I love the footage of the design process and workflow instead of just copying the staircase design plans that are already online on woodworking forums and 3D print pages. I mean, it is still a similar end product but we get to see the shop creative process almost live.

Okay, I have an idea. Hear me out.
I've hoped for a long time that you'd develop a table accessory where you can connect a tabletop tile (or several) to the table's magnetic rail. But you could kill two birds with one stone if this hex tower also had magnets to connect it with the tabletop tiles system, assuming it could be the same dimensions. Then you can put the hex tower in facing different directions by re-orienting the hex, but the same table accessory would allow you to insert whatever tabletop tile you wanted. Additionally, this means the hex tower would click into a set of tabletop tiles.
Sure, you wouldn't be able to smoothly rotate the tower, but I think this would provide more options with fewer SKUs. Just a thought.

Having options is good, but uhmm... why is it not made to fit the current hexy tiles with the magnets adn stuff? Like you have a hexy tile that is made to be a receptacle for things going up like the tower, make it modular if you have more upwards scaling things you wanna make and it fits in for everyone that has regular tiles ?

I have an awesome idea! Since it's hex you can make it a dice tower AND a new type of hexy tray. Here's what I'm thinking...
You'll have two parts. The bottom and the stackable barrels. As we've learned, barrels really only need two platforms to bounce well. If you want more you can stack them. Exactly the way he designed is perfect. My idea is all for the bottom.
First, get rid of the first two platforms on the bottom. It should just be the ramp. This will also justify the modularity. The tower you currently have designed doesn't actually need the extra barrels. Next make it thicker. Elevate the ramp up higher. Since it's a little higher you'll want a shallower angle which will also help with the next idea.. Flip it over and make it.. *drumroll.. THE DEEP DISH* hexy tray.
Now, if you don't need a rolling tower it doubles as a very predominant and elevated dish for a large shared bank of tokens.
    '
And since it's a hex tray now you might even be able to add the compatible connecters as well. It would be easy for the bottom. The top would be tricky but if you could make that work then you could use other hexy trays like the tavern tile as a lid. Not sure if that functionality is worth it but maybe.

Love the stackable concept. How insane would it be to make the modular toppers "tuned" to different pitches or timbres? Maybe different hardwoods, thicknesses, cutouts, etc. Not so far as a marimba tone, but just maybe a selection of general "tones" to make a giant tower even cooler and more personal than just the height of it.
