Rackets, clocks, pipe, drawer fillings, pop bottles, buildings, horizontal tracking shots, ... all very much in the Wes Anderson style. Color grade was on point. 10/10 will share with wife (huge Wes Anderson fan).
Wes Andersons style but 100% your own. And refreshingly silent as compared to all the other tribute films with a narrator holding the film hostage. You told the story with your set, your camera work, your editing, and most importantly, with your actors.
Wes Anderson has actually inspired a modern silent film style. So many people who have made his style on UA-cam haven't had to put dialogue(unless it's the narrator) He is a true genius and innovator in my opinion. His audience doesn't just fawn over his genius instead we are moved to produce or at least find a way to engage with the work.
To echo what's been said, the color grading is beautiful. But what jumps out the most to me is the composition of color in the frame. Artfully well balanced. Loved it!
This is amazing, definitely Wes Anderson inspired, but can clearly see your own style as well! The composition of the shots is what really impressed me. Brilliant Job
a beautiful piece of artwork. You said it was inspired from Wes, but the tone of originality is vibrant throughout the whole film. Keep making such amazing films, mi amigo
Just Lovely! I really like the scene where the kido punches the guy dressed in black, and that take where he looks at him from the building. Sweet! 11/10 would watch again.
🥇 I can only repeat what the many experts here have already said: All in all, a real Wes Anderson‼️ In addition to all the many similarities (right down to the text animation) and other cute little things, I particularly liked the very precisely tidy drawers at 1:20 and 3:00 (which of you is the authist 😉?). Congratulations to the whole crew. Continued happiness and success. 🍀
Hi I was reading one of the comments and you're located in Chicago? I'm a music major at Columbia College is there any way I could help I think what you guys did with this film from the music to the cinematography not only captured the atmosphere of anderson but was able to have so much character development in 7 minutes. Truly impressive.
this is the best ! each shot was mesmerizing and everything about the story was great and heartwarming. very inspiring, i hope to make videos like you someday 💗
A little late to the comments but I just want to let you know that you have done an amazing job here. You captured one of my favorite aspects of Wes Anderson movies where the whole movie feels like a smile. A smile because it happened, even through all the challenges. I love it, great job. Subscribed
This is well done! Are you sure you're not Wes Anderson himself? Lol. I make mostly hiking silent 'films' on my channel but I've been wanting to try this genre for a while now. I'm so inspired by this!
Thanks so much! The style really came from all parts of production-from our lens choices to the color of our sets and costumes. As for post production, we graded it like films from the 70s and emmulated 16mm film stock. Hope that answers your questions!
How did you get this look in the film? was it the camera or the editing? I love the old school feel. I have been looking for an 80s VHS camera so I can film off of it.
I didnt read the title very well and thought it was a Wes Anderson film! Amazing work, Its funny because i was looking at his work to find something inspiring and this is inspiring. Its kinda ironic, dont ya think?
this is fantastic. I'm blown away. you guys are great. the only thing I couldn't figure out was the swaying dolly shots...but you guys are great and I want to work with you. but that'll probably never happen..

And it moves beyond film. There's a photography style called "Accidentally Wes Anderson" now
one of the few Wes Anderson inspired films I have actually enjoyed

+Wes Brooks Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah, that was probably the most Wes Anderson non-WesAnderson movie
wes anderson vibe
dudes great job really, i loved all the wes style, i have a couple of question, how did you recreate the effect? did you use a post production effect?
Thanks so much! The style really came from all parts of production-from our lens choices to the color of our sets and costumes. As for post production, we graded it like films from the 70s and emmulated 16mm film stock. Hope that answers your questions!
this is really exciting! what was the sound used?
I want to know that! Did you ever find out?
@@elliswhitevideography2523 not yet but i'll let you know as soon as i find out.
The music is an original score composed by Brandon Mooberry! Sound effects were recorded around our studio after the shoot. :)
@@matchcutstudios5791 thank you!
How did you get this look in the film? was it the camera or the editing? I love the old school feel. I have been looking for an 80s VHS camera so I can film off of it.
+Chad Micah Johnson We emulated a 16mm film stock and graded it to match films from that era.
what camera was this shot with? and any advice on what camera to use for beginners?
Nice
I didnt read the title very well and thought it was a Wes Anderson film! Amazing work, Its funny because i was looking at his work to find something inspiring and this is inspiring. Its kinda ironic, dont ya think?

Radial Imagery I'm in NJ near NYC
+Ethan Hoffman gotcha. We're in Chicago. Feel free to private message us about collaboration. We are always looking to work with others on projects.
Radial Imagery awesome! will do! I've got background in cinematography, acting and directing so...I guess whatever you would need help with
May I know what editing app was used for this? On a side note, this was spectacularly Wes Anderson!
Nailed it!
So much better than all the other Wes Anderson inspired shorts. So good well done. Was the guitar at the end in sync though?
2 years later and I still don’t know
@@matchcutstudios5791 I honestly don't know what I was talking about lol, looks in sync to me
