In this video, I will look at some of Canelo’s training routines including boxing drills, strength and conditioning, strategy and nutrition.

It doesn't make sense to me. I get only sparring for that length of time, but I think it's insane that most fighters don't even run during the off season.

@@mr.doctorcaptain1124 I've always wondered why people praise athletes for doing things that they themselves can learn fairly easily. You saying that fighters actually don't train constantly makes this make sense. As someone who enjoys the pain of exercise, I've never fully comprehended just how unathletic those types of people are. If I'm not in the gym training year round, I'll still be studying and practicing at home. The fact that commoners don't do this, I'm not sure whether to feel pity or anger.

@@mr.doctorcaptain1124 lol youre talking absolute bullshit. A common boxing phrase is "its the three months before the three months" meaning its the work before the camp that counts. The 6-12 weeks youre referring to is the fight camp to get in the best possible shape for a fight and to adapt to an opponents style. The rest of the year they still train and work on their boxing skills, because you can never be perfect. To think that they only train during camps is stupid

remember this schedule and routine works well for canelo doesn't mean you have to follow it if you're looking into boxing every boxer trains at their pace like mayweather trained all times of the day and night while other will train at 10 or 11am or at nights it just depends on your body, when you wake up, and how you feel, you don't want a sluggish workout so get your sleep in and make sure you hydrate and eat something light. me personally i hate double workouts so i'll do my workout all at once i'll box from 11:30-2:00 and then i'll do my strength training until 3 including abs and excluding legs then i'll go run 4-5 miles depending how i'm feeling and then after i'll do my legs bc doing it before drains my run so like lunges and squats all my strength training is body weight except when it comes to the kettle bell or medicine ball, then i'll take a warm bath with epsom salt or i'll take an ice bath depending on the day. recovery is important to be able to do all that the next day again, like rolling out your legs, stretching, ice baths, nutrition, water, sleep, all plays a major key. your health matters bc frankly you can get sick by doing all this work take it slow and build yourself up boxing is a race but it's more of a turtle race than anything, take your time to learn and build confidence and strength and conditioning, and also most importantly i found that through the hard difficult training the best thing is to learn to have fun with it enjoy yourself when training smile through it,

Very interesting video and well covered. You reinforce dedication and time spent training, rehearsing and perfecting a skill which pays off. This is true not just for boxing. The Beatles played hundreds of gigs even before they became famous. Not sure if born with natural ability or dedicated training is the most important but I suppose they both play a part and this is a good debating point. I guess there are thousands of people who may have made it but but didn’t due to lacking the dedication of this boxer. Lesson, if you want to succeed, then it down to the individual. Nothing comes free.

Why do most of these pros not swim as part of their training regimen? Swimming utlizes all muscles of the body. It also provides great resistance.

Damn I train more than Canelo according to this, I have strength + conditioning in the morning for an hour everyday courtesy of the military and then I go straight to the boxing gym for 2 hours, then at night i go for another 2 hours, plus I have 3 lifting days a week (PPL) which take on average about 1.5 hours. I don't have a rest day but I don't box on saturday at all, just lift. Is it draining? Yes.

I always liked Miguel cotto though he is retired, I would love to see you do something on him, like this video. Training, style, etc I don't see much on the breakdown of cotto though he is a legend and his style is very similar to my style, I film studied lots of his fights and through the film studies he became a fighter that grew on me and he is one of my favorites. But it all started out from someone with a close style to mine to study from. But I just studied his actual fights. He is an awesome fighter to break down and learn from for boxers such as myself to learn from. I'm always looking to learn and evolve my boxing. I just found this video and I will be a loyal subscriber. I truly believe lots of people can learn from a breakdown of cottos training and style. It's just a suggestion. Thank you for this video I appreciate seeing stuff like this. Thank you and subscribed!!!!
