This is one of the simplest and cheapest one material crappie jigs with so many color options. But the actions are superb after it’s soaked in the water! A good crappie jig fly to tie for beginners as well as experts!

Fly Tying - Slab Crappie Foxy Queen
Переглядів 2,4 тис.3 роки тому
Slab Crappie Foxy Queen is designed to be used as a streamer. This fly will slowly sink with no extra weight added on the hook shank. This is a new hook that I have been trying to use for a slow sink streamer for slab crappie. The size of the fly is approximately 2” long. The material used for the tail has excellent movement to entice stubborn crappie to bite. Please subscribe and hit a 👍 butto...

thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Can u keep the trout in this area
Yes, you can if you catch fish below the catch & release sign. Thanks for watching!
Sweet!
Mustard hook?! haha Great tie. I might crank a few out this weekend. It's so smoky out, staying inside tying flies sounds good!
Good luck! Thanks for watching!
Love this pattern!!! Are you using buck tail for the tail? Thanks so much for sharing!
I used super hair fibers for the tail. All the materials are described in the full video posted. Thanks for watching!
@@arkansasfishingadventures777 thanks and tight lines!
Love your tying technique and video production quality. I'm a commercial tyer and a fan.👏👏👏

Thank you!
What is the green thread or string you used for the body? Almost looks like embroidery thread.
Thanks for watching! You’ll find all the materials used for this fly in the full video (ua-cam.com/video/ff2YeDQ7yQY/v-deo.htmlsi=FtKSvpg0f9IhKmqm).
Enjoyed this, a lot of work, and it looks great. New subscriber in Redfield Arkansas
Awesome, thank you!
Thanks for posting the video. I'm fairly new to using bamboo fly rods and I recently picked up a vintage bamboo rod. The reel seats appear to be a sliding band type with no threads for attaching the reel. My question is without threads how do you you secure the reel to the rod with these type of sliding rings?
These slide rings real seat are usually used for a light rod, say, 1-3 weight rod. Just simply push both rings toward a reel and they’ll be secured. If the reel is too heavy or big, it may not stay in place where you originally set it. It tends to turn on the reel seat insert. I hope this helps you. Thanks for watching!
😊👍
I've watched so many of these videos but you have talent.
Thank you!
You throw this on a fly rod or traditional?
I use my fly rod but you can also cast with ultralight spinning setup. Thanks for watching!
Materials list please. Thanks
You’ll see step-by-step instructions with materials to tie this fly with if you go to the full video: ua-cam.com/video/ZI4969iTp3E/v-deo.htmlsi=voXybGMdqgKnd2_f Thank you for watching!
Very nice
Nice!❤
Awesome work!
Fished the White River and Bull Shoals Lake several years ago. Caught more Trout and Smallmouth than you can count. I was an amazing week. Came across your UA-cam Channel today. Subscribed instantly. One of the most amazing I have seen. Thank you for all the videos you are sharing. Incredible amount of help and information on fishing and fly tying. Can't wait to get into more of your videos. God bless.
Nice work👍🏻🎣🎣

I missed ya buddy. Great content. Thanks!
I appreciate that! Thanks for your support!
When you blocked the uv application with your hands what did you coat? Great tie
I was coating the black thread part and all around where I whip finished. Thank you for your comment!
I bet a little glitter (can play with colors of glitter as well) into the UV resin placed on the thread at the end to give it a little more razzle dazzle if needed.
another great job !! glad ur back
Thanks again!
Nice ty!! Tight lines🐜🕷️🐛!$$$
Thanks for watching!
Where can you fish for trout around greersferry that isnt catch and release
You can fish and catch trout anywhere from the last outlet (end of catch & release area) down to the end of the campground.
Where is the best place around there for big browns or rainbows
I would fish the catch & release area below Greers Ferry dam.
Interesting way to make a jig. I've neverr tried it that way.
Simple and easy! Thank for watching!
Glad to see you back Enjoy the channel
Thank you for your support!
It has been a while. Glad to see you are back, right when I need you, at the start of the Crappie Spawn. You always have good patterns or old one with a nice twist. Thanks for the great video.
Thank you for your support!
Thank you sir for sharing your craft! Houston

Wow! That finish looks great! Which finish do you like to use? Thanks!
I used Helmsman Spur Urethane clear gloss for this. I use the same finish for my bamboo rods. Thank you for watching and leaving your comment!
Hi Did you use any dubbing wax or anything? I’ve never used dubbing but I’m interested now. Thanks
No, I did not use any dubbing wax. Thank you for watching!

It's like the Mustache Minnow by Mustache Jigs & Flies - a jig adapted from the "Baby Fat Minnow" by Fly Fish Food - except you made this 4 years ago. This pattern is awesome in both natural and vibrant colors. 👍
Thanks for watching!
Years ago i tied up a bunch of Skip Morris Flies called the Predator, for a fellow down your way. I just thought they would make a nice pattern for panfish and they did ! They zeroed in on it and he landed what he called nuclear Blues. Your pattern is very similar! Great job!!
Thanks for watching!
Im pretty sure these will work on trout as well, they often have similar diets. Another nice pattern i have not seen but you know it's going to work on more species! More like the Trout Killer! Arkansas has some beautiful trout water, ❤
Thanks for your comment!
Are you still out there? This is a very nice pattern! Is it your own? Nice work!
I'm currently taking a break from making videos but planning to resume sometime in the future. Yes, this is my original pattern. Thank you for your kind comment!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
