Got a pair of Z-2300s in '05 as an upgrade to I-Trigue 3400s but they died so I replaced them with a pair of Z623s... had them for about 9 years now with no issues. They've always sounded great to me but I'm not some prissy audiophile haha
ATTENTION! I can't believe that noone has adressed a HUGE flaw this product has. I went through several reviews before decided to go for this Z407 model. When using USB input, there is about 170ms delay in sound! It makes watching movies, playing games or using these speakers as part of AirPlay2 synced speakers impossible! The sound is just so much behind your system that it can't be used with USB input. 3,5mm input is fine, but I chose this model only because I needed the USB connection. If you don't need USB, the sound is.. okay. I'd give 6/10 for the sound. But if you want to use USB, walk away. Try and google it and you will find many-many people complaining about it.
@@femiftw Yes, AUX works fine with no latency. But I was planning to use it for 2 devices simultaneously - one via AUX, other via USB. But USB input is completely worthless.
I have these, and I kind of hate them. I don't like needing to replace batteries to have the thing that changes the volume work, and sometimes it needs 10-20 seconds to "wake up" before it starts changing the volume. Sound is fine, but it's really frustrating to deal with at times. I wish they'd just stuck to a regular volume knob.
I don't own it but what shocks me now days is all modern devices with a remote of some kind should by default be setup to be contact charge capable. Almost everyone I know have a contact charger in their home (ironically most are not used to charge their phone, they'd rather use a 10' cable and keep it by the bed) and I always thought things like remotes, mice, and tablets should all be setup to be charged in this fashion. I hate the concept of disposable battery, while I'm not some green extremist I think there are some very logical practical applications they should be used for.
Sound is Awful on mine (Really muddy/muffled loosing voices in video games / videos that I could hear before) for some reason and you have to click the puck down for it to register that you want the sound down or up.
I got these. I use headphones most of the time, but sometimes when im just chilling watching YT or playing Planet zoo i like these. Plenty loud enough for me.
I have these speakers. There are some good and not so good aspects, about them, like most things. I like having the remote, but I hate two major issues with these speakers. 1. It does very loud tunes on computer start-up and close down. This is very intrusive if others are sleeping in the house. You cannot control the volume of these sounds. The remote does not have an impact on this volume, nor driver updates. As a work around, I just unplug the speakers before turning it off and connect the speakers after start up. This works for me, but it would be difficult if the speakers were placed out of reach. 2. The speakers will actually overrule my computer volume settings (which are aligned to these speakers). So I go to view a video. I purposely turn the volume down on the computer and then click play for the video. And I get a chastising sound effect and the volume bar automatically shoots to a much louder voume before my eyes. So I drag it back and it auto moves it back up, and it becomes a wrestling match. I have to then quickly grab the remote to bring the volume down. This then allows the volume to be reduced. It does this when I play some computer games and videos, but not all of them. So it is confusing. I have never had speakers do these things before. Had I known these issues I probably would have gone with a different model, but, nevertheless, I still like them.
@@johnpen269 Thanks John. I did try that. Just tried it again, but the speakers over ride it. When I do use the speakers, it also forces the volume up, even though I drag it to a softer level. It's okay as I have a workaround. It just means I can't do things automatically. I still like the speakers. This is just one feature I could do without. EDIT: If I turn off Bluetooth before I close down there is no sound. When I turn it back on the notification sound is loud regardless of a muted system. Sigh! Thanks for you help. I am happy to hear any ideas. In the meantime I will use my workaround. Thanks John. I appreciate yout input.

I noticed that the Micro USB to USB connection method is not working at all. I have a Mac. AUX and Bluetooth work. However, here is my issue. AUX and Bluetooth are causing audio latency when I am using GarageBand on my Mac. Any suggestions?
Hy, I have a question. The controller is connected with the Bluetooth of the speaker or with the Bluetooth of the computer. Because I don't have the Bluetooth in my computer. Thanks
Speakers have worked perfectly for me. Only complaints I have is that while using Bluetooth, when I use the dial to adjust the volume there is a delay. Secondly, when I've muted my PC sounds and open an app that plays sound, they'll automatically unmute themselves.
Is there any way to control the audio without the puck? Just got these and there doesn't seem to be a way. For example, if the batteries die, there's no control of the bass or the volume without getting new batteries. You can modify the sound on your computer volume slider, but that controls the volume that's already set, not the actual range of the speaker volume. Or am I missing something? Because that's making me want to return these.
Apparently if you connect them through micro usb the volume will merge with the windows volume slider? Don't quote me though because I don't own them (yet)
No. The bluetooth control dial is only way to acces the volumes. But the batteries supposedly last forever, and you can always have a couple of new batteries with you in case of an emergency.
I have these and the bluetooth remote just wont connect to anything anymore, just after a few months. the pairing light will blink but is not discoverable
I have these speakers and headphones dont work with them. I connected speakers via usb port to PC and I plugged in headphones through the aux port in the back of the subwoofer and doesnt work. There’s no other input device to select on my pc either,.I am at a loss. If anyone knows the solution I would be grateful.

