On the other hand, I watched a Mountain Of Hell race of a man starting last and finishing 39th and am now DETERMINED to complete this race, I am the “bought a mountain bike due to COVID-19” archetype
the two guys from Owlaps were good but this guy is just insane. He would go through places with ease that other people came to almost a complete stop for
I would have broken probably everything in my body attempting that at those speeds. Also I'm really impressed with how stable the frame is given how bumpy the ride is
There are many bitter and salty people in the comments who don't even know how this works and keep criticizing, shortcuts are allowed as long as they pass between the official signs, it doesn't lose merit, quite the opposite, implies knowledge, skill and experience, doing the best route with the minimum of error
This is now the third video I've seen of this race. The other two were also very impressive as they try to pass every rider from last place to first. But this guy that finished first is even more impressive. He's riding like he's being chased by an axe murderer who'll cut off his private parts and feed them to his dog. That's really the best way I can explain how crazy fast this guy is going. It's super human honestly. Amazing.
The other vid of the guy who blows his tire is impressive too.. He must've passed hundreds of people the entire time up until he blew it. Had he not experienced equipment malfunctions, he probably would have gone from near last place to top 10..
How do you train your hands to deal with this kind of exhaustion? Damn, I have so much respect for this level of riding. Al factors come in to play and this guy did his homework! ...and everything was beautifully captured on video for us to enjoy... Thanks for this.
I just watch someone who also participate in this sports but he was at the very back, he had a great run and overtaking everyone, too bad for him he got a flat tire at the middle. anyway just realize how big of advantage it is when you're in the front.
So you also came from that video? Also you have to remember that they also started having bike problems halfway through but before that they were doing very position wise

He was at the beginning so eh. Should watch the other guy that started in the back, beat most of the people, got a flat tire half way through, plugged merch and coupons, and apologized for sniffing bc of the dust so wholesome
The videos of the people that started in the back are far more interesting. You get to see them overtake people and the mega crash that happened. See a lot more falls and tougher terrain due to the people in the front
