I love stopping in Scarborough it's a beautiful place and very friendly people. I wish I had seen this video before I stopped in August for my birthday. Well I won't be coming to stop anything because in 11 days I will be moving there 🎉🎉🎉🎉 I can't wait to spend the rest of my life in Scarborough
Hi my partner and I have been coming to Scarborough every year since 2010 and every year we find something and somewhere new to do/visit. For the first few years we stayed at Blands Cliff Lodge on Blands Cliff before staying for the next few years at what was The Duke Of York & is now The Mariners House on Leading Post Street. This year we are staying at The Palm Court Hotel and very much looking forward to it. Another great video, well done! Matt & Rachel, Derbyshire.
What a great find, Andrew. Space, location and self catering are the appeal for me. I'll definately be trying this place out when I visit the coast in 2024.
Looks a lovely place to stay. I can thoroughly recommend Scarborough for a holiday or short break. We stayed at The Sands apartments (North Bay, sea front). We were on the beach most of the time and had a wonderful holiday.
Andrew great vid, bit off topic, last year I bought an ebike (Super73) its a retro style bike, I also love North Yorkshire and used my new found freedom to explore countryside / trails I probably would have never seen, I take a backpack some sandwiches and head out, inspiration comes from your videos and hikes, I done the Whitby to Scarborough last summer, chilling cliffside watching the sunset is amazing, maybe some new content ideas 😊
Nice to hear and see you. Good for my soul you are. Not quite my cup of tea this video but up to now your videos have been brilliant. Keep up the good work and all the best to you and your family.
This has come handy for later in the year visit. Very nice place, and location in the centre. Nice modern fittings and clean and tidy. What more do you want. Another super produced video Andrew. They do make Scarborough and North Yorkshire more appealing to visitors.
Be warned, that McDonalds is a bit rowdy (security on the door) so not great if overlooked, possibly a bit intimidating at night and probably noisy at night, shuts at 11pm
Interesting to see how the Salisbury has changed. Being of a certain age, I remember it as one of my regular pubs on a weekend, back in the late 60s and the 70s. The back room was always a popular meeting place. It looks high quality but also a tad clinical and impersonal. When I come back for my long overdue visit to my hometown, I think I'll plump for a hotel or even a BnB! Another good video.
Thanks for the tip Andrew, haven’t been back to my home town for a few years, but when I did visit in the past, accommodation was always a problem, in that most of the places we stayed were tired and run down, places like The Royal and the Grand, in fact we walked out of there, it was awful. I remember the Salisbury when it was a pub and night club, pretty rough and dodgy as I remember, so great to see it’s been renovated and put to good use.
Beautiful apartment big pat on the back to the person who did the renovations and styling.Have you ever stayed at The Windmill on Mill Street another nice place. Thanks for sharing👍
Thanks for this. Hope you will make this into a series. Have you tried the Villa Esplanade? We used to stay there regularly. Cheap and cheerful but good memories.
It looks lovely and Bar Street is a favourite thoroughfare of mine. However I just love staying at The Sands in the North Bay. It is right on the beach, no busy road to cross. The downside is the walk up the cliff or round the headland to the centre. Good if you have plenty of time and the weather is favourable, but then there is always the open top bus to take advantage of.
Great to see some wonderful drone footage of the town that was home for years. Amazing to see the development on Huntriss Row. What a transformation from the Salisbury Arcade & Vivaz to this stylish hotel.
Another great video. Planning on getting married here in scarbados next year, so this will be a place we can recommend to stay on our list to friends/relatives. We are newish to Scarborough. We brought a house here last year. Both my other half and I enjoy seeing your videos for inspiration of places to see/visit. We keep a look out for you on our walks 😂 maybe one day we will cross paths and can say hello in person ❤
A good review; we're bringing mum and dad down to Scarborough for a few days soon, so will have a closer look at this one; their FAQ page is very good indeed, as I needed to know about accessibility for my mum, all my questions were addressed there. Plus getting married this July at a nearby hotel so I've flashed this vid up on Facebook as the promo code might be useful to our friends/family if they need decent accomodation.
A very interesting and informative video! Well-made and photographed... a vicarious stay in a first-class Scarborough hotel. I personally prefer a less modern, utilitarian decor, and like hotels that recreate period rooms with modern amenities. :Perhaps, in a future video you could visit other hotels or B & B's in Scarborough, or it's vicinity, to give a broader perspective on the variety of options available? In any case this was an excellent video with all the style and sophistication of your previous productions! Thank you for making yet another fine addition to your Yorkshire travels series.
