I've found, when using brass screws, if I first drive in and back out a steel screw of the same size I reduce enormously the chance of snapping off the soft brass screw heads when I drive those in. It's an extra work step of course, but it's paid off for me many times.
Dittos! I've done the same thing. Brass screws are pretty, but not very strong. Sometimes I will lubricate the screw too with a little bit of solid soap. This helps them go in better with less friction.

I think I am going to make one of these, only thing different is to glue up some felt to the inside walls so as to save the dice a little injury.
You could make a dice tower look like a castle and maybe where the dice end up a moat. Ohhhh, ahhh. Or, do a LOTR Sauron tower. So many options.
I would add a dice catapult to launch them into the top of the tower from below.

I built a dice tower a few years ago. My first oak project instead of the box store 1x or 2x wood. I find that it's a bit loud, so I went to a craft store and got a sheet of thin foam to put on the entry area at the top, on each platform, and one on the output tray. Quiets the dice quite well.
Hmmm, foam to quite dice fall, that's an interesting thought.

I've been using my brace to drive screws... works wonderfully for rough carpentry projects in construction lumber. No splitting even without predrilling.

I think I'll make this to help practice various woodworking techniques away from the shop. Want to practice sawing? Roll 11 or above for a perfect cut. For every point below 11, roll to figure out which direction the cut is off. 1 or 2 and the cut is too far to the left or right. 3 or 4 and the top of the cut is tilted to the left or right. roll 5 or 6 and the front of the cut is to the left or to the right. Roll again to get the magnitude of the error, multiplying by 2.5 degrees for an angular measurement, or one sixteenth of an inch. But if you roll two sixes for this, you accidentally use metric instead of imperial, or vice versa. For every year of experience, subtract one from 11. More simulations can be purchased separately in the expansion packs.

I was about to ask if you did some tabletop role playing. I've always wanted to but I find it so difficult to get into a character. I'm so monotone as well that I know it won't help, unless I wanted to go for a Deckard Cain role "Stay awhile and Listen!" then give a boring math lesson lol! Good job on the tower!

In electrical engineering there's the Nyquist Sampling Theorem. It turns out to also apply to saws. The tooth spacing should be less than half the thickness of the material you're cutting so there will always be at least two teeth engaged with the cut.
You can incline the saw a bit to make the cutting surface up to 40% longer.

the only ones that I measured were the 9" high and 9" long. the front lip is 1.5" high. everything else was jsut eyeballed to fit and adjusted as needed. the whole thing is 3.5" wide.
