- Thank you for watching Math in Woodworking! The math I cover in Episode 2 is measuring and adding & subtracting decimals/fractions.
If you haven't seen Episode 1, you can find it here: • Math in Woodworking - ...
Stay tuned for more episodes in the future!
You might not have intended this, but you've also made the series "Why it makes much more sense to use the metric system."
I always try to use decimal equivalents to do my layouts. So much easier to work with than factions.
good job Adam. I'm loving your videos, keep up the good work.
+Roger Poulin Thanks Roger!
I think we have the same table saw. What dado stack did you use? Thank you. Adam
Hey Adam. The table saw I'm using is the Dewalt DWE7480 and it rocks! After I bought mine, I saw that Dewalt has a bigger saw with a bigger arbor so I was eyeing that one too haha. The dado stack I use is the Freud SBox8. it has 2 blades and you can switch between 1/4" and 3/8" dados base on what the blade orientation is. I bought it at Rockler or Woodcraft for either $89 or $99. It works great for our saw since it has a short arbor. The bigger Dewalt job site saw has the big arbor so I may upgrade sometime down the road.
Thank you. I'm going to double check when I get home.
RRR Woodworks Andrew I have a 745 so bo dados. Thoroughly enjoyed this video.
No dados
+Adam Mathis I'm glad that you enjoyed the video. The 745 & 7480 are almost the same saw but the 7480 has higher RPM. I measured the thickness of the Freud SBox8 blades and they are right at .2". My standard table saw blade has a thickness of .8", so I'm technically only adding
.12" (1/8") to the width of the arbor. If your arbor has at least 1/8"-1/4" of threads left, you should be fine.
I want to be clear that I made that statement based on my opinion and don't recommend you adding the Freud stack unless you are comfortable with it. (Just covering my legal bases here!)
