My aunt adored Barry. When I was older and took an interest in the Rutles she gave me her record collection and all the Rutle memorabilia she had. This was around 76 when there was talk of them getting back together.
It takes the organ riff from im looking through you and transforms it into an entirely original entity...its hard to realize just how good these rutle songs actually are because of the parody origins but man neil innes crafted some excellent songs for the soundtrack, this being one of the best

I'm a musician so I could tell that it was all the same chord changes as well as melody. Both the original song and band are somewhat obscure though.
@kangaroocomedy i was there as well and can verify this story....dirk had told leggy that 'life was i big movie anyways and were all actors' as he put it and nasty said'right,lets go out and try some o that tea everyones been talkin bout' so while the actors played at che the real rutles were out looking to score some tea... we later met up at the hotel . but we didnt get paid ..they told us to sod off and act like we got paid..they settled for coffee..they coldnt score any tea.
