The other day I went into some restaurants as your typical gringo, and ordered my food in Spanish. I definitely surprised the workers there with my fluent Spanish! I learned Spanish in high school and it"s been 7 incredible years of mastering the language. Often times people will confuse me to be Mexican due to my accent and use of certain words. It's actually one of the biggest compliments I can get and it's very humbling when a native speaker genuinely thinks that I'm Mexican. Thank you for watching, you're awesome :) If you liked the video please give it a thumbs up and leave me a comment telling me your favorite part! New videos every Tuesday.

If you're new to the channel my name's Nate and I learned Spanish in high school. Learning Spanish has changed my life for the better. Now it's my goal to create videos that make you smile and inspire you to learn Spanish or another language! Love language. Love people.
Note: I've been receiving a lot of negative comments with regards to my skin color, people often commenting, "Lots of fair skinned people speak Spanish". I never mention the color of my skin in my videos, and if it is mentioned, it's by other people in the video, not myself. There are Spanish speakers with all kinds of skin tones. Please understand that I know this. This channel is meant to be a place of love for Latino culture and a place where people can go to be inspired to learn another language. My only goal is to promote positivity, and I hope I've been able to do that for you. Cheers.

I speak five languages ~English, Español, francais. Italiano, & Putongua😂🙂
She seemed so comfortable. When you’re Speaking someone’s native language it’s like they warm up a little more.
This is what I strive to be able to do some day. And, whenever I am unmotivated to learn Spanish, all I have to do is watch one of your videos and I am immediately ready to learn! Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much! Cheers!!
I’m learning French but I have the same burst of energy to learn after watching one of Nate’s videos. Even though I don’t understand the Spanish being spoken, I love seeing the interactions with people in their own language, it’s a beautiful thing
Espero que algun dia puedas hablar español :D
@@le_beks Gracias :)
Same with English
“Love language, love people” is just such a great tag line. It’s kinda perfect. Siempre me encantan tus videos bro. Que dios te bendiga.

Que gran este cultura esta! ♥️ Mucho amor hombre! 🤘🏽

Self taught and fairly fluent in one year? I have to cal BS.
@@theymademepickaname1248 really if you take your learning seriously and are consistent its not too hard, after you learn verb tenses if its just vocab and tryna memorize sentence structure
Houston best place to be and go to SE lots of good Mexican places to eat n East end 💪🏼💪🏼🔥🔥
How much time per day have you spent learning? And do you use an app or something to learn?
your kindness shows regardless of the language you speak, Nate! Admire that, truly.
Thanks so much Janelle! Be well :)
Bruh I don’t even have the confidence to strike up conversation with strangers like that in my native language! XP
It shows how he got so good at Spanish tho. He’s willing to put himself out there and seek new conversational opportunities
Conversations like this just happens automatically I am a shy person and have a hard time speaking to strangers but when one asks a questions and then the convo Carries ans ans the rest is history it’s just becoming comfortable
Este señor es una completa leyenda. He talks two languages at once. That´s what I call success.

Love your videos so much, Nate. I’m a 32 year old gringo Spanish teacher from Ohio. I’m often self conscious about the fact that no one in my personal life speaks Spanish and since I’ve taught teenagers who know no Spanish for 10 years, my proficiency level hasn’t kept up with what it used to be. You inspire me to go out there and create my own opportunities for practice!
Wow you are only 21. That’s awesome man. I just started trying to learn this month. I wish I had taken Spanish more seriously in high school.
Muy buen español bien fluido y perfecto
Wish I had the confidence or I was brave enough to do this.Awesome dude!
You can do it! I appreciate you :)
Do exactly what nate is doing.. seriously! We have a new Mexican restaurant in my town, and I try to use as much Spanish as I can with the waiters and staff.. trust me, they appreciate the effort. I get free drinks every time:)
This is really cool!
Keep the hard work Nate!
If you need a guide during your trip in mexico city, let me know, I'll be more than glad to help you!
Love when you make conversation with people

More of these! 🔥🔥🔥
Good work man! I've been learning Spanish for quite a while now and have reached a decent level, but I mostly learned to speak quite formally. It's great listening to a lot of these phrases you use that sound a lot more like colloquial speech. I'll try to implement some of these and level up!
Keep up the great work!
Cheers Raiyan! Suerte :)
Great Job Nate. I enjoyed this women and your conversation...
Thanks Vick!

hey yo quiero practicar mi inglés :v podemos hacer llamada
Your videos are fire. Love from Canada
Keep up the good work Nate!
Cheers!
My kids are in Mex City tonight. One of them speaks Spanish very well, and other one knows a little bit from College. It is really fun to learn 2nd or 3 language in our case. I also Speak a bit but need to go back and learn more since college many moons ago. I will love to visit Mexico again and check out small towns. Always enjoy your vid.

