Stayed on the same site this August; beautiful. The "swing" might be a type of bear hang where you loop the toogle to your barrel, attach a long second rope, and the pull the barrel away from the tree. In so doing, the barrel lifts into the air, and if you tie off to the right tree, your barrel's safe and sound. This technique can be used in those forests that are primarily conifers without big branches. Never gad call to hang that way myself, but its an option. At least that's my guess as to why that rope and toogle were there. Alternatively, it could have been a swing. Lol.
Glad you enjoyed the video! I liked Parkside Bay but I don't know if I'd put it in 'bucket list' territory for me personally lol. Beautiful lake though, especially if you can go mid-week in the fall 👍
What a wait it was for these videos, and it do not disappoint. That was a great site, Cody; the only thing missing was some amazing meals on them 😁. I loved the night timelapses and the photos; I was surprised there were not many satellites in them. Elo is such a cutie 😍😍. Waiting for the next week now. Cheers ✌️.
Thanks so much, you're too kind. My meals are nothing like on your trips, I always just make a dehydrated meal for dinner... not very exciting for the video. I'll try and add a few meal shots in some of the upcoming videos though 🙂
Great video, and what an aweseome campsite!! I recently bought that same Sea to Summit mattress on sale, can't wait to test it out in cold weather. It's certainly very comfy, and surprisingly quiet too.
Looking forward to going back to parkside again. I’ve never repeated the exact trip but other than the 36 hour rainstorm last year, I would redo our fishing trip there in a heartbeat
Parkside Bay is beautiful! It was a lot more peaceful on my first night of the trip before all the groups showed up. But still beautiful nonetheless :)
Tips on how I can get over my fear of bears? Besides just buying myself a can or 2 of bear spray? I can't bring a dog either because where I live I am not allowed any pets 😒
Take a look at this article I wrote, it's very in-depth and should hopefully alleviate your concerns! algonquinbeyond.com/blog/bears-in-algonquin-park-everything-you-need-to-know/

With such going on in this world, this is what a person needs to rewind, reflect, and to give thanks that these places still exist

I think I'll put Parkside Bay on my bucket list, perhaps a fall mid-week trip as it's so popular. Thanks for sharing!

Such a beautiful site! I’ve only had the Sea to Summit for one season, but so far I’m a happy camper 👌🏼 Hope you enjoy it too
