Thank you so much for this video! Since electronics come with almost no instruction, this just "fixed" my problem. I had lost all of my bass on my subwoofer; I had no idea that the chime had anything to do with it. So, now I have LOTS of bass back!!
Was just about to order these on Amazon thought I'd watch a quick review before I did and you video was exactly what I needed to give me confidence in them. Thanks a lot.
And how are they?
@@timomybier3823 yeah they're great. I'm no expert but the sound quality is great for what I need them for.
@@sterling68 what about deep and high sounds in music? What about movies? Apreciate your awnsering
@@timomybier3823 can't really comment on movies but I've used them for pc gaming when not wearing a headset and playing music from my phone. For both in my opinion the speakers are fantastic but like I said I'm not an expert. They produce excellent bass for the size of speaker and wattage. Obviously you can always get better but for the price and connectivity I don't think there's better
@@sterling68 thanks man
EXCELLENT review. THANK YOU!! Clear. To the point. VERY professional. AWESOME review!!!!
good stuff, I would have liked to see the instalation process and unboxing
They are absolutely amazing! I never heard speakers sound so good!
You may need to get out more
@@aaronwilliams7878 please mention better options out there too
I bought these 3 days ago. Awesome. I highly recommend. Hella upgraded my pc
thanks for the explanation of bass adjustment, I'd forgotten that.
Awesome and clean review, thanks. Any chimes noise when using through the headphone jack or USB input?
Okay so specific question: Let's say I turn on my PC which is connected via jack to the speakers, do I hear the windows turn on sound, or does the dial have to be interacted with in order for the speakers to work even if audio is leaving the device?
These seem awesome, however I'm on the fence about the wireless controller. It's a bit off-putting that there's no wire option so I have to keep chucking batteries at it. How long would those AAAs live for in that thing?
Edit:
Update for anyone interested. I found out that decent batteries last a year in this thing. Already bought this system - it's awesome!
Would it be possible to connect 2 systems (business craptop & gaming pc) to the Z407?
@@Depudong I believe it should be possible. It has a mode switch button on the controller, which allows you to swap between the device it is connected to by 3.5mm and another Bluetooth device it is paired to. Worked with a PC and a smartphone, so a laptop with BT should be able to work.
How is the connection?
I heard there is some delay when turning the nob, along with issues like crackling or buzzing noises and sleep mode startup sounds etc
Do you have any idea on how to turn it off ?
how do open up the wireless controller? 😭
Excellent review. Simple and clean.
I agree with the description of this product. The color of the light on the wireless dial, determine the type of connection being used to hear the sound. The only negative comment I will share is, it does not come with a manual. That explains the intricates little operational secrets unique to this product.
Are they loud?
The problem is that Logitech charges a premium for its products, that includes this one whose speaker pairs are full range speakers; they're don't even come with individual mid range and tweeters. But surprisingly the price on these aren't that high.
Your a legend, my dumbass put the pamphlet somewhere and lost it so I couldn't figure out how to change the batteries and then I realized how dumb I was when you just took off the bottom lmao
😂
Hey...Im having some major Bass issues with this speaker set. I have adjusted the bass and no matter what I do to it I keep getting a deep punching sound as if the speaker was ripped but they are not. Like this out of the box. Any ideas would be helpful.
As much as buying a set of generic PC speakers from Logitech terrifies me, outside of very involved and also much more expensive setups with BT recievers/DACs, there isn't really any easier and more cost effective solution to getting a pair of nice speaker that can work with both your PC (through USB) and your projector (through AUX) while also having solid BT capabilities and non-IR wireless controller. So yeah, was terrified to get them, but for my fairly small rook they work great.
Great review , thanks
I have a question regarding this system. The volume knob makes small scroll click then turned, just like a normal mouse scroll. My Z407 requires 2 scroll clicks (2 scroll steps) so the volume can change, is this an issue or it's something designed? In other words, 2 scroll steps for 1 volume change. Only my system does that or what?
Just literally bought this off of a local online store in my country. I've always been a fan of Logitech's speakers. They're not that expensive, but they always give quality and high-end results. I've had my old Logitech 2.1 speakers for a good 20 years now. I think it's really time to let it go, hahaha! Thanks for the review, that's very helpful!