Are there any way to turn it off and on? The Z333 has a switch in the volume knob for that. If not, it simply stays on while the source is on? And what about the chime everybody talks about? Does it make that sound everytime you turn on the speakers? I'm thinking of connecting them trought the 3.5mm cable to my external monitor, and then connect my monitor to my macbook pro. Will it make a loud sound everytime I turn on my external monitor? Thank you!
Thanks! There's basically no way of turning it off expect for plugging them out from the power socket. You can change the source to something that's not connected to keep them quiet. The speaker chimes in these scenarios - once you plug in the power to turn them off and once the Bluetooth is connected to a device, while for 3,5 mm and USB connection it doesn't chime at all.
If anyone is watching this now, go for the Z623 set instead. Far more powerful and better sound. When on sale (now), they are a steal at $129 CAD ($100 USD). You will need the Logitech bluetooth adapter if you want Bluetooth ($40 CAD), but I can confirm that adapter is the best one I've ever used.

hey brother i just picked this up and there's a problem, micro usb audio input has noticeable audio lag and 3.5mm audio jack does not. that's a deal breaker for me unless you can help

So are theese wireless or not? I'm searching for wireless speakers for my bedroom and I can find thousands of videos saying "wireless speakers" what all of theese have in common is big fat wires in plain sight going out the back of the speakers.
About Logitech 2.1 speakers, you have the choice for the Z407, the Z533 or the Z623/625 if you want correct multimedia speakers sets, forget the Z3XX series.
They sound a touch weedy from your recording - you can hear the lack of a proper mid range woofer, I think. Relying on a subwoofer tends to make the bass either boomy or weak depending on the volume: this is exactly what I noticed with my first Logitech 2.1 setup 13 years ago
My old Cambridge SoundWorks 4.1 setup actually got this right. Every set I've heard since then has had problems balancing the bass. Including a subsequent Cambridge Soundworks 5.1 set.
ok this might be a dumb question, but I'm not really that knowlageble whene it comes to computer and tecnolagy (also english isnt my first language) How do you turn it off?? is that by the reset function, or some other way? or can you even turn it off?
the only problem i have after owning these is that the audio is just slightly delayed and its noticeable to me. i have a wireless headset as well and there is no delay when i use those on my pc
I've had the speakers for the past 2 weeks and i'm lolving the convenience. The bluetooth is amazing for tablets, phones or even laptops but the caviat is that you should only use it for music, because if you try to watch a video or a movie, the audio will be delayed and you will notice it :/
Had this for a few years, it sucks terribly, sometimes when my PC is idle, it auto turns off when there is no audio playing in the background like a sleep mode, not only that, when my pc turned off, there is this terrible static sound coming out of both speakers, i need to manually tap the control to turn it off, it's unbearable, I will change a new sound system soon.

I'm using the standard bluetooth connection and I noticed on some shows there is bad latency. Does the wired connection with the 3.5mm fix this problem, at least to where it isn't terribly noticeable?
I bought them everything and they don’t have lag. They are amazing! You can change the bass with the circular remote it comes with. These sound so so so good and sounds like I’m in a movie theater bass and sound but even better. Trust me go with these speakers! You will not be disappointed!
Question for y'all. My vehicles stereo system is dead and I'm not going to spend the money for a system. Is it possible to plug this into an inverter for power and use the Bluetooth to my phone as car speaker system? In other words, can this product be used without having it associated with a computer, or would my phone suffice as the computer? Any input is appreciated
Can you please tell me the cable lengths of the speakers? I am using a standing desk so I am not sure if the length is enough or not. Also, I heard there will be loud welcome and connected sounds. is it still there or not?
anyone knows if this is 110-240 volts?.. coz our country uses 220 v while in ships where i work it's 110.. i want to be able to use it at work and at home
Can it auto switch source, say for example if a Bluetooth devices start to play to it?. I'd like my monitor connected to the 3.5MM Aux input. I would also want to connect an Echo over Bluetooth, setting the Z407 as it's preferred speaker.
all the photos make it seem like the speakers are completely unwired ... not true they are wired togother with the subwoofer. just not with the music source.
I've had 3 sets of the Z623s over the years which I love but they're not compatible with newer phones. Looking for ones with Bluetooth so I can use them with my phone in addition to computer. Anyone know how the sound of these compares to the Z623? I'm guessing I'm going to be disappointed
I don't want the remote dial and blue tooth, sounds like they cause to many issues on the Z407. I just wanna replace my blown Z4 with the Z623. You've had 3, do they break down? Should I buy them? (33% off sale)
So i have a HP Laptop, and it only has one 3.5mm output, will it work on this, i saw there was right port and left port, i was wondering if i only put the 3.5mm in, will it not work in stereo 2.1
Should be fine. Standard 3.5mm output is stereo - left and right speakers use the mid/upper frequencies from left and right channels respectively, and the sub uses the lower frequencies from both channels combined.
dumb question but can I connect my Sony XM3 to it? using the 3.5mm cable connected to my monitor when studying sucks, the audio is super low even on max volume. Its a struggle. I want something to connect wirelessly to my PC (for somereason i cant even with bluetooth motherboard).

