Good quality. I don’t know what you were using before but this is tidy. Nice stretch of river. It doesn’t matter if you don’t catch it’s important to be out and getting some vitamin D and seeing nature. The fish will come when they are hungry enough! Look forward to more stuff on the channel. I always think it’s very decent of people to put their efforts into this video stuff it takes time and energy.
13:30 that wee run right in front of you is where I caught my biggest fish in WOL late in the season it was almost 25 inches long and the darkest brown I’ve ever seen & just round that bend under the wall on the left is where I caught the only 2 sea trout I’ve had in there easily identified with live lice still on them 😁 Tight lines ✌🏼💙👍🏼🏴
Ive seen a few really big trout in that run by the wall, but theyre hard to get to, and harder to catch. Ive tried getting in behind them, but its too silty to wade from the bridge at newhaven road for my liking.
At 10:50 the stretch beyond that bridge in front of you is a great bit more room to cast & loads of decent sized fish not many people fish it as you need to wade so I’d go back if you missed it on this trip 😉 Tight lines ✌🏼💙👍🏼🏴
Ive tried to get to it once or twice, but the water under the footbridge has always been too deep to wade safely. its frustrating, because you can see theres fish from the road bridge.
The bit where you realise you lost your fly box is my favourite part of the river. I usually cross the river and walk down the bank a little. Casting dries up into the riffle has got me many fish there. Had 6 out that one bit one evening.
@@davidgoss72 aye, Ive noticed that some of the bigger fish arent spooked in the least. Ive tried to fish there once already this season but the water was too hogh and the weather was a shite.I might try crossing over and fishing the riffle there, ta.
Hero 9 is excellent!!! 👍👍 Glad you found your flee box also. Keep the vids coming. I always struggle on still river water with a dry, prefer a faster flow and ripple to hide all my mistakes!! Thanks again 🎣👌
See im a lazy sod and I cant be arsed changing tactics, so if i start out with a dry, chances are i'll use it the whole day. thanks for watching, glad youre enjoying me babble on
Good stuff. I fished the Water of Leith now and then when I was a kid, I had relatives n the Balerno area I used to visit. Nice wee water up there but I never caught much. Did you find your fly box?
The first time I fished the Leith it was up by Balerno. It was the beginning of the season a few years back and I didnt see a single fish rising the whole day. It kinda put me off. There is good fishing on the lower beats, from the visitor centre down to the shore. Oh, yeah. I did find my flys, a good half mile downstream.
Nice picture quality on the 9 ( I feel an upgrade coming on😀). Any issues with it? I still think chest mount is better than having the footage flick about if it's on your head but yes you do tend to get the line wrapped around it sometimes.
its a good camera, i just need to get to grips with it as the options menu is pretty big. I was just using the default settings on this video, but Ive been watching a lot of tutorials and i think I might have found the combination thats right. the only issue Ive had is that the touch screen can be a bit unresponsive, but thats only in comparison to my phone, and that is a much simpler technology.
I did. I only changed fly once, and the box was right where I dropped it. I really need to do a check before I go from one mark to the next. I reckon I've lost about £100 worth of gear this season already.
@@thetattooedangler fab atleast that's afew quid back in the jacket. I never fish lower than the visitor centre? Hehe seems like we have both had better luck at opposite ends of the river. Think I need to give it ago for these monster folk are catch at the bottom.. are they rag worming the bottom end of the river?
Enjoyed this.. Subbed

Also don’t worry too much about spooking the fish there, they are so used to humans walking past on the path the don’t give a shit 😂
