    Pretty impressive mileage. 47 miles of battery range is more than double what I get with my '22 non-ER XC60. If I didn't know 45+ miles is now available I would be more than satisfied with it. With our driving pattern we've averaged 52+ mpg over 11,000 miles, better than I expected when we bought the car, but now I'm tempted to upgrade. With the new range I would rarely burn any gasoline.

      The 3 layer battery was quite a surprising and significant upgrade to the T6/T8 Recharge cars. For me this kind of range actually makes me doubt whether I prefer a PHEV or EV such as my C40. Plenty of daily range and when needed petrol (and engine sound...). Can understand this makes you also doubt to upgrade.. Anyway, this T6 XC60 was great fun! 😎

    My new XII 2022 T6 Silver Dawn, winter in Poland-temperature near 0 C or down, daily near 65-70km on Pure and small benzin consumption depends on outside temperature from 1.0-1,5 l/100km, if outside temperature is more than 8 C gasoline usage is Zero, generally marvelous expierence on Pure Mode, greetings from Warsaw

    Im from UK n picking this up next week. I've read the battery can only charge at a maximum of 3.6kw. Even if using a fast charger it will still only do 3.6kw. So it'll take over 5 hours to charge

    Is it OK to fully charge it (because Volvo has already taken care of the needed buffer (18.8 Kwh, 15.5 usable) or do we need to charge it 20 to 80 for better battery longevity? Thanks in advance.

      Desondanks is 77km in het Nederlandse verkeerd zeker niet verkeerd. 😉

    Very good video. I am also very interested in the average hybrid consumption in a 500km (let's say) journey in hybrid mode. Will it be near 3L/100km or way more than that for example? Thank ypu in advance.

      Thanks Georgios! My combined consumption differed between 2.6l/100kmh to 5.5l/100kmh. It really depends on your own driving style. When taking it easy the battery will do most of the work. When pushing the engine will kick in which of course results in more petrol usage. Overall I think an average around 4l/100km is still pretty OK considering its a heavy PHEV SUV..

    Massage seats too? You may have sold me - at least in the US the massage seats are only available on the XC90.
    It is still not clear to me what is the improvement made with the three layer battery versus the extended range released a few months ago?

      Massage seats are available (here in the EU at least) on the nappa ventilated seats.
      The 3 layer battery pack and 'extended range' PHEVs are the same. :-)

    I also drive my recharge in B mode and have noticed its slowing down quite aggressively. Question: do you know if the brake lights go on at the back…? Always scared some half-asleep driver will run into my rear as i recharge using b-mode…. 😐

      Understandable! The acceleration/brake circle in your driversdisplay has 3 'points' on both sides. When slowing down the breaklights turn on a bit halfway towards the first point, so when slowly breaking the lights do not turn on. Basically when it should feel natural that they turn on, they do. Actually tested this myself also as I was wondering it too.. Summary: works good. 😉

    How did you feel the power was in pure mode? Enough for daily driving? Would be great to do a comparison with the XC90 Recharge 18.8 kwh for direct comparison on range. Thanks!

      More than plenty! The new battery motor carries a bit more than 100hp which still more than many ICE cars have. I got along easily in rush hour driving only on the battery motor. Also the benefit of electric driving: instant torque 😊

    Hi can you advise on both long and short drives what is the best setting to go with. For example on a long trip would you use all the pure mode then hybrid or hybrid first. Then in D drive or B and the same when you know you are driving round trip of 100+ miles. Many thanks

      Hi Mark, I would stick in hybrid for most of the time as that is the most efficient way to travel. On highways in D, on local roads and such more in B (one pedal). :-)

    Are these the standard seats or the free upgraded sports seats? Im going to be driving 7-8 hours a day and concerned the sports seats may get a little uncomfortable on long drives

      This car has the upgraded seats which come with the nappa leather option. :-) Very comfortable!

    I noticed you said that the T6 is just a limited version of the T8? I thought the T8 had an additional supercharger. I have ordered a V60 T6 recharge which I’m looking forward to. Just looking down the line to see if the ‘limiter’ can be removed and tuned upwards (by non Volvo garages)

      Yep! They dropped the supercharger with the new modelyear. Perhaps can be done, but of course will cost you your factory warranty..