Everything will be distorted at top volume 😁 I found it to be OK to about 80-90%, but it's not like you're going to listen it at that level majority of the time
I have a 15x10 room with this setup and it sounds great. no regrets what so ever easily worth every penny and i never have it at 100% usually go up to 80-90 as it is already loud enough at those volumes

Amazing review! There aren't that many out there as of now. Quick question though, how is the connection reliability of the volume controller? Does it have a delay? Let me know thanks!
I've had this set for about 6 months. Very rarely does the remote work immediately. You have to tap or twist numerous time before it works, even with brand new batteries. I would not recommend this set, even though the sound quality is good. I will be changing back to a set up that has the volume & bass control on the speakers, not in a wireless remote.
@@rickpower4096must have been bad luck, mine works almost immediately, the remote is definitely cool and more comfortable than a volume knob on the speakers. They could have both options though, simply since you never know when the AAA batteries may run out...
You have to disconnect your phone from the bluetooth. Thats the one draining it quickly. Even if youve already switched to the other connection mode, once youve connected to the speakers, it will stay connected until you disconnect it.

Cant find the Keychron device anywhere. Any suggestions?
Is there a way to get this to work w/o the puck/bluetooth?
hi there im just watching your video. i cant open de hocky paddock. please can you help me?
ok this might be a dumb question, but I'm not really that knowlageble whene it comes to computer and tecnolagy (also english isnt my first language)
How do you turn it off??
is that by the reset function, or some other way? or can you even turn it off?
Cant turn it off only way too do it is too uplug it from its power source
@@dracofnwraco You kidding right???
@@NjabuloHadebe yeah its constantly running unless you turn off the USB power source
Hey who created your opener video?
I have my ps5 and switch in a gaming monitor, if I plug this into my monitor will I get sound from my consoles ? The monitor has no sound on its own.
If it has pass-through audio, you should, yes!
the only problem i have after owning these is that the audio is just slightly delayed and its noticeable to me. i have a wireless headset as well and there is no delay when i use those on my pc
does delay happen with usb or 3,5mm too?
@@bogatiiplays no delay with 3.5. Idk about usb
@@vincenzo679no delay via usb either
I've had the speakers for the past 2 weeks and i'm lolving the convenience. The bluetooth is amazing for tablets, phones or even laptops but the caviat is that you should only use it for music, because if you try to watch a video or a movie, the audio will be delayed and you will notice it :/
Is the Z407 going into standby mode every now and then? I read that this is happening

@@quinn6426 not for me
@@swnheart no?
Weird, I’m watching vids on my phone w them and I haven’t noticed any delay
Nice! So with the micro usb port, can i plug it into my monitor and have sound from from multiple computers that are connected to my monitor?
Unfortunately no, it doesn't work that way, it needs to connect to a PC in order for drivers to be setup
My instant apprehension towards this product is how similar it looks to products that have performed poorly for me in the past

Had this for a few years, it sucks terribly, sometimes when my PC is idle, it auto turns off when there is no audio playing in the background like a sleep mode,
not only that, when my pc turned off, there is this terrible static sound coming out of both speakers, i need to manually tap the control to turn it off, it's unbearable, I will change a new sound system soon.
Does anyone know what type of cable I should use for the USB audio connection of this speaker?
can I connect multiple bluetooth sources to the speaker?
Yes you can, up to three devices if I’m not mistaken
Very nice review. I already have z333 and planning to replace with this. Is it worth upgrading? I hate it when i see wires in my desk. Does it sound better than z333?
@@johnvanasikas500 not yet. im still enjoying my z333. ill just wait till my z333 gives up on me. i think its now worth upgrading when you have z333 already
I bought these but it didn't come with a 3.5mm cable (i got it from microcenter and it wasn't returned/opened or anything). I'm using the standard bluetooth connection and I noticed on some shows there is bad latency. Does the wired connection with the 3.5mm fix this problem, at least to where it isn't terribly noticeable?
Yeah should have no latency
I dont understand how you removed cover of that bluetooth thingy :D I just cant do it :D
I finally did it :D
Does this have any sound lag when people are talking on Bluetooth when watching Netflix or UA-cam?

