I like the idea of using the dubbing loop on the herl and tinsel. I tie flies and I'll have to try that technique on some of the flies I tie. Awesome pan fish and crappie jig. You could probably catch trout on this by just changing the colors
Great looking pattern, looks like it could pass for a hex nymph or something nice juicy. Thanks for sharing all your cool patterns, I love them all. Happy holidays to you and yours 👍🎅
this pattern works for pan fish, yellow perch, and brook trout! it is real fish catcher in size 8,10, and 12,,,, i never used it in smaller or larger sizes,, some days it just dont matter what the color is,, thank you for the tips
Sorry for my late reply, but what I meant was another tool --- the one that has a head that looks like a flat-head screwdriver that you cut the thread with at the very end of the video. And thank you very much for replying to me, I appreciate it!
Oh man, beautiful fly, kinda clouser style but different ... and I love that funky wide-gap hook !!! :-)
Thanks for watching!

It's the back end of the whip finisher. Some of them have chisel tips for cutting line.
