- After reviewing the Vivo X100 Pro, I can say this: it has an unbelievable camera - both because it's so good, and because it's not always believable.
Between its fantastic hardware and Vivo's super-powerful processing, it's incredibly capable - but it's also super-AI-focused, adding a veneer to life that isn't always there. That makes Vivo's X100 Pro very cool, and a bit alarming for traditional photographers.

your gonna hate the pro plus na couple months then with it's even more advanced sensor
pro plus will have a better camera in theory with the lyt900 but as seen with the imx989 it's taken vivo a couple years to truly maximize that sensors potential, which we are only seeing now with this phones mind blowing pictures..
So Ive ordered this phone and will skip a generation and upgrade next year 2025 to THAT pro plus ,depending on if enough strides have been made with the lyt900
Also the dimensity soc convinced me to get this phone as it's a monster..the pro plus in a couple months will have snapdragon which in my view is a downgrade

@@blaxican_ yeh I know but to be honest in bens gadget reviews he did a comparison and in my opinion the vivo took better pictures. And if you look in his comments many felt the same...I've always been unsure about oppo phones pictures I don't think hasselblad is doing enough that partnership ..

This was exactly what I was trying to explain to someone. When I compare the photos this phone took to the real life scene in front of me, the photos look better than reality - like the prettiest possible interpretation of the scene.
After living with phones with mediocre cameras over the past decade, for my next one, I'd like one with a great camera and have narrowed it down to this one. I'll wait awhile to see how prices fluctuate before importing one. Great review.
Yeah... I think I can wait 2-3 more months and hope to get one for $600-$800 and make it a capable 1a phone (currently has a S3 Ultra)

I'm also into Find X7 Ultra. I'd have considered Vivo 100X Pro but I prefer SD gen 3 over Dimensity 9300.

The chinese model is missing some LTE frequency bands that are used in parts of Europe. You may have some connectivity issues because of that. I'm also considering getting the global version, and found that wondamobile is offering it. Have not bought from there yet though, so no opinion about the shop from my side.

lack of eSiM support (for me it's a deal breaker)
lack of B20 band support (that is a shitty LTE band for Internet, to be honest, but for calling over LTE might be important for someone)
different OS
no Android auto
probably not, but might encounter issues with some google services, banking, payments etc. (I say probably not, but it might happen if you are unlucky)

Nice! What about the texture mode? Sounds less sharpened? (probably not). So whats the point of the ZEISS mode?
Zeiss gives natural pic and Vivo default more towards vivid

Right! I love Xiaomi, though am not ALWAYS sold on Leica's processing. Leica Vibrant is too vibrant, and Leica Authentic is too muted. Vivo does a better job with balance in my opinion.
I used to own an oppo find x5 pro and I loved it. The operating software was extremely smooth and allowed you to customise pretty much everything. The camera was also great but sadly Oppo software updates over the year started over process the image and there was no way for me to stop that from happening. Not sure if it was intentional but I felt like they deliberately downgraded picture quality to push you more toward their latest phone. This is the reason I had to get rid of it before it loses too much of its market value. From my experience oppo provide great hardware and software but they can't seem to deliver a consistent long term good quality camera experience. The resell value of their product is also ins great.
Happen a lot with Xiaomi making me quit the Brand, (I had two and they degradate flagship mobiles to soon) thank you by saying that, cause now I know I need to avoid Oppo... I quited other brands because of that.
OK review. I watched this because it was an English fella and as I'm also in the UK, I hoped there would be more of a mention about the OS and compatibility with UK networks, data, GMS etc. I really like this phone but also need Gmail, banking apps etc etc.
Hi and thanks for the excellent video. I own vivo x100 pro and it is the best camera phone ever used (much better than any samsung or iphone) I have a question, I cant find how to trigger the shutter using the volume button? If there is no way to do it, is there any bluetooth trigger you would suggest?
That's strange - it works on my device. Maybe clear the camera settings by long-pressing the camera icon, selecting app info, select Storage and cache, followed by Clear storage. Note, this will reset your camera defaults, but it might fix the issue.
Are the raw files really usable.
How does it compare to the Oneplus 12's OS
How is the Front camera photo quality?
There are reviews about this phone that encourage you to buy it, beautiful photos, videos with incredible zoom and then there is your review haha

I cant' decide between X100 pro or Oppo find 7x ultra... Oppo has the latest sony lense, while x100 pro doesnt.
Anyhow.. I would like to try Mediatec CPU so I'm more with X100 pro this time...

vivo100pro chipset mediatec dimensity 9300 can match iphone 15promax apple chipset A17. and based on my research, it's much better. so, there you go.. 😊
Plus will be significantly more expensive, so consider that. Imho seeing Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Oppo X7 Ultra photos, I don't care much about phone having Sony LYT latest lens or not. The difference isn't that big, one phone takes one photo better, the other takes another photo better. It still is up to software and how well a manufacturer can utilize the sensors. Both are great. The main difference with Plus will be periscope 200Mpix lens. Mediatek will do just fine, you will have some fps drops when gaming for a long time and playing demanding titles, but tests already showed, Snapdragon 8 gen 3 have the same issue. I think we got to the performance point with smartphone CPUs/GPUs that cooling systems need to be improved. There are already phones with vapor chambers or tiny fans. It's inevitable, that heat has to be spread somehow.

I wonder if Vivo will release a Vivo X100 Pro Plus and how it will compare to the Samsung S24 Ultra and Oppo Find X7 Ultra.
It's scheduled to be released in the 2nd quarter of 2024 which is VERY interesting as vivo usually releases the pro plus much earlier. They may have something big coming

All good, but it's not one inch sensor - it's one inch type sensor. BIG difference.
This particular phone has that yellowish tone quite visible in all the reviews I saw which is a huge blow. I like the pitures to be cold toned like on Xperia and Xiaomi

Here in Singapore there was no announcement by Vivo or any tech sources about the phone being released here but Vivo themselves suddenly and quietly put it for pre-order on our local online shopping platform... Well, mine just arrived and hopefully there's a chance it might be released in Europe in a similar way!

Good phone with an good camera but... I almost bought it and then realised the display is way too dim! Too dim to shoot outdoors! 😳 I then looked this up on their website and "Local Peak Brightness" is 3000 nits but general brightness is 600 nits! My Pixel 6 Pro is around 750 nits! This is one deal breaker for me ☹️ Then it doesn't shoot 4K video!! Another major deal breaker. The OnePlus 12 shoots upto 8K video and has a bright display! These 2 major shortcomings are not befitting of a flagship phone! It does have an excellent finish all round and the OS is aesthetically sound. It also has the Sd 8 Gen 3 but at ₹90K it should have 4K and a bright display. It's not cheap! It's not OTT expensive like the Pixel 8 Pro (which has no improvements whatever!) but I would not touch a phone with 1080p max video and a dim display in 2024!
It does shoot in 4K 60 fps, he mentioned it.

To be fair you clicked on a review about a phone whose back is 40% covered by a huge camera bump...
There are plenty of phones who don't put cameras as their main focus as much as a lot of the flagships, and usually they're cheaper!