You don't need to turn them off so no welcome sounds as long as they stay on/standby mode
Do they have any Bluetooth lag?
anyone knows if this is 110-240 volts?.. coz our country uses 220 v while in ships where i work it's 110.. i want to be able to use it at work and at home
Can it auto switch source, say for example if a Bluetooth devices start to play to it?. I'd like my monitor connected to the 3.5MM Aux input. I would also want to connect an Echo over Bluetooth, setting the Z407 as it's preferred speaker.
That's a good question, and as far as I can remember, I had to always switch manually
all the photos make it seem like the speakers are completely unwired ... not true they are wired togother with the subwoofer. just not with the music source.
Does it come with the aux cable?
can you show me how to turn off this speaker please, there's no power button.
Yeah, you can't turn them off, they have an auto shutdown option
@@MattsPaddock thanks man.
Thanks Logitech mine came with no manual. I dont even know how to put the battery in.
Question does this have an AUX plug in or cord so I can use this with my sound card? Thanks 💜
Yes
How do i turn the dial off
Nice review !
Between these and Logitech Z533, what would you recommend me, sound quality-wise ? Thanks !
It's been a long time since I've tried Z533, honestly can't remember anymore in a way I could compare it from the top of my head
Just get the logitech z623 its better then all
I've had 3 sets of the Z623s over the years which I love but they're not compatible with newer phones.
Connect it so it receives the signal from the speakers or?
When I use them wirelessly, they have a bit of audio delay. When wired, they are fine. Is there any way I may fix this?
That's an issue with bluetooth as a whole.
how can I turn off this without electric disconneccting
Is this better than the g560???
Hi Tech! Great presentation. Do you still need to hook the included cables from speakers to subwoofer even though you are connecting the puck via Bluetooth? Thanks
Yeah you do, Bluetooth is purely for device connectivity
@@th3h05t7 does this mean i could connect the speakers through my monitor with the output cable? as i want to use it for my ps5
@@arron5934 yeah, the monitor output goes to the subwoofer

I wanna buy this product but PC Mag review in this subwoofer top volume is distort.
Should l buy this product for 10×10 square room and for multi device usage??
Everything will be distorted at top volume 😁 I found it to be OK to about 80-90%, but it's not like you're going to listen it at that level majority of the time
I have a 15x10 room with this setup and it sounds great. no regrets what so ever easily worth every penny and i never have it at 100% usually go up to 80-90 as it is already loud enough at those volumes
Yooo TekTik how you been !
How to fix the dial not syncing with the pc volume? it didnt show up like yours
It's lagging or?
@@MattsPaddock when i turn the dial it doesnt display the pc volume like 100%
@@ariefmalique That's because it's not the same thing. PC volume determines how much sound the PC spits out, and then the dial determines how much the speaker system amplifies that sound. Same as any other external speaker system.
@@patheddles4004 necro post, but you're wrong here. there is two methods, if you're in 3.5mm mode, then the dial and pc are separate. but if you're in USB mode or bluetooth, then the dial will control windows volume
@@iOxideAUS true, my answer only applies if you're using the 3.5mm out.
Very cute review! Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
So I can't connect wired headphones to it, but can I connect headphones via bluetooth?
Yes, there's no line output on them
The startup and shut down notification sound is really terrible. It’s loud and not needed. Why did Logitech do this. Many users complaining.
Hey! Thank you for the review. Just was looking to buy these beauties.
You told that it is possible to lower the level of the bass, can smbd explainn, how to adjust bass lvl?
Amazing review! There aren't that many out there as of now. Quick question though, how is the connection reliability of the volume controller? Does it have a delay? Let me know thanks!
I haven't experience any issues whatsoever! The official range is 20 meters, I tried it from 10 meters distance, was working just fine!
Most def a delay and mine just stopped working. returning now.
I have a PC monitor connected to an Xbox. Will these speakers work just connected to the monitor?
If the monitor has an audio line out, then yes.
Sound tracks in the video?
Thorough, informative review. Re lack of microphone:
Have you tried connecting a bluetooth enabled microphone?
Con you use this directly on the monitor ?
What do you mean by that?
@@MattsPaddock maybe he means connecting to TV which will function like soundbar.
These are the speakers I got for my pc. And it didn't disappoint. And my 1 problem is the battery's for the wireless remote seem to always die quick
You have to disconnect your phone from the bluetooth. Thats the one draining it quickly. Even if youve already switched to the other connection mode, once youve connected to the speakers, it will stay connected until you disconnect it.
How do you change the battery? im tryna figure it out but can’t seem to find a video to help out with my issue id appreciate a response