The Salisbury Hotel began as the Imperial Hotel in the 1800’s but the name was changed to the Metropole Hotel after the owner Mrs Williamson sold it to the Metropole Hotel Company. I don’t want to sound like an anorak but people who call the four domes ‘turrets’ are wrong, castles have turrets the four domes at the Grand Hotel are called cupolas. They were originally storage rooms back in the day when it opened. I’ve worked at the Grand for many years.
I'm Scarborough born and bred, but left in 1989 to live in Scotland. It looks a lovely apartment but having no need for a sitting room or kitchenette I'd definitely be interested in learning of somewhere as modern and central with bedroom, bathroom and breakfast for about the price of Premier Inn if you know of anywhere. In March we stayed in a Glasgow Premier Inn for £64 a night including breakfast, and it was amazing, couldn't ask for better.
Excellent video. I live in the south, my experience of the north, brilliant, me my partner, my partners nan and our dog Crunchie in Blackpool, all of us and dog welcomed everywhere, Tower, Funny girls, ballroom etc. Brilliant.....yes, would love to visit Scarborough......😊
Scarborough is a great place to visit, but seen as i'm out most of the day, I never pay silly money for accomodation. I like the Miricia hotel on Queen's Parade, North Bay.
Thanks for the video and discount code came in handy. We had a fantastic stay, this place is stunning, loads of space and immaculate. We will be returning ! Couldn't be more central, everything you need within walking distance.
I live in Shropshire and have booked two separate weeks in Scarborough this year after seeing all your interesting videos. One week in April at the Crown Hotel and in August at the Palm Court, so hoping that they are as nice as they look on the websites. Your videos have rekindled fond childhood memories of holidays in Scarborough, and I am looking forward to exploring some of the places that you have visited. I wouldn't want to do self-catering myself but this place certainly looks very nice and worth recommending. This video is fascinating to watch, mainly because of your presenting skills, but also with the music you use along with the professionalism of the filming. Looking forward to your new video - they are always interesting and entertaining.
I think this place used to also be called Kazbah, many years ago. Before Vivaz nightclub. Remember going to see a few live bands there. What a transformation though, the apartments look modern and luxurious, will definitely have to book to stay there some time in the future 🙂
Hi just watched your video on the Salisbury Hotel....it looks lovely nice and clean got everything you would need ...and in the heart of Scarborough....❤ Nice review....me and my hubby absolutely love Scarborough....we got married at the Grand Hotel ...so any chance we get we always stay there ...but now and again need a change and this looks lovely ...can't get any closer to McDonald's 😂love it 👍 Hope you enjoyed your Pizza Hut Takeaway 👍
Great video Andrew, I really enjoyed it. The Salisbury was a pub when I lived in Scarborough in the early to mid 80's and was rough and ready to say the least! The owners have done a great job and the accomodation looks well worth the money and as someone who visits the town to see friends, I would definitely consider staying there as the central location is a plus point for me. Didn't Pizza Hut use to be on the corner of Huntriss Row, o few seconds walk from the Salisbury? if so, where have they relocated to? Keep these great videos coming.
At first, I retorted at the £100 per night… that was until you revealed what you were getting for that. Looks great value; a self catering place of a good size. Do they have other places to rent in other towns or are these the only ones they have?
Good video Andrew, loved the music too, had a really chill vibe to the whole video, I like Scarborough and always struggle to find somewhere near the centre , does this place have parking nearby ?
Great video but need to stay in Scarborough that is pet friendly and has a dedicated parking space. Normally book via Air BNB and end up in the Old Town area.
Hi Andy if you stay in any more hotels in Scarborough please can you show us inside because we are planning a break over in Scarborough in 2024 in summer
Ee by gum ! it's along way from from a three storey mid terrace in Tindall Street !! (childhood holidays with gran gran !) For me I think it would have be a good Yorkshire/Scottish ethic....for a ton I'd prefer breakfast thrown in at least, maybe even a dinner !! I know our room at The Grand last April wasn't on that level, but it still had a wonderful charm despite the seagulls nearly ruining my soft top cabriolet roof.. oh shit !! Many thanks for your resume.....if I ever come to Scarborough with a stunning brunette on my arm, I'll know where to stay !! Cheers Andrew 😂👍
There is a form to fill out before arrival asking about bed arrangements. The super-king beds can be made into twins if the guest wishes to have two separate single beds because of the way the bed is designed
Was there last Sunday the beach was covered inn black seaweed disgusting why they can't clean beaches also Where's the accessibility for wheelchair users on the beach whitby is far better

