GH5S seems to be the winner in low light performance but the difference is small. On the other side the video from the GH6 shows more details. I don't think there is a clear winner. And this alone is already a big success for the GH5S! Thank you very much for this upload.
I have gh5 and gh5s, I don't need a bitrate above 400Mbps and ProRes, all what I want from Panasonic is that they make a camera like gh5s only with matrix stabilization.
GH5s is definitely still the camera to go with for low light shooting. GH5 vs GH6 is really no competition. I would upgrade to the GH6 in that case. I might keep my GH5s for a second camera on those run and gun shoots. The GH5s is gonna do great in low light scenes and the GH6 is going to have higher frame rate 4K and other capabilities that the GH5s does not. Hopefully Panasonic will drop a GH6s that would be sweet for filmmakers. Keep in mid there are many features on both the GH5 and GH6 that the GH5s does not have. The GH5 and GH6 have a much higher megapixel for stills than the GH5s. The GH5s leans more towards filmmaking than versatility.
Unless you want ibis keep the GH5s for sure! I personally went for the G9 to go with my Pocket 4k because the Pocket handles low light much better so I I’ll use the G9 for non low light situations when I need ibis.
@@jayclas4023 actually the GH5s Does not have IBIS. However, the GH5 II does. This is what makes the GH5s actually lighter in weight than the GH5. G9 is a great camera!
I have to disagree, the gh6 footage has slightly more noose, but a lot more detail. The gh5s always applies some noise reduction even when set to off. panasonic said off on the gh6 is truly off. with the greater detail you can easily apply a bit heavier nr in post than you can with the gh5s and still get a cleaner more detailed image. I compared my bmpcc4k to my gh6 when it first arrived and after the 5.7k video was taken into account I got cleaner and more detailed shots from the gh6 so I sold the bmpcc4k. I'd say that in lowlight they are really about equal with the gh6 taking a minor lead in quality.
I changed my GH5S to GH6 because of the 10bit 422 4k60p and even 120p 420 ,all format can be done in 10bit,and stabilization also😂but GH6 doesn't have such good low light performance

At this point the S5 is the clear winner, minus the full size HDMI port.
And unlimited recording
better colors and dynamic range on the GH6!
Well that was clear and easy win for the gh5s.

I still dont understand why Gh5s us still beating gh6 in low light being an older camera.
For the gh6s
In short Less megapixel, bigger photosensor, Better low light sensibility.
It has half megapixels but double the light income.
Did you have DR Boost on above 2000 ISO?

How does their autofocus compare?
I don't use autofocus, so I haven't compared them.