      @@thom-lov yeah would definitely be something I’d do after warranty.. the t6 petrol engine is 250bhp and the T8 would be roughly 350bhp.. seems a big jump but would love it to be the case

      Basically the tune/limiter is the biggest difference, base-line of both engines is a 2.0 4cyl turbo. So I assume tuning would be possible 🤔

    Based on your experience is the range better in Pure Vs Hybrid mode.. and what are pros / cons for each. Just purchased T6 in Ireland… thrilled with it..

      Biggest pro is that in Pure mode the petrol engine will wait a bit longer to kick in when accelerating a bit more. A con then for example is that in Pure the interior climate control goes on eco an performs a bit less compared to hybrid. So pure is really for extending the electric range a bit, whilst hybrid is just the daily mode to go. I tend to drive a lot in Pure as it does the job fine for me. 😊 Safe miles with your T6! 👍

    Een T8 is toch alleen de benzine motor die dikker is? Dat is toch de T6 turbo en supercharged. De elektromotor heeft bij de T6 en T8 145PK las ik op de site.

      De supercharger zit er helaas niet meer op, alleen turbo. Het verschil zit hem nu echt in de software die het vermogen op de T6 simpelweg beperkt.

    Thom, wellicht enigsinds off topic maar wat zijn je ervaringen met de Volvo recharge all season banden?

      Goede vraag Bjorn! Ik heb de Volvo recharge banden op mijn C40 en ook deze XC60 heeft ze er onder. Voornamelijk heel weinig rolweerstand en ook best stil. Kortom prima band naar mijn mening.
      Wel een hekel punt, op dit moment (wereldwijd), is dat de Recharge band wat moeilijk leverbaar is. Bijvoorbeeld, Amerikanen kunnen op dit moment soms weken geen zelfde vervangende band krijgen ivm tekorten. Hier in noord-Europa zijn ze OK te krijgen, maar hoe zuidelijker je komt hoe groter de kans is dat je geen geschikte band kan vinden. Op zich niet zo'n groot probleem voor velen maar dit toont wel aan dat zo'n specifieke set banden voor onder deze zware auto's niet een alledaagse set is en een dure grap kan worden. Maar nogmaals, tot dusver klaag ik zeker niet over de set onder m'n C40. 😊 Hoop dat dit helpt?! Grts.

      Hi Thom, thanks voor je uitgebreide uitleg. Ik krijg morgen mijn (nieuwe, 2023) XC60 T6 Recharge geleverd. We hebben hierbij gekozen voor winterbanden (ivm wintersport). Nu denk ik dat in de zomer de standaard geleverde recharge all seasons worden gemonteerd. Ik vraag mij af of ik hier blij mee moet zijn of dat een zomerband in de zomer beter zou zijn. Vooral betreffende grip en verbruik. Een all season blijft toch altijd een compromis.

      Hopelijk is de aflevering naar wens gegaan Bjorn! Congrats met de nieuwe wagen, goede keuze! Ik denk dat je met winter + de recharge banden in de zomer prima zit qua verbruik. De recharge banden zijn speciaal ontwikkeld zo efficient als mogelijk te zijn, ik heb met deze set banden ook de 77km vol elektrisch gehaald in de T6, dus dat toont ook wel dat ze flink doorrollen en relatief weinig weerstand bieden. Ben benieuwd naar je uiteindelijke keuze. Grts!

      @Thom, thanks! Hij bevalt nu al super goed! Wat betreft de banden, ik ben eigenlijk wel benieuwd hoe een zomerband zich verhoud ten opzichte van de recharge all season met betrekking tot grip en remweg. Het sentiment is toch al jaren dat een all season een slechte zomerband en een slechte winterband in 1 is. Ook gezien de hardheid en de rubbersamenstelling bij een zomer- en winterband totaal anders zijn.
      Onze is nu afgeleverd met de all seasons en gaat binnenkort op de winterbanden.

      Power output, the T8 carries about 105hp or so more over the T6.
