Halloween 1979. I was six years old for some reason we were having trick-or-treating at my grandmother’s house and I remember asking my 52 year old grandmother over and over again to paint my face like “Gene Simmons from kiss” lol. I wanna look like kiss I wanna look like kiss of course my poor grandmother who was a wonderful woman had no idea what her six-year-old grandson was talking about. Rest in peace grandma

I believe that the problem with the first few albums was the speed. I know recording is slower than playing live but in my opinion way to slow

I was 9 when Dynasty came out. It was a great record. It really fit the times and I got to see them live. When Unmasked came out, I could just tell from the cover, KISS was done. They couldn't top that.

I wasn’t a fan of KISS in their late-70s heyday, but I was mildly curious. I borrowed my brother’s Alive 2, but that was all I’d listen to. In the meantime, I’d seen the band live for the Creatures and Lick It Up tours. I began buying their catalog sporadically throughout the 80s. It wasn’t until 1988 that I first heard The Elder, the record I always ignored due mostly to the very un-KISS like artwok. I really liked most of the songs immediately. It is one of the KISS records I will listen to regularly. It has taken on new life as it has aged… same with Creatures.

I've listened to enough of these vids and have learned to filter out most of the opinions. The details and song clips are what's best for me. Alive and Destroyer made KISS a household name, but it was RARO and Love Gun (and the original band's run through Dynasty) that really pulled me in as a kid. Destroyer and RARO are both outstanding productions in different senses. Where the former showed what KISS could stretch to do, RARO best showed what the band did best. Great songs, great sound...no shortage of memorable riffs (Love 'em, Leave 'em my favorite song)...\m/

I remember watching Kiss meets the phantom of the park in the early 80s on Halloween I do believe it was aired on tv. As a kid I thought it was great, as the 80s and 90s went on I found a copy on vhs in my teens. I realized that ace was played by a stunt guy in some scenes and the box floating in air had wires. lol..as a kid I sure didn’t notice, loved it though.

I met gene in Louisville Ky. I wanna say it was 2001, gene had written the book sex, money, kiss. Gene was doin a promo Tour at book Stores to help Sell his book, actually this was the second one at the time.I took 2 records hoping he would sign them along with my books. He was super cool to me and my kiss friend. Got that photo on my wall still today..Love hotter than hell record..Great videos!

I love the unmasked record and it is one that never gets old! I was born in 75 and my uncle introduced me to Kiss in 81 when I was 6. Changed my life to this day! U guys can only imagine how many times I saw them on the reunion tour, psycho Circus tour, I even got to work on the reunion tour ending in 2000. It was one of the best experiences in my life! Got setlist from Stage, guitar picks all kinds of cool things, huge collector to this day! Kiss only band I have tattooed on my self!! Love these videos!

You know what? Who cares about anybody's opinion in the band about other members. Ace is still out there doing it, for better or worse, Peter is living his life on his own terms, the only ones who like dragging the past up to criticize are the oblivious ones who continued to tour with two replacements pretending it was still 1977 until last year. But hey!!!!!!!! The Aviators will be here in 2027 and I'm sure there will be enough idiots who will go to this. Let the corporate machine roll.

Wow Never heard these stories before. These stories are better than the books they came out with.

The title track to this album was terrible. I heard terrorist organizations play this song to torture government prisoners and get them to speak. There's a whole lot of he said she said crap regarding this era of KISS, but long story short Paul single-handedly kept the band alive in the 80's. Gene sure af wasn't helping and just phoning in his filler songs. The proof is in those albums. To put it all on Paul's shoulders was bullshit, which is why he did a brief solo club tour and kicked Gene in the ass to start contributing more after Hot in the Shade, starting with the Revenge album.

I actually back in the 70's ! Delivered lots of ferry dust to the studio! For ace during the solo Albums ! He used to say curly come in and hang out ! But i had a buisnes to run ! Although i do remember once going in << Rip it out was playing < I said wow i like that ace ! What ripping out the $ For betty white!😅😅😅😅

The transition from Cat to FOX was great and in my opinion was respectful and motivating.

Solos; 1- Ace, 2- Paul, 3- Gene, 4- Peter. If you are into the R&B thing, then maybe I can see the appeal of Peter's album. For me at the time, I wanted hard rock and only hard rock, so I completely dismissed Gene and Peter's albums. Still feel that way today. I remember hearing Rip it Out for the first time and saying YESSSSSSSS !!! Way to go, Ace.
