Jahanzeb Burana is the co-founder CEO of Hoopoe, an ed-tech start-up with the mission to raise the level of education in Pakistan. He holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BSc Hons. (Gold Medal) from LUMS. He was previously CEO of the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade, the investment promotion agency of the government of Punjab. He has held various senior leadership positions in his career including sitting on the board of a bank in Europe and several state-owned entities in Pakistan. Sir You are absolutely right. We have lack of sense of direction. We literally don't know what we really wanted to do with our lives. And that's why most students get frustrated. Yes i am agree with sir because i was part of that classroom which sir mentioned at the start of his video.I have never met a teacher like Sir during my education. The best thing of hoopoe is encourgement. May Allah help you people in this journey.
I am lucky to be part of the English Bootcamp course. He is an asset to our country, I have learned a lot from hoopoe. The way of teaching is effective and it motivates me to work hard. I strongly agree with sir's point of view, our educational system needs improvement. I had been a victim of labialization for years, my confidence was shattered, I wasn't able to speak in front of anyone. My communication skills were literally zero, I start stuttering when speaking in front of anyone. All credit goes to my family, teachers, and friends' labels that they so easily engraved on me.
Teachers definitely play a vital role in building up a student life. I am blessed that I am a part of hoopoe and I have a teacher like sir jahanzeb burana
Teaching is an art. It's required to be learned and developed. Every person cannot teach because it needs the teacher to first understand the mental level of pupils then he will be able to learn them anything. As mentioned in the start of the talk by sir, a hypothetical statement, is very common in our govt. Education system which almost 80% of students from low income families faces in their educational journeys, which hamper their progress. We are, as a whole nation, not lacking in potential, but our youth needs to be encouraged in utilizing their talents in productive ways. Because motivation works as a fuel to thrive in any field of life. As very nicely, respectable speaker revealed the importance of guidance which is crucial for young generation in setting their future goals.
Sir jahanzeb portrayed all the major faults in our educational pedagogy very laconically by giving very obvious examples of daily lives and wraps all of his talk up very finely by presenting very helpful and useful suggestions.
It is quite unjustified if I don't agree with the facts narrated by speaker. Therefore, I consent with the honourable speaker.

He is one of the most people who have deep pain for student's education in Pakistan. I really liked his teaching method and the most important thing that I admire the most is that how he encourages the student to tackle any problem regarding study as a learning opportunity.
Agreed with you Sir. Our education system is not going to be improved until and unless we train our teachers. Almost every teacher know what to teach, but fewer among them know how to teach and behave with students. It's a great suggestion for teachers to consider themselves as salesman which will obviously transform their way of teaching and will have positive impacts on students too.

No doubt that's the alarming situation we have. I totally agree with Sir Jahanzeb. There is desperately need to put new mindsets in students as well as teachers. Students are treated like a parrot, they are taught passively in the classroom. What we need to do is to transform the fundamentals of learning means as Sir said.
Yes i am 99 % agreed with you as you highlighted the most critical issue . Students have no career counseling no proper teaching most teachers just focus on ratta . I also suffer with all these problems in my school life but alhamdulillah in college i got very responsible encouraging humble and kind teachers.

I agree with the speaker completely. Negative labels demoralise us badly, we end our efforts before even starting it. We have lack of direction, after doing lot of effort at the end we stand at a blank point where we don't even know move forward or backward. Alas after loosing our years and years still we are as a decade back....
I totally agree as our parents and teachers are persistently pressurizing us to follow societal rules of education. This educational system is impairing our self-esteem and confidence by not letting us ask questions.

I strongly agree with each of your word. Personally, I had passed my Masters degree in psychology, but I cannot feel my self confident enough to proceed it as a profession. Yes, it's 100% true. There is a strong behaviour of discouragement by teachers towards the students. Teachers try to inculcate the sense of not being able to do this or that. Only thing that we really need is the teacher's support and dedication.

EBC-504: I strongly concur with the speaker, this is because he proved himself (and also convinced his listeners) the reality of the education systems in Pakistan and the situation of the students through proper statistics. And for me as a student, each and everything from the initial physics class example and the discouraging labels till the perplexity regarding the future was very relatable.

First of all i'm lucky to have you. May Allah bless you and your team members and for those who contribute with you. I agree with you totally that unfortunately our teaching culture is depends upon rattalization. 100 out of 95 students have no idea what they will do after their completion of master degree or any other else including me. Students have a lack of confidence, they don't speak write or understand English even have master degree. Even so they don't speak urdu properly. So my recommendation is that every teacher should follow your path , act as a sales person as you spoke in your vedio.