Do these have a humming/buzzing sound when powered on? I have a set of speakers that I returned because it was driving me nuts. It's not very loud, but I have sensitive ears.
@@RafaelW8 I have this set and didn't hear any buzzing sound. They sound great
@@jramos20 are they loud and clear?
@@karimsaleh4659 they get to a pretty good level. I wouldn't say they're extremely loud but it's enough for them being computer speakers
@@RafaelW8 , I had a weird buzzing sound issue when my laptop was turned off and the speakers were on. Turns out it was due to a ground loop. All I had to do was plug my laptop and speakers to the same power supply to resolve the issue.
is there physical buttons to turn the speakers off? Or does the remote have this function?
I wish to use the Bluetooth option for these. I will primarily be gaming, will these be fine? Like in terms of delay wise.
how do you actually power on / off the speakers?
There's no documentation about it. I'm assuming it might just go into standby when it detects that it isn't in use. Would that be a problem if you use the audio jack on VERY LOW volumes and it thinks there's no signal? Also how much power would it consume if it was on standby? Thanks!
The same question
I know these don't have a CRAZY amount of bass obvi , but I have a small gaming set up in my room theses will do for decent bass right? Thanks 💜
how would yall compare this set to z313?
The source under the puc are a bit of a pain to use. If you leave it on Bluetooth there is no ‘off’ button to disconnect or turn the speakers off
Great thoughtful Video Review . Question, If I use the Sub Woofer to connect to my Stereo system - I would just Plug the SW Output jack from the stereo to the Inputs on the Logi SW? Will it work in that manner? If I plug it into my stereo system , levsing it plugged in, does the SW engage Automatically when I turn on the Stereo? It seems that this system is "wired" with the Satellite speakers But BT for the Hockey Puck adjuster. Does that Turn it off and on?
Does the bluetooth work well without delays when connected to computer and playing games?
Can you compere this with Z623? What will be biggest difference with this two models and reguler PC users wants 2+1 sound for gaming and movies is there really huge difference to hear.
The only thing that worries me is the wireless control. What if it gets damaged? How would I control volume and setup without it? Any help, please?
where does the frequency mainly come from the subwoofer? the port on the enclosure or the speaker on the bottom?
WARNING! This system has no highs. It's all Sub and mids. If you're expecting clean and crisp sound, this is not what you want. It sounds muffled
Yes, you're absolutely right. This video here is just a commercial. Can't take youtube videos seriously anymore. "Clear highs and mids" 🤣
What's the sampling frequency of the DAC?
Just bought these and when connecting via Bluetooth, it comes up as headphones not speakers and does not work correctly. Any fixes?
Would be cool if that little control puck worked with powerplay
As soon as you said the Eagles live hotel California and said it was clear I went and bought this
This guy understands sound big time
Were the speakers even turned on during the whole video or did i muted my phone?
Wanna know what’s AWESOME?
Being randomly surprised by your own music on a UA-cam reviewer you like. Lol
I was considering buying these speakers because I thought the dial was cool, so I put on my headphones and heard my own instrumental playing in the background to my surprise! 😂
Great review, and great cinematography, even without the music! Thanks!
Got mine today , being ancient I struggled a bit getting the bluetooth setup to work but eventually the speakers spoke and sound great.
Can you please tell me the cable lengths of the speakers? I am using a standing desk so I am not sure if the length is enough or not. Also, I heard there will be loud welcome and connected sounds. is it still there or not?

Great review!! Thanx! I think you can adjust the annoying sounds for the bass from the control panel on your pc i think. Hope that helps
Can I add another base station to it. I have 1 already but I want to make it louder
Does the speakers auto turn off when it hasn't received audio feed for some time?
precisely
Great video!
How do you power the satellites? Do they have an electricity wire, or you need to change batteries there too?
Thanks! They simply plug into the back of the subwoofer. The cables are about 6 ft long.
How to manually control things if the bluetooth dial is broken?
I have these speakers and headphones dont work with them. I connected speakers via usb port to PC and I plugged in headphones through the aux port in the back of the subwoofer and doesnt work. I selected from the puck white light and sound plays through speakers but when I select purple light , no sound comes from headphones. There’s no other input device to select on my pc either,.I am at a loss. If anyone knows the solution I would be grateful.
