That part where Gene said the band called him out for going Hollywood for dating Cher and Diana. That was before he really went hollywood with acting.
I hardly ever back Gene any more but him dating Cher and Diana was rock n roll af!
I was 8 when they toured. Unless you were there, you have no idea how huge KISS was in Oz at this time.

I get pissed, because I am a die hard Peter Criss fan, and loved Eric Carr as well, my point is, Peter and Eric Carr got along very well, and talked on the phone from time to time!!! Love both of them!!! 🐱🐱🐱

It’s interesting how Australia took to KISS. I can understand Japan as there was the Kabuki aspect…I suppose basic hard rock in Australia was very popular and add to the fact KISS had the whole costume/theatre aspect.
Remember, AC/DC were from Australia, and had been rocking the Aussies hard years prior. Your statement about Australia liking hard rock made me think: "Why would that be"?
I figured that Australia never had much rock other than their hometown boys who by that time, were selling out arenas wordwide.

Kiss weren’t playing soccer stadiums, as Gene says, in Australia. They were playing cricket grounds (apart from Lang Park, a rugby league ground), which are much larger.
That was horrible of Gene.
Paul said that they bought Eric a Porsche to welcome him into the band and that he was a part of it. Then this bill guy said that Eric was a hired gun until the end. ???
He definitely was a hired gun. A valued employee but an employee none-the-less. I look at the Porsche as a signing bonus. Eric wanted to paint the Porsche camouflage and Paul says “Absolutely NOT!” And so Eric didn’t. Makes me wonder if it was a company car, or whose name was on the title.
Somewhere I read that they already owned the Porsche 928 and that it didn't run very well
