He was fired from his University and arrested over sedition charges. it's sad to see how a Cambridge Ph.D. grad gets treated in Pakistan.

Ammar, thank you for expressing your concerns about our depressing education system and for providing great ideas for resolving them. If higher education students are so frustrated, how do you feel about the 20 million children who will never see school in their lives?

Brilliant and thought-provoking speech with great analysis... parents and politicians need to hear this. Instead of increasing military spending, Pakistan needs to respect its youth and support them into fruitful employment... Rise up, Youth !

@Modič maybe because the person responsible for collecting taxes or the ministers responsible for health and education aren’t doing there job properly. 10 billion is nothing. Your level of political corruption is worse.

Every country has a end goal of becoming a great nation or become a superpower, but here our end goal is to destroy India and Israel which is thought to us by our parents since we are like 9 or 10 years old we are never thought to become better than India or Israel. Jab yehi karoge to yehi haal hoga na mulk ka 🤦‍♂️😔

This is what it is. In Pakistan, most youngsters daydream to go abroad even they are educated, for they presume that happiness, a prolific life, and security they are coveting subsist in doing so. Having said that education has nothing to do with the job, high salary, and being so physically sturdy but critical thinking, intellect, and sense of justice, power of asking questions, knowing not only what is wrong and right but how to make the wrong right, finding solutions, and the rest: money, fame, and security are the perks that come along automatically if someone sincerely has done the job. Moreover, it is glaring veracity that students admitted to foreign universities are, in fact, not for the knowledge but to get settled there and get their family or relatives there, so it depends on the intentions of a particular human being. On top of that, those who got the education, whether from abroad or Nationally, are willing to drive Taxis - such as some doctors - in western countries. We need to judge our intentions, which are only known to us, as others only guess or assume. Thank you for reading; no offense.

Bravo! Young man. Break it (the educational situation) down for the world. It is very said to hear what you are saying because Pakistan has an incredible number of brilliant children and young adults. Pakistan will suffer from “ brain drain”. In other words other countries will welcome them and make use of Pakistan bright young scholars. Jobs? Jobs exists outside of Pakistan. Pakistan is rich in brain power. Thank Allah for scholars like YOU.

All the other structural issues and prevailing blocklades in the academia aside, I think, the fundamental problem with our education system is that it doesn't work in tandem with the job market or industry. The misallocation and embezzlement of education funds is another issue. But, as the speaker quoted the example of Harvard, it's relevant to undertake the prevailing debt crisis of students, who study while securing loans from the academia or federal or state government itself. But, despite such a disheartening challenge to pay the debt, the university accommodates numerous programmes for students to earn through different intership or fellowship programmes, while pursuing their education at the university. While in Pakistani context, students are more encouraged to pursue education wholeheartedly, and look for employment opportunities, and that in government sector, later on after graduation. This leaves them baffled and kinda of disenchanted after their graduation, once they find themselves struggling in competitive job market. So, many who can solve the riddle earlier tend to leave the country, which precipitates brain-drain, to seek employment in welcoming countries. So, I believe, apart from being under-budgeted, our education system is in a vicious cycle, without any guided or intended outcome. The list of discrepancies goes on but I should end here, I guess.

There's no lefty no eighty, it is a fact that India is under stress regarding future of students in India when the same fundamental ideologies say "these universities are anti national".
I think we can only respite in the fact that Indian society still has not become what these so called nationalists are trying it to make. May India become a power for good which is open, secular, free and tolerant.

Future for students in India looks bleak.
Unemployment, getting tags of anti national, etc.. These things are only rising.
But okay, not giving up. Nope. Never giving up.
      All the best to everybody.

The guy didn't say what he studied in those University abroad! And on what field he is teaching! His speet was everywhere didn't make much sense except for last one minute! 😊
In my opinion hopelessness come from the society one live-in and the culture they r raised in. Last month I happen to read a news that a 90 year old grandma in Kerala ,india got her degree! For her this degree means to prove a point to herself that she is not going to die uneducated or without a degree . But life didn't stop for her in all those years. Every life has a purpose, by means of how they r going to contribute to the society they r liveing in. Ppl r studying to become something rather than to do something that is very crucial to the society they belong to.

With all these evils flourishing in Pakistan isn't it a wonder how this country is still existing. But if no radical changes are brought soon it's doomed. Majority of Pakistanis has still not realized what a great leader God has given them in the form of Imran Khan. Mubahar Luqman said a day before that if elections are held MLN will win. How sad, how shameful. Sometimes I curse myself for belonging to these people.