Good review. It would be nice to have a time stamp list e.g. to show at what time an audio sample is being played. If a viewer does not like the audio output, there is no point watching the review. Saving people time would have a positive impact on viewers opinion of your channel.
I'm confused. You mention these have a micro-USB port and can be connected to a computer. Does the other end of the cable plug into a USB-A port and do they install drivers? Also does this USB audio work when connected to Chromebooks?
Another reviewer mentions the subwoofer has a DAC built-in which enables USB connectivity.
@@sanjaylordIt has DAC? I didn't know thank you for this information. So it means it works well through Micro USB. How about aux, this will also be good when connected, does the DAC work too when using aux cable?
Does the volume dial control windows volume or just device volume? Like if you had a headset on, would you be able to control volume with the dial?
device volume. Does not affect headset volume and you cannot connect headphones directly to these speakers
Just bought this! It is mesmerising! Listen to Lost Sky x She Is Jules - Darkness [NCS Release] bass and your room is in a trance!!! Freaking brilliant!! Highly recommended as PC speakers! I don't use Bluetooth, so I guess I don't have the sound notification problem. It all worked like a miracle for me! I even enjoy the SOTTR video game when the environment is drums; the bass hits so gooooood! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The only downside is the bass overwhelm the room! But this can be fix with turning down bass altogether, and you got a normal speaker! So flexible! So good!
You can use them withouth the soubufer?
Question does this have an AUX plug in or cord so I can use this with my sound card? Thanks 💜
Yes
hiCan they connect to tv? with jack cable I imagine, right?
and as I see in the video, can I connect the phone directly by bluetooth?thx
you can connect the speakers to anything with bluetooth or use the aux/headphone jack. and yes you can connect your phone directly with Bluetooth
I love my new speakers. They are very good quality and I like the versatility in the position and input. Very good. Happy with my purchase on my new set-up

They are good. Although I am not using them at all these days.
This question might be silly so excuse my ignorance. I’m looking for a true wireless speaker set with subwoofer, and while these advertise “wireless” everywhere, they do have wires to connect to the subwoofer. Does a wireless speaker actually exist? I can’t seem to find any!
How long are wires for speakers?
Can you connect a USB C headphone on these speakers ?
would you recommend this to upgrade my tv sound setup? my TV speakers are like 20w and this kit is 40w RMS
Everything is better than TV speakers in my experience. Even small cheap bluetooth speakers.
i have this and it sounds ok. but after i upgrade my device driver with dolby atmos and got it apps to try the equalizer suddenly it all so loud and pleasant. i really think whatever speaker you purchase, you need a good driver. not that hd driver that windows provide. and yes mine is for my pc. have no problem with it so far even after a year.
Can it auto switch source, say for example if a Bluetooth devices start to play to it?. I'd like my monitor connected to the 3.5MM Aux input. I would also want to connect an Echo over Bluetooth, setting the Z407 as it's preferred speaker.
I'm also interested in this
@@vash47 I can answer the question now as I've purchased the Z407. Unfortunately auto-switching isn't a feature. You have to manually change the source using the puc. It's not a huge issue for me in all honesty. Great 2.1 system for the price.
@@neilhoward84 thanks Neil!
@@neilhoward84 Can you please tell me the cable lengths of the speakers? I am using a standing desk so I am not sure if the length is enough or not. Also, I heard there will be loud welcome and connected sounds. is it still there or not?
@@anilkumarkaramsetty584 The satellite speakers have 1M of cable to the sub. They are very loud, great bass and clarity. Exceptional 2.1 speaker package.
I immediately noticed that there is only one single AUX connection. meaning it is only an stereo speaker, not 2.1 and not 5.1 and not 7.1 I wish there were a 5.1 version too and the other thing. Logi sells their products in South East Asia (SEA) the same price they are selling in US even though those products are made in SEA and there is not much shipping cost and custom taxes here.
2.1 corresponde al sonido estéreo con un canal adicional para efectos de baja frecuencia así que es correcto decir que son 2.1
Great video! Does it goes into standby mode every now and then? Heard it does that and it's irritating
If I don't use my PC for a bit, and then go on it and do something that requires audio, it does lag a few seconds to turn audio on. Sometimes you do need to jiggle the dial a little to wake it up. It is annoying. But was less annoying than wires or ugly speakers, so I ended up buying it anyway. But yes, can't deny it's annoying.
