Gee Paul. Let's see. You deny Eric the opportunity to play a song on Ace's album, you deny him the opportunity to play some clubs with Ace, then you do your own tour. Then you release an album that uses a drum machine on many songs. And you wonder why Eric stopped talking to you.
@Coogan well, that's where you're wrong. Eric and Ace were talking about touring around the same time Paul did his first solo tour. Eric was also invited to play on Breakout a few years before, but Paul wouldn't let him. I heard this on one of the podcasts. If they're wrong, they're wrong. It makes sense to me. Ace and Eric got along real well.
But I'm glad you've chosen this time to reply to one of my comments that isn't so old that it's silly to reply to. 😘

Saw Kiss in Atlanta on this tour at the Lakewood Amphitheatre with my sister and a few other friends. Little Creaser, Danger Danger and Slaughter opened up for them . The show was amazing. Good times

I like Paul's work drive, he knows what he wants but accuses everyone if it doesn't go his way, I think you should go with the flow if you're in a band and if it's not working try out new things, instead of throwing shame and pointing fingers at the people that get onstage and back you.

I remember being very excited about House of Lords. Gregg Giuffria is from south Mississippi about an hour south of where I grew up and Giuffria was my first concert (they were opening for Foreigner). They were pretty much a re-constituted version of "Giuffria" but a little heavier. I liked them...but once Gregg retired from music...that was pretty much when grunge destroyed our beloved 80's metal.
9/16/23 Wowza! Great episode! After writing "Forever" with Bolton, Paul still wasn't accepted into the "Hollywood Songwriters", sad! And I forgot of Gene's record label...Good stuff!

Sometimes Paul is hard to follow for very long as he likes to rndomly throw in scenarios & strange big words that Ive never heard anyone say before & then it goes into him saying something I almost expect him to say. Wish hed drop the rehearsed script & just talk.

I was 12 when Hot in the Shade came out....i really liked this album...much more than crazy nights. I really feel bruce REALLY started coming out of his shell. His solos on this album were melodic and perfect
Ummm....there's an untruth here? Can you see it?? Here it is....Gene says he was 'best man' at Paul's wedding. In Paul's book he says, Gene was against marriage & therefore wasn't invited to his wedding & Paul says he was upfront about it right away. So, who's telling the truth???
Gene was Paul's best man at his first wedding to Pam. they got divorced a few years later. This is where is son Evan come from. Many years later, Paul got married again, and is still married, had 3 more kids, this is where Gene was not invited.

I've got news for Paul Stanley anybody that was around him in the '80s had to have drugs just to stand to hear his voice which nowadays he can't even hear I'll give him he made a lot of money but it was by fooling a lot of fans why do you think his solo album the one with the kiss emblem on it sucked so bad and his second solo album if he was so great at business and promoting himself he would have been playing arenas not clubs I don't think him or a lot of people will ever get without the original four and nobody wouldn't know who the hell he and that's a fact without the original kiss Paul Stanley on his own would have never got past the club scene Long live Ace and Peter

He doesn’t say this at all. What he does say is that during this time period, Gene wasn’t much of a partner. Gene mostly backs this up. I bet Gene regrets this now because it was this time period that allowed Paul to be the leader of KISS until present day.
Pro Tip: When you're in a rock band and your song gets misappropriated to Michael Bolton, you know you're doing something wrong.
That dude can sing Bolton. Any success is better than working 9 to 5 . Everything doesn't have to be heavy metal to be good. Forever is a great tune by this point Paul probably couldn't come up with totally on his own.
@@jonvisser1509 You make some valid points and I will grant you these. Paul is obviously a talented writer and performer, and his success can't be denied. He should be allowed to write and artistically explore in any musical style he wants.
I personally dislike the M. Bolton style because I find it bland and sappy, but that is just my taste; Everyone is entitled to have a different opinion.
I think the writing of this era of Kiss was pretty uninspired. Paul's negative attitude in the retelling of events in this video seem to correlate with this.