Oh forgot to say loving the Drone over Scarborough with my Grand Hotel in there too ❤️
I was in this beautiful city in 1989, I hope to return soon
Loved the review. Bit different from the flats I stayed in as a kid!
Will be interesting to to see more.
Thank you 👍

Hm, ein tolles interessantes Hotel..
Es läd direkt zum verweilen ein.
Da könnte ich schon wieder vom Reisen träumen.
Tolles Video. Danke Andrew 👍👋👋
Enjoyed this video, Andrew - good job! I thought the price to be a good value considering the size and amenities of the Salisbury apartments. 👍🏼

Great to see the building used in “ The Royal “ tv series in the first part of your video.

Somewhere in Whitby next? 😎
Great video would like to see you do the same review of places to stay in whitby

Cheers Jeff! Pizza Hut is over on Ramshill now. About a 10min walk from the apartments.
. We have stayed in many of the hotels and holiday homes in Scarborough and this looks really good. Our favourite is the Palm Court do you know it?
Yes, I use their car park most times I go into the centre 👍🏼
At first, I retorted at the £100 per night… that was until you revealed what you were getting for that.
Looks great value; a self catering place of a good size.
Do they have other places to rent in other towns or are these the only ones they have?
I believe they’re only based in Scarborough.
Good video Andrew, loved the music too, had a really chill vibe to the whole video, I like Scarborough and always struggle to find somewhere near the centre , does this place have parking nearby ?
Hi Richard. Loads of parking very close by with it being in centre of town
Next time try Pepe Verde directly opposite - great authentic pizza :)
Wow looks amazing 👏

The New Southlands Hotel is a great stay and also pet friendly

Haha let me know if you make it there with her! 😆
my concern is where to park and would it be noisy due to Mcdonalds
Whatttt NOT the Britannia Hotel 🤣🤣🤣
But it's Grand 🤣🤣🤣
Thats really handy
Very nice and only a hundred bar 👍
Look nice that b& b
Looks nice, but as usual with a lot of apartments it's got 2 double beds which is no good for families..
There is a form to fill out before arrival asking about bed arrangements. The super-king beds can be made into twins if the guest wishes to have two separate single beds because of the way the bed is designed
No parking is a big minus but it looks lovely otherwise
Familys and kids beware the beast of york (youtube him) has been relocated to scarbrough silver street above the cafe
seems rather steep. at that price, rather stay in whitby
Was there last Sunday the beach was covered inn black seaweed disgusting why they can't clean beaches also Where's the accessibility for wheelchair users on the beach whitby is far better