I know that is French.. but Spanish or Mandarin is next on my list! Haha.
Love these in person interaction videos.
Im learning French any tips?
@@kameilahking1743 I learnt french a few years ago too. I'd recommend you start getting accustomed to the sounds ASAP, listening to a little a day. Watch channels like easyfrench and podcasts. After you begin to understand a bit, start reading short stories. After a while you will begin to understand a lot more until you can start watching content for native speaker and fully immerse. A lot of time and consistency is needed at the beginning however but it is very much doable. Bon courage!
@@khalidzoldyck1092 thanks so much because i learned Spanish but the methods I used for it isn’t working. I think because I don’t listen to it much
@@kameilahking1743 I’m trying to give you a response but my comment keeps getting deleted
@@kameilahking1743
I would recommend doing a lot of input (listening) learning up front. Watch TV shows that interest you to learn a normal speaking pace and listen to music genres you like as well.
Create flash cards but the trick is to do flash cards which have small phrases and not just a single word.
Native Spanish Speaker struggles to find a word.
Freaking Nate finishes the sentence. 🤯
😂😂🙌
You actually have a fluent spanish with mexican accent.
Cuz he is Mexican & certainly NOT an Anglo-American!
Nate you should go somewhere and talk to two different people but with one speak as if you're a beginner and speak to the other in perfect Spanish lol. They will definitely trip out lol.
The first one is my aunt, that’s crazy haha
MINE TOO!!!!!
AYYY hahah that's awesome she's so kind
'College Kid Orders Food in Fluent Spanish' bro you look like a rich man who has plenty of time to just learn stuff and do whatever you want 😂😭 but that sounds like a great time, I wish you and everyone else reading this can have that life!
Nate is one of the first people i have heard that learned spanish in school. The majority don't anything in high school because the teach it wrong.
I wouldn't say high schools teach it "wrong" per se... the only thing a general education center will be able to do is teach language theory - which is good and informative but is not the same as teaching to speak and converse fluently.
It's like wanting to learn to play the piano, but your school teaches music theory primarily... music theory is important to know for playing music in general, but not how to specifically manipulate your fingers on a piano keyboard and make music.
Increíble! :O
i love spanish
i swear to god , it's crazy , I'm italian and sometimes when he switches language I don't even notice , Spanish is so similar to Italian lmao
Nate, you use a lot of chunks and "isms" specific to Mexican Spanish ("recien fui", es que, etc.). Do you have a list of these on your program? THAT, by itself, would be worth a small fortune. Great video, as always.
Hi Christopher! Great question. I have some of them in flash cards found in the course, however I do plan on adding a worksheet just for that very soon!! Thanks so much for watching :)
@@SpanishWithNate. You're the greatest, thanks!
I have to admit Nate does have the best Mexican accent that i have heard from a gringo. The accent to me is the most important and that is the fist thing i try to get correct is the accent there is nothing worst to me than hear a American sounding like and American trying to speak Spanish.
I get so mad because a lot of my family speaks Spanish, but I was never taught. I used to ask them to only speak to me in Spanish so that I would be forced to learn, but they never would. I've been studying more and more, but I'm so bad at it. I hope one day it will click with me. I love the sound of the language.
Are you still planning on moving to Mexico City ? Those vlogs would be awesome!
Ugh lowkey jealous of your ability! all the more reason for me to keep pushing. haha
You can do it!
Man I love your videos ❤👍👍🙏
Thanks Michael!
Spanish is my second born language, self taught in Mandarin and moving on to learn self teach myself in Russian, Spanish is just as popular a language as English in america

Man, you are so nice 🙂, I just subscribed to your channel, I like when someone like you learns my language and is so passionate about it.
Thank you so much!!

Is that the superior grocers in La puente?
Speaks better than most Mexicans 👏
Once I was with a co-worker, who is a middle-aged black woman, when these two Mexicans asked us for directions. You could tell their English was minimal. But surprise, surprise, my black co-worker started giving them directions in fluent Spanish. Oh, man. You all should have seen their faces! Their eyes practically popped out of their heads. Like they didn't even know it was possible for an African-American to speak Spanish. Don't assume anything about strangers, cuz they often surprise you.
I love how you don’t assume the workers speak Spanish and ask them if they know Spanish. A lot of people assume just by looking at our skin tone and features that we speak Spanish.
They ice cream place I go there all the time😂
Has anyone told you that you sound like Stitch off of Lilo & Stitch? 😂
I'd die to do these videos, but is the GoPro strapped to a backpack or how does it work?
What's the down-payment for the apartment to get $400 monthly payments? And which colonia was it? :o
