You can use it when you talk with someone else, like "lo compré en aquel changarro" but I think people don't like to hear that someone else refers as "changarro" to their business 😅 maybe if you use the diminutive "changarrito" it'd sound better.
