The clones think of the place as their home, which is why the directors put so much effort into these scenes… it shows that while Jedi found it a cloning plant, it’s the clones that made sure that the main ships didn’t get through. But they were so focused on the large landing craft, that when they shot the small ones, they didn’t realize they were helping separatists.

They surprisingly have a much smaller crew than you'd expect for a ship that size. It's around 7,400 crew with up to 2,000 troops for ground operations.
Think of it this way they would need that many. Because once kamino is gone thats the republics main and only armed forces creation area gone leaving the republic to grow weaker and having them possibly loose before they could even get a chance to win.

No he wouldn't. He wouldn't have done anything more than the other competent Admirals/Generals. The Empire lost because of the culture of kill or be killed in the ranks, not because there was a shortage of talent. Thrawn and Vader were both incredibly talented Admirals/Generals but were unable to deal with the rebels because of Sidious. Instead of building thousands of improved Tie-fighters, Sidious decided to dump his resources into a planet killer that took up all of th Empire's resources.
He wasn’t that great of a tactician, above average but nowhere near the likes of Thrawn or Ackbar. Dude also lost to Gungans, if Vader couldn’t deal with the rebellion I don’t think Grievous would fare much better.

As for getting captured, he had to solo an entire army, and was ready th throw down, only loosing to an unexpected suicide bomb, to scale dooku surrenderd to a force much smaller and got captured without a fight, vader wasn't much of a leader as grevious was, he lived both his lives commanding army's, vader spends his following orders.
There is the cool quote "next time they'd better bring bigger guns" and the sad episode in "the bad batch" where they do bring the big guns and orbitally bombard the stations...
And a risky one as well considering the republic had a massive fleet on the planet basically making it a fortress in the space not to mention your attacking the birthplace of the clones and they would fight to death protecting it ( including the fact there was so many variations of clones like ARF,ARC and some clone legions)
@JustT123 didn't they also already have the marine troop carriers in the on planet for this siege. It was extremely thought out and very nearly was a success.

I like to think how literally trooper would have been literally preparing for this attack, every pilot flying out of every venator at once, every door sealing in Tipoca City. Not only does this music resonate this battle x15 stronger, but I also noticed the look on Anikan's face as he's jumping into his fighter like fearful but determined to kick ass. Not only that I fucking love the line-up of all the 10+ venators plus the smaller ships flanking the front venators. Just hands down the coolest battle in Clone Wars.
The real question is why the Separatists didn’t use one of the many insane weapons we see them build, test and use throughout the series to take Kamino and halt clone production Although I guess the answer to that is Sidious, but then that begs the question why he allowed this attack in the first place
I believe it's for the same reason for a lot of his choices in the CW, to sow discord and doubt about the Republic's strength and slowly tighten his deathchoke on the galaxy. The Republic very nearly lost the key to their clone army in this episode (Using those kickass squid ships) which more likely than not sent a ripple to just about anyone with knowledge of the attack.
If Legends was still canon, a good reason would be to generate distrust on the Kaminoans' ability to defend their own facilities, and just how strategically sound is to have the *only* source of your army on a wayward planet in some semi-hidden outer system. Thus enabling Sidious to push for a secondary company to start spewing clones, but this time based on one of Coruscant's moons (cannot recall if it was a natural or artificial one), a move meant to ensure larger numbers of clones, produced faster (but with less mental stability), and ensure loyalty to Sidious, all under the guise of keeping clone production "safe." Yes, later comes the Battle of Coruscant, but that was *also orchestrated* by Palpatine, so all falls within his plans... allegedly.

Ya all if i remember correctly grievous and ventress launched this attack without informing dooku so they literally attacked the homeworld behind dookus back and it made him pissed af once he found out. Just imagine what would happen if they succeeded palpatines plans would be ruined if the CIS had access to the clone DNA
The fun part is, the attack only failed because of the Main Characters Anakin and Obi-Wan That show how great of a commander Grievous is Attacking the most defended places in the galaxy (Kamino and Coruscent) and only fail because of the plot

In other words if you watch the whole show in the sith POV Anikin has some sort of much war crimes as well had other Jedis. One thing I never understood is how Ventress got on Kamino or how Grievous did himself. I mean when Anakin got recalled cause Ventress started her attack the separatist fleet was in shambles meaning the space was uncontested. Did Grievous just take an unshielded droid ship down to the surface and not get shot down by the hundreds of clone fighters in the air?
The separatist made a grave mistake by attacking kamino. They knew that messing with the republic home was gonna cost them their failure bc the republic blockade was strong enough and with the help of anakin skywalker leading the air strike they knew that getting through the blockade was impossible
I think it was a mistake or maybe it wasn't public to all the jedi order that one of the council members wasn't a master so they just assume anakin was a master, even at the third movie he THOUGHT he was a master😅