@@ES-wn4oq Yea I bought it and am facing this issue right now. I noticed that the left speaker is playing right sounds while right speaker plays left sounds when the speakers wake up after going into idle. Is that happening on your side too?
@@quinn6426 No, I can't say that I've faced that issue specifically. Other than taking a second to start, it works well. I would say I wonder if you need to reset anything, but I don't even know what you can, as there's really nothing to reset. Maybe unplug from power and reconnect and see if that helps? Switch the input on the dial back and forth.
We’re you get them for $80 ? Amazon has them listed for 120
How is it compared with the G560
Will it work with only monitor?
If you just wanted to add a sub to a device, would anyone recommend anything more than this? Seems like a slam dunk for that.
how long is the incl aux cable? and would you recommend the micro usb or the aux cable to connect it to a pc?
Aux cable is always better for audio
@@sayita03why? Micro USB makes more sense to connect to laptop for instance. Since not every laptop has an aux port.
I owned the z523 for 10 years, great sound, bass being full but not too boomy, satellite speakers providing a bit extra bass too so it doesnt sound like a tin-can when you turn the bass knob down.
I tried the z623 and i was not impressed, it is insanely difficult to find a middle ground to where the bass isnt slapping you in the face but you also want the fullness of bass when listening to low volumes but it just sounds like a tin-can.
How do theze z407 compare to the z523? Has anyone here owned the z5's before and upgraded to the z4? How was it??
So its only the dial that is wireless? You still have to connect the 2 speakers and subwoofer via cables + subwoofer into a power outlet?
Yes
Do these have a humming/buzzing sound when powered on?
I don't notice any humming on mine.
do these recommend a soundcard?
How do I open the hockey puck???????????
Hey 9to5Toys, nice video !
Between these and Logitech Z533, which one would you recommand sound quality-wise ?
Check Amazon or Ebay and see if you can get the more powerful Z537, which is 120 watts. Much better.
Is this compatible with ps4 and a pc screen ?
Can they connect through blootooth
How do these speakers turn on? With the puck or do they immediately go on when the computer boots up?
They turn on when plugged into the power outlet, friend. Then, if no sound source is detected for a longer period, they sort of enter a idle mode
I've been looking tirelessly; are there any 2.1 systems with truely wireless satellites? Or am I doomed to dealing with wires to my satellites in 2021?
No, why would you want wireless satellites for? They would be powered by batteries and use a lot of them.
hello! does Z407 speaker consume energy even if you're not playing anything on it? since it doesn't have a power switch
i'm planning on buying this speaker. so one last question. does the wireless volume dial work if you connect this speaker to the PC via 3.5 mm jack?
@@vincentnicholas64 yes it does
Can you sync this speaker with another logitech pc bluetooth speaker?

The sound quality is really good for 80/90 dollars but there is a significant delay on the USB connection. I'd give them a 9/10 for sound quality, 4/10 for functionality.
Any Sound-system you would recommend?
is there a delay on AUX connection as well?
@@HeSo_71 Aux seems to be ok. I ended up keeping them because for the price they're probably the best you'll find, just so long as you understand the BT and USB won't really work for videos.

What would have made this perfect, was if the remote was rechargeable and you could put it on a standard Qi charger, which many would have for their phone, or if it had a Qi charger on the top of the sub.
Possible electrical interference.
@@InfectedChris Nah. Shielding man. There are PC cabinets with Qi chargers built into the top too. They are low voltage anyways.
This. Should've made the puck rechargeable with their powerplay charging mat
That'd be cool. But if the batteries really last the 12 months that Logitech claims, then I don't know that it'd be worth the extra cost, just so that once a year you can set it on a mat instead of popping in new batteries.
The problem with internal rechargeable batteries is that when they're done for, the device (even if it's perfectly fine) is also done for. And by device, I mean the entire speaker system would lose a remote. So having removable AAA batteries is great for me. Buy rechargeable ones, like eneloops, which would last you more than a lithium ion battery's life span.
