    I still can't get over how accurately they got the camera panning, shots, unusual angles, the Owen Wilson impression, text font, and just everything just screams Wes Anderson that I can't believe he wasn't secretly involved in making this

      That's because his style is so predictable. SNL have comedians - they understand humor. Wes Anderson movies are the same joke in every movie. Weird shit happens and people act like robots. So boring.

    In addition to everything that everyone else already brought up - the perfect use of colour, framing, fonts, “quirky” archaic references, etc. - the music was also fantastic. Perfect juxtaposition of symphonic classical, indie folk, and kitschy 1950s pop. Truly, one of the best parodies of Anderson I have ever seen; and perhaps, even, one of SNL’s finest shorts.
    We love you, Wes. Never change ❤️

      Agreed - great parody requires the both the maker and the audience to be familiar with the conventions of the subject. Maybe Anderson is still too niche to click with the majority of the audience? I loved it.

    Fun fact : for this bit, Edward Norton asked Wes Anderson how he would name a horror movie, if he was to direct one.
    Wes came up with three titles and the SNL writers just had to pick which one they liked best.
    They also asked Wes' girlfriend to steal some of his cloches, including a pair of pink socks.

    3 years later and this is still 10/10. Can directors host SNL? Would be hilarious if Wes Anderson (g)hosted. You never see him except for the opening monologue, and he directs all of the skits. Each one features one or more of his frequent fliers along with the SNL cast.

      Honestly? Bringing on host directors that direct the skits and bring along frequent flier guest actors just sounds like a pretty awesome way to spice up SNLs formula generally.

      Agreed! I quite recently became a fan of his work due to my recent interest in Owen Wilson, which is is due to my interest in the character he played, Mobius, in the Marvel series Loki. Wes Anderson makes some pretty interesting films and it's amazing how different and unique they are to those made by other directors. I wish I had found out about him sooner.
