    So nice to see you discovering Algonquin Park, a real treasure. I have many happy memories of canoe trips in the interior. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us. If you enjoyed Algonquin Park you should have a go at Temagami some time. A bit wilder, less traffic. Just as beautiful in a different way.

      We had a wonderful time, it's such a beautiful park! We're hoping to return in the fall. Temagami would be amazing! We had some friends growing up that would go every year and rave about it! It's amazing how unique each place is

    Oh my gosh I hate hanging the foodbag. I always end up standing in moose pooh in the semi-dark trying to get that done. Upcoming trip will be my first with a bear cannister. My days of hanging are over.

    Loved this video. Did you guys already have the camping gear or have you bought it expecting to do more camping with everything that's going on? Watching you guys make many attempts to get the rope over the branch brought back such fond memories of my time in north America - we don't have bears in the UK so we never need to do this here! Looking forward to the next video, even though it looks like it's a bit brutal on you guys!

    • @RichandKirsten
      @RichandKirsten  4 роки тому +1

      We did buy all of the gear new (although most of it was 40% off... that's our style) with the intent of using it a bunch more this summer. We're planning a huge adventure right now, gonna announce it as soon as we fix up some moving parts... 😏

    • @WhenAdventureKnox
      @WhenAdventureKnox 4 роки тому

      @@RichandKirsten Nice one for getting 40% off. Even if it was full price, it sounds like a good investment given everything that's going on in the world! So pleased to hear you guys are still adventure-ing. If you're travelling Canada, I have a lot of love for Nova Scotia 🥰I'd love to see vlogs from there... not trying to sway you or anything 😉🤣

    • @RichandKirsten
      @RichandKirsten  4 роки тому +1

      That was actually top on our list... the borders are closed to the eastern provinces right now though so that’s seeming like a fall trip. It’s coming though, promise!!

    • @WhenAdventureKnox

      This makes me very happy! Cape Breton is a must and I'd highly recommend the Skyline Trail. Rangers told us it's the best place to spot moose as they're used to people on the trail so don't run away. Middle head trail is also beautiful. On the mainland there's there's Peggy's Cove, not a lot to do but lovely to sit and take it in (sun set is wonderful). I loved Kejimkujik sea shore - white sands and turquoise waters, nice trail to get to it. Whilst I'd recommend Jo Ann's Deli Market (Mahone Bay) for lunch anyway - in the autumn it's particularly special with pumpkins lining the roof. Just giving these recommendations is making me want to go back... and I've done Nova Scotia twice!! I hope they open up the borders in time for your plans to still go ahead!

    • @RichandKirsten

    Just a question, how did you charge your camera gear while on the trial?

    • @RichandKirsten
      @RichandKirsten  3 роки тому

      Great question! We carry two batteries at full charge to start and a 8Ah portable battery pack which was sufficient for the days we were hiking. We’ve since upgraded to a 20Ah battery pack which is more sufficient for our needs now. The Sony’s have pretty poor battery life, only getting about 600 shots per battery, so with other cameras you might not have as big of an issue
